Chapter 738: A Gift to the Water Spirit

Chapter 738: A Gift to the Water Spirit

Lucien and all the women around him can’t help but find Pride’s expressions endearing.

However, instead of dematerializing her body, she casts a stern glance at everyone, creating a powerful pressure with her incredible aura.

Only Lucien, the Water Spirit, and Eve are able to withstand that pressure, causing all the other women to stop laughing at Pride.

She smiles confidently before containing her aura and looking back at Lucien.

"Ahem," he composes himself as well. "So..."

"We shouldn’t waste more time," before he can speak, Naomi interjects first; she can’t help but worry about her mother. "Now that you have the portal key, we can bring new people here."

Lucien is aware that other girls like Cassidy, Angela, Ghalenna, and also Rose want to bring people they love to the Blue Star so they can be safe behind the incredible barrier.

He then turns his attention to Nea, Mira, and especially the Water Spirit.

"You can bring as many people as you wish," the Water Spirit quickly comments. "I will create new islands; there’s plenty of space for various races above and within the ocean."

Maya also wants to help Lucien, and although she is leaving the Blue Star with him, her daughter and granddaughter will take over the Rising Phoenix Clan.

"My people are already accustomed to surviving in this world without being aquatic races, so they can help humans and other races adapt." She declares amiably.

"We will also help them, of course," Nea comments, and Mira nods in agreement beside her.

Lucien feels genuinely pleased to know that the people of Belor might have a new, truly good life on the Blue Star.

He never considered them as his people, but he understands why Naomi and his other sisters have such feelings, and of course, he wants the best for them.

"So, let’s do this," he smiles at Naomi.

"Wait," but before Lucien can ask Daisy and the Sins to finalize a portal to Belor, the Water Spirit approaches him.

Her expression shifts from the usual gentle and friendly smile to something more curious and even slightly worried.

"What’s wrong? Is something amiss?" Lucien can’t help but feel concerned too.

"It’s not that," she shakes her head. "I would never force you into anything, but there’s something I’d like to ask of you, a favor actually."

Lucien smiles at the Water Spirit, ready to assist her as he is very grateful for her gifts, but the Sins grow suspicious again.

"I knew there was something behind all this goodwill..." This time it’s Envy who voices her concern first, but Pride shares the sentiment.

The Water Spirit casts a challenging look at the Sins before smiling back at Lucien. "You really don’t have to do it; I just promised someone I would ask for your help, but in the end, it’s your decision."

Lucien becomes curious about this request. "I’m listening."

"It’s simple," the Water Spirit explains. "Many years ago, I thought I might need help at some point, and I sought the assistance of someone..."

She continues. "The most important thing to her was power, and she agreed to help me if I promised her more power in return."

Lucien and all the women around him understand the kind of request the Water Spirit is making, as after all, who can empower women more than him?

Yet, everyone has the same question, which Lucien voices aloud. "Who is she?"

"Thalara." The Water Spirit responds promptly.

"No!" Pride responds immediately, even before Lucien can.

He looks at her, confused, and sees the same determined expression on the other Sins’ faces. "Who is Thalara?"

"The Leviathan," Sloth answers.

"Oh," Now Lucien understands why Pride so quickly dismissed the request.

Before he can even ask his wives for their opinion, many of them tell him not to help such a creature that brutally separated them, causing them immense suffering for weeks.

The Water Spirit can see that almost everyone there harbors resentment towards the Leviathan due to what she did to Lucien, but he himself doesn’t seem to harbor anger towards her.

It’s clear that Lucien doesn’t harbor fond feelings towards the wild and mysterious creature, but after she helped the Water Spirit create the barrier, protecting the people he loves, things changed.

Lucien feels they are even now, and he doesn’t want to have any feelings about her, good or bad, but perhaps he no longer has that choice.

As he ponders this, the Water Spirit speaks to his wives. "Thalara went through... watching her mother die in that way and everyone hunting her people..."

"All she ever wanted was to seek power to avenge her kind against the dragons and make the universe respect her kind," the Water Spirit continues, capturing everyone’s attention.𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"But she gave me the same power that took her centuries to amass, she gave such power to me to create this barrier."

"So, even if you hate her for keeping Lucien away from you for a few weeks, can you truly deny a small aid to her after she helped you so much?"

The Water Spirit’s words cause Lucien’s wives to feel conflicted about their own feelings. They aren’t going to start feeling pity for the Leviathan or even forgive her.

But they agree that her help was crucial for Lucien to receive the Water Spirit’s gift, so they stop urging him to refuse helping Thalara.

Yet, no one directly asks Lucien to help the Leviathan, leaving such a decision solely to him.

"Would it be just until she recovers her former power and becomes a bit stronger?" He asks the Water Spirit.

But before she can answer, Envy speaks up. "Even with your current potential, it would take over a year to bring her back to that level of power."

The Water Spirit nods. "Probably a few years for you to help her reach the third or fourth layer of the Cosmic Realm... depending on how much effort you put into helping her."

"And after that, we’d be even?" He inquires.

"She couldn’t ask for anything more from you," the Water Spirit replies.

"Lucien..." Lust speaks in his mind. "You, I, everyone here, and even this woman, we all know that things don’t work that way."

"If you place a Soul Mark on the Leviathan and bond with her for a year, you won’t just let her go afterward... your possessive side wouldn’t allow you to give her up." Lust elaborates.

Lucien would like to think that he can engage with other women without becoming emotionally involved, but it’s precisely the emotions that make his methods so effective.

After a year of investing time and emotions in Thalara, he would want her by his side, fighting alongside him, essentially making her part of the family.

"Is that also part of the plan?" He can’t help but ask Lust.

"Maybe..." She isn’t sure, just like him. "But either way, you hold the final decision, as always."

Lucien also thinks along those lines, so he turns his attention back to the Water Spirit. "Where is she?"

With a gesture, the Water Spirit makes her glass coffin emerge from the sea, carrying the Leviathan in humanoid form inside.

Nobody there hides their surprise at seeing how beautiful the Leviathan is in humanoid form, including Lucien.

"She gave me all her strength, every drop of it," the Water Spirit comments. "So, she will need some time inside this glass coffin just to be able to wake up and move, but she won’t have any strength."

Lucien can hardly believe that the fragile girl sleeping so serenely inside the glass coffin is the same monstrous creature that attacked him so brutally.

"It’s like she could have both extremes of a sweet girl and a terrible monster..." He thinks out loud.

"Nah, she’s only like that when she sleeps." The Water Spirit laughs.

Lucien wears a thoughtful expression. "I can’t just carry her around like that-"

"This glass box is special," the Water Spirit interrupts him. "You can take it into your Soul Realm, which will help her recover more quickly."

"Hmm..." Lucien likes the idea of bringing such a dangerous creature into his domain.

The Water Spirit understands his concerns. "Don’t worry, she’ll wake up with no power to harm your girls, and you’ll be able to decide her fate."

Lucien realizes that he will be the only one in control of the situation, so he finds no real reason to deny the request now.

He looks again at his wives, and all of them give their consent, making it clear they agree with the decision.

"Alright, she can come with us." Lucien agrees and then opens a portal to the Purple World, sending the unconscious Thalara in the glass coffin to his abode.
