Chapter 4722 You Created It?
For ghosts to enter the Empyrean Stage, Davis learned from Yin Li that they needed all seven physical souls.
How they would reproduce these lacking physical souls is beyond him, but he guessed that they should have the necessary resources in their sect grounds or at least know the whereabouts to aid their disciples in remembering the time they had been living, so that they could hunt their next incarnation.
However, what about the stage above it?
The Godskull was similar to the manifestation of a Truesoul. Without the Truesoul, how could they even think of entering the realm of divinity?
He was even doubtful whether the ghosts even contained the three spiritual souls in the first place.
However, what was clear was that Lady Thunderwraith not only knew about Godskull, but she also knew of the existence of the second level. Moreover, she also displayed signs of knowing about what the three spiritual souls signified.
From this, Davis understood that the ghost lady before him was quite knowledgeable.
"True." Lady Thunderwraith slowly said, "We ghosts lack a Truesoul and must fight the next incarnation who shares our Truesoul in order to be able to enter the Divine Exalt Stage. However, finding our next incarnation is easier said than done. Unorthodox methods such as plundering that descendant's soul might work, but the chances are very less unless we find an extremely compatible one."
'Your entire existence and cultivation method is already unorthodox…' Davis had the urge to quip, but he refrained.
Instead, he nodded, "So after entering the Empyrean Stage and finding a semblance of your Truesoul appear within yourself, you will use it to locate the next incarnation so that you could devour them and obtain the Truesoul?"
"Yes." Lady Thunderwraith nodded lightly, "Still, it's very difficult. Not only can the next incarnation die anytime, it could be anywhere within the eight galaxies or some heaven-forbidden region that is not open to the True Immortal World. In that case, we can only continue to live as ghosts for the rest of our lives. Moreover, the next incarnation can die, and the more incarnations that follow suit, the fewer chances we'll be able to sense them. It's because our Truesoul connection would falter, and even the Truesoul would refuse to come back to us at that point after getting cleansed by the Reincarnation Cycle many times."
"Furthermore, if our next or subsequent incarnations enter the Exalt Stage, we would be at a great risk. After all, you know what the unique tribulation that descends in the Exalt Stage Tribulation is."
"…" Davis and Fairy Thunderblaze were clueless.
Seeing their reactions, Lady Thunderwraith frowned behind her veiled hat, "You don't know?"
The two of them were impressed with her knowledge, but they shook their heads.
"Then I'll refrain from saying it." Fairy Thunderwraith was confused.
The two people before her were more powerful than her. They also knew about Godskull and the second level, not to mention knowing the importance of having to learn about the three spiritual souls. However, they didn't know about the unique tribulation factor of the Exalt Stage. She was a bit confused since powerful supreme geniuses were privy to most secrets, or rather, because they were privy to most secrets, they had to be powerful enough to be at the peak among the young supreme geniuses.
Davis and Fairy Thunderblaze were a little disappointed about what the Exalt Stage's unique tribulation factor was, but they could guess. It probably had something to do with the soul, from how she mentioned it while they were discussing the Truesoul.
Nonetheless, Davis had another idea in mind.
This ghost was fearless. He needed powerful people at his side to be able to cross his future battles and woes.
"Since you can't return and risk losing this resource, why don't you join my power?" Davis asked.
Fairy Thunderblaze cast a glance at him in shock. He didn't even leave female ghosts!?
Davis noticed her dubious gaze and chuckled at Lady Thunderwraith, who also seemed more confused, "I don't have any ill intentions toward you. Since our give and take exchange works somewhat- after you would help us enter the inner region and get some treasures, of course, I would be willing to welcome you to my power, the Davis Family."
"The Davis Family…" Lady Thunderwraith could swear that she had heard it somewhere in this journey.
Where exactly…?
As she pondered what kind of supreme power it was, she quivered ever so lightly.
Her eyes went wide as she gazed at the purple-robed man and recognized his features for the first time as she superimposed them with another character who was said to have the same features.
"Oh, you finally know who I am?" Davis noticed her reaction with an odd smile, "We don't have any Elders, or rather, I'm the Founder and the Elders are under me and incredibly faithful, so you won't get your resources taken away. And I really want to see which Exalt or Primarch is bold enough to offend my power. The consequences of their actions will be steep, so you can defect without worry unless, of course, your soul has been bound by one of your elders or your sect."
"…"
Lady Thunderwraith's aura was cold, but she herself was experiencing a blazing heat in the soul for the first time, as though she was put into a furnace.
The man in front of her could totally kill her without needing any reason whatsoever. He wasn't just a powerful, supreme genius than her but an Anarchic Divergent. Yet, he was inviting her to her power.
"Aa-ah~" Fairy Thunderblaze let out a sigh, "And here I said that we shouldn't be invading each other's privacy. So much for that…"
She shook her head, her black eyes gleaming, "I'm Fairy Thunderblaze, also a Divergent."
She reintroduced herself.
Lady Thunderwraith's big bosoms heaved, her spectral form flickering as though she wanted to leave. However, she held her instincts back and opened her mouth.
"We ghosts prefer to be unbound when it comes to the soul. As for the matter of my defecting and entering your power, I'll have to put it under consideration until we make it out alive here."
"Fair enough." Davis nodded.
He wasn't surprised she didn't give her answer on the spot. Anyone with a capacity to think would be rattled and scared when faced with an Anarchic Divergent, even if it was a ghost. After all, they were considered to be innately evil existences existing solely to ruin the world.
He wouldn't even be surprised if she had outright rejected it and chosen death. But a ghost wouldn't be righteous, so he guessed she would try to fool them by saying she would join to protect her soul and escape later.
However, to get a powerful Divine Exalt with a level two Godskull on his side, he added something that would make her reconsider, even if she wanted out.
"As long as you can join my power, I'll give you the Inspirited Truesoul Reanimation Technique."
"…!?" Lady Thunderwraith's eyes went wide in shock.
Davis chuckled as he saw this indifferent ghost display two unexpected reactions in a short amount of time.
"Yes, as the name suggests, it allows one to rekindle their soul imprint in the Empyrean Stage, which is the amalgamation of three spiritual souls and recover their Truesoul. It should also work on ghosts as long as they possess their three spiritual souls. In other words, you will no longer have the need to find your next incarnation, or if you still need to do so, you can battle it out with them on an equal footing as possessors of Truesouls of the same Soul Quintessence."
"…"
Lady Thunderwraith couldn't be any more dumbfounded.
This man not only knew about Truesoul but even the origin of the Truesoul, the Soul Quintessence, which she knew nothing about other than its name, but to her, what's more ridiculous was that he knew how to restore the Truesoul.
That was a technique not even the Demonheart Shadow Palace possesses! Or at the very least, she hadn't heard of anyone possessing such a technique!
"Y-You created it…?" She asked the impossible, her lips quivering.
"No," Davis's lips couldn't help but curl in pride, "It's one of my sweet wives, my pride and joy, who accompanied me from my childhood, Ellia Davis."
