Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4723 Changing Her Mind?

Chapter 4723  Changing Her Mind?

Davis's tone couldn't be any prouder.

Fairy Thunderblaze was also shocked. She guessed it would've been him or Myria, but it turns out it was that twin of Myria. Was she also a great cultivator? Why didn't she know?

Her heart shook.

Hearing about Truesoul and Soul Quintessence was something novel for her. Just chancing upon this information seemed like it was worth the trip coming here and retreating. However, as cultivators, they could never stop being greedy.

With Lady Thunderwraith's help, they could head further.

"There has never been a better deal in this era for a ghost." Fairy Thunderblaze put in a word.

Lady Thunderwraith was also visibly shaken.

Acquiring this so-called Inspirited Truesoul Reanimation Technique would be heaven-sent for her. However, it was too good to be true. How could such a technique exist?

If this technique leaked, wouldn't the ghosts from every galaxy suddenly become equal to their next incarnation, ignoring the laws of reincarnation?

Even as a ghost, it was a frightening realization for her.

'Is this what Divergents are capable of? Twisting the world's balance and causing destruction?' She thought.

Remaining silent for a while, she said, "I'll consider it positively."

"Your wish."

Davis didn't like to force anyone. If he got a powerful ally or even had a spy in these ghost sects, perhaps he would be able to learn more about his Ghost Will transformation. He mostly wanted her for the latter. However, telling her to betray her sect at the get-go wasn't a good negotiation tactic, so he only wanted her for her power. A ghost cultivator's methods should be frightening to many people, including most Heaven's Warriors. After all, all of them weren't going to have heavenly lightning or anti-ghost kind of energy or property to be dealing with them.

Moreover, a ghost was truly sneaky. It wouldn't be easy to detect them!

Lastly, a Divine Exalt Ghost… he could only wonderful what kind of manual she would use to gather faith energy.

Who was going to worship ghosts?

Some disciples, especially from other galaxies, already carried Divine Exalt Manuals. He wouldn't find it strange if Lady Thunderwraith were already carrying one in her ring or mind.

Nonetheless, he didn't probe deeper.

"Let's hide and wait for those things to stop hunting first." He suggested.

The two ladies nodded, and they found themselves in an abandoned shack at the edge of a village. It was adjacent to a small mound blocking the path and hidden by the trunk of a withered tree. Unless one entered the withered tree, they would not be able to see that this place existed from outside.

However, there were bloodstains all over the place.

This location seems to have already been raided by the blood carnage Calamity long ago, only to be forgotten later.

Logic says it would've turned into a ghost breeding ground, but due to the mound, the aura of earth was prevalent here, which was incompatible with ghostly yin energy. Evidently, Davis realized that there might be a treasure of earth-attribute in the mound, but he wasn't going to excavate it and expose this location.

He stayed put, giving time for Lady Thunderwraith to consider well. It wasn't an easy decision to make.

Fairy Thunderblaze was staring at Lady Thunderwraith with some intensity as though she couldn't wait to explore the realm of ghosts. It was fascinating to her.

"Do you know Yin Mo?" Davis asked.

"He's a powerful corpse cultivator. Even I would find it difficult to injure him. However, I doubt he could've survived the current ordeal."

Davis chuckled. A corpse cultivator, while still a ghost lifeform, still possessed some flesh, although it was rotten. It was different, unlike Lady Thunderwraith, who was only maintained in a soul state and perhaps had a dantian that holds essence, since the corpse cultivator counterpart was soul and body.

There was a high chance Yin Li also died here after getting away from them.

"Then I must find his corpse and loot his belongings." He added with an amused tone.

Lady Thunderwraith didn't seem to have any trouble in regards to that despite coming from powers that shared a good relationship. She might truly be detached, making Davis wonder if his decision to invite her to their family was even a sound one.

He looked at Fairy Thunderblaze, wondering if she was comparatively better as an ally since she could at least speak better and would reveal most of her thoughts, like wanting supremacy, ruling above all, and many other matters, unless it came to personal stuff.

Seemingly noticing his gaze, she turned to look at him from the corner of the abandoned shack.

"What?" She questioned.

Davis removed his gaze, refusing to elaborate.

"Are you two also husband and wife?" Finally, a few words escaped Lady Thunderwraith's mouth.

"No!"

Both Davis and Fairy Thunderblaze retorted, seemingly offended by that question.

It made the female wraith go speechless.

Their compatibility was flawless, and they understood each other from what she could see. Furthermore, they didn't seem guarded against each other, and there was a strange tension between them. Even if they weren't married, she guessed that they had some complicated relationship, but for them to react so heavily, it made her shrink back.

These two Divergents were not incredibly frightening for her, but she knew they were dangerous enough to end her current life.

She didn't want to offend them.

"My apologies then." Lady Thunderwraith said in a flat tone, "If you two aren't husband and wife, why are you traveling together?"

Davis held back his tongue for a moment before he explained why they were here, how he carried a debt with Fairy Thunderblaze, and he was repaying her. He then added, "She is my Davis Family's ally, so naturally, I will give her some form of protection even without the debt. If you join and become a valuable ally, I will also do the same for you, regardless of who your next incarnation is."

"You're so naive." Fairy Thunderblaze quipped with a look of disapproval, "What if her next incarnation is one of your wives or even your daughters?"

Davis chuckled, "You think I haven't considered that? If she is connected to one of my family members, by virtue of karma, we would already have a connection between us which I would be able to perceive."

"Is that so?" Fairy Thunderblaze blinked.

She was also accomplished in the realm of Karma Laws, so how can she not perceive such a thing?

Davis returned his gaze to Lady Thunderwraith, "If you were worried about that and it became true, then I will say I will give you enough time to leave before I make my move. I naturally can't allow a Truesoul clone of my precious wives and daughters to exist."

Lady Thunderwraith nodded. It was indeed one of her worries, but she didn't consider that it could occur because she had an inkling who her next incarnation was, and it wasn't someone from the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy. She knew because the Mystic Diviner in her sect already told the vessel of her Truesoul resides in the same galaxy, which meant the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy.

Only… in the vast Greater Realm that spanned across a tremendous amount of powers, finding a person was easier said than done.

"Likewise, I can't allow a Truesoul clone of my ally to exist either, so I'll help you track your next incarnation down." Davis offered her more benefits.

He had seen a unique karmic thread extending out from Lady Thunderwraith and disappearing into the void. By following it, he should be able to track her next incarnation down. It was that easy for him.

"Poor soul…" Fairy Thunderblaze couldn't help but pity the next incarnation of Lady Thunderwraith.

The latter opened her mouth, ignoring their sentiments.

"The benefits you throw at me are truly tempting. However, I have a doubt. These Elders you mentioned, how powerful are they? I know your Davis Family is still a growing power. My Demonheart Shadow Palace also has two ancestors who have surpassed the Divine Exalt Stage. Do you think our power can fight them?"

"…"
