Chapter 737: Receiving the Water Spirit’s Gift
As Alexa finds out about the Secret Alliance’s plans to dominate the Seven Stars, the atmosphere remains festive on the Blue Star.
After receiving yet another gift from the Water Spirit, Lucien makes it clear that he is ready to accept her grandest gift and form an alliance.
The Sins remain concerned about the consequences of such a union, especially Pride.
Instead of engaging in further discussions, he returns to the Purple World to conclude his birthday in the best possible way: by showing gratitude for the gifts from all his wives.
The grand celebration in the Crystal City continues with all the Mermaids and Nagas toasting to Lucien while he enjoys a private party at home with his wives.
Although his sisters and some of his wives are worried about the future, they manage to relax for a moment and simply enjoy life together.
But the respite ends when a new day dawns on the Blue Star, and the group gathers again on the castle terrace.
Lucien exits the Purple World with his girls and finds the Water Spirit still sitting in the same chair he left her in the night before.
On the Blue Star, only a whole day has passed, but Lucien had nearly four days inside the Purple World with his girls.
And even though he was quite busy during that time, a part of him missed the mysterious Blue Lady.
"Good morning," she speaks in a friendly, even affectionate tone, smiling as she sees Lucien approach.
"Did you wait here for us?" he asks without thinking, and seeing an embarrassed expression forming on the beautiful face of the Water Spirit, he immediately regrets such a question.
"Ahem," he clears his throat and smiles amiably at her. "Good morning."
The Water Spirit tries to appear calm and collected, especially since all the eyes of the women with Lucien are now on her.
"I wanted to resolve this quickly so I can refocus on the barrier," she explains.
Lucien looks up at the bluish-green barrier in the sky. "Can you really keep that barrier firm without having to continuously channel your energy into it?"
"Yes," the Water Spirit nods. "But I will need a significant amount of time to do so... to complete my work here."
Lucien and his wives are quite impressed with the Water Spirit’s power, but the Sins, especially Pride, find something suspicious about the whole affair.
"So, we are forming an alliance now, but you can’t lend us your power..." Pride comments sarcastically. "That seems very convenient."
Lucien feels an instinctive urge to defend the Water Spirit, but he’s not naive and sees how the situation does indeed seem peculiar.
The Water Spirit doesn’t appear angered by Pride’s comment, but her eyes seem to search for something in Lucien before she turns her attention back to Pride.
"Despite all the power I have acquired over time, I am not perfect and I make mistakes too," she speaks in a humble tone.
Nea can’t help but feel sympathy and quickly stands in front of Pride. "She’s referring to the curse of the two dark swords a thousand years ago..."
As she mentions that, Nea can’t help but feel a sense of sadness, casting a pained look at the Ghost Lady in the scabbard and Saria.
The sword emits a dark blue glow, and both Nea and Saria feel a wave of positive emotions emanating from the cursed blade, lessening their sadness.
Lucien can only imagine the depth of Nea’s pain over the years for what happened to Kaisa, but he knows that if something similar happened to his children, he would be overwhelmed with anger and sorrow.
The Water Spirit locks eyes with Lucien, understanding his feelings, but he still has no idea of the full extent of what she represents.
"Indeed, I underestimated the amount of dark energy the swords would generate," the Water Spirit explains. "I am still recovering from dealing with them, and I just used almost all of my power to summon the barrier."𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"And that saved us." Lucien gives a grateful look to the Water Spirit before turning his attention back to Pride and the other Sins.
"She prevented an invasion of Dragons and Gods into this world, a battle that would be impossible for us to win now." Despite his confidence and bravery, Lucien is aware of how powerful his enemies could be.
The Water Spirit nods. "I certainly would have helped you, but we couldn’t have won that war without losing thousands, and probably the Blue Star itself in the end."
The Sins have no arguments to counter that, but the atmosphere grows increasingly tense.
"I’ve made my decision," Lucien addresses the Sins, particularly Pride, who is the only one making things difficult. "Will you support me or not?"
Lust, Envy, and Sloth clearly support him, and the other Sins also nod, leaving only Pride to decide.
She too had already decided to support him, but she just can’t let go of her arrogant and stubborn demeanor, especially in front of everyone.
But in the end, she nods slightly at Lucien, a clear sign of her support for him.
Having already spoken with all his sisters and wives, Lucien then turns his attention to the Water Spirit. "I’m ready."
She smiles amiably and extends her hand, from which a blue ball materializes, containing the key to the Blue Star.
The Sins, including Lust, grow concerned again as the power within that key is incredible and mysterious, unlike anything they have ever seen, so naturally, they fear for Lucien’s safety.
Lucien, on the other hand, finds the energy of the key, as well as the mana of the Water Spirit, very familiar.
He feels safe and natural in her presence, but still, he looks into her eyes once more before accepting the gift.
The Water Spirit senses Lucien’s trust emanating from his body, in his actions and gaze, but she understands how he feels about all the women around him.
So, she tries to make her intentions clear in her look and expression, which works because Lucien and his wives believe that she truly is their ally.
The Water Spirit steps towards Lucien, and he also moves towards her before extending his hand to touch the blue ball.
"It will be quick," the Water Spirit speaks gently, and the energy begins to flow naturally into Lucien’s arm.
This blue energy is as gentle and soothing as the Water Spirit herself, and Lucien doesn’t resist it; in fact, the familiar feeling he experiences grows stronger as the energy enters his body.
The process occurs very naturally, and as soon as all the energy from the key is inside Lucien’s body, he instinctively knows how to control it.
Then it’s his turn to summon a blue ball in his hand and make it open, revealing the magical key.
With a thought, he opens a portal in front of him and extends his arm through it, which then emerges from another portal in front of Pride.
She sees his hand slowly approaching her face and rolls her eyes while sighing.
However, she doesn’t recoil, and Lucien caresses her face through the portal. "Looks like this works perfectly."
"Yeah, we’re all seeing it..." Pride comments in a falsely annoyed tone, but inwardly she struggles not to show pleasure under Lucien’s touch.
He could stop, but his desire to tease her is stronger, and he uses his fingers to coax a smile onto her soft lips.
"Come on, this is great for us," he says excitedly. "Why can’t you just be happy for a moment?"
Pride is indeed happy, as are all the other Sins and women around Lucien, as things seem to be increasingly going right.
But she can’t simply show such emotions, especially in front of everyone.
Instead of just retreating away from Lucien’s arm, she does something that shocks everyone.
*Crack*
She playfully bites his finger, not hard enough to cause severe pain, but enough to make a clear noise.
"Ah!" Lucien feels surprise rather than pain at her action, which makes him withdraw his arm through the portal and exclaim.
"Have you turned into a dog?" He chuckles while looking at Pride.
She, on the other hand, immediately regrets her action and tries hard not to appear embarrassed. "I’ll bite your damn finger off next time!"
Lucien laughs even more at Pride’s expression, while only the Sins and Eve dare to laugh along with him.
The other women find the scene amusing, but the Water Spirit has a thoughtful look on her face, something between contemplation and jealousy.
