Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4724 Taking Momentary Shelter

Chapter 4724  Taking Momentary Shelter

Davis turned speechless.

Two ancestors above the Divine Exalt Stage? Even the Void Reflection Palace only had one True Deity level character as far as he could tell from Awudan's memories. Besides, he assumed Divine Exalts would kill other Divine Exalts who practiced the same cultivation manual so they could gather all the faith energy for themselves.

For Divine Exalts and True Deities to share that kind of resource that determines the increase in their prowess would be quite rare.

Awudan was also of the mind that Divine Exalts would have multiple Exalt subordinates, but not the Divine Exalt who practices the same cultivation manual. There would inevitably be some clash.

It seemed like a congregation of ghosts wasn't simple at all.

Nonetheless, Davis didn't hide the truth.

"We'll flip and collapse instantly."

An amused yet soft laughter echoed from the corner as Fairy Thunderblaze giggled.

Lady Thunderwraith nodded, thinking that should be the case. If he had said otherwise, she would've determined that he was either trying to scam her or take advantage of her ghost cultivation. The chances that he would have a backer capable of fighting those ancestors were abysmal. Otherwise, why would he need to even recruit her?

"But rest assured. It's not like we're clueless." Davis continued, "We have already charted most of our paths and secured resources that will quickly boost our cultivation to the peak of the Exalt Stage within a hundred years. My family already has two Exalt powerhouses, and both of them are incredibly strong."

"…" A ripple of shock emerged in the wraith's eyes.

"Indeed." Fairy Thunderblaze added, "I heard Exalt Stage cultivators would take millions of years to even step into the next level within the stage. His family bid farewell to that kind of gruesome and endless cultivation time required to reach the Level Nine Exalt Stage by gathering so many resources at the Exalt Grade. If they don't die, they will be a force to reckon with. If there were a gambling house betting on their survival, I would undoubtedly bet on them and rake in an extreme amount of wealth."

"…" Davis momentarily turned to look at Fairy Thunderblaze.

Their gazes met, and she smiled with belief behind her veil. Again, she didn't refuse to elaborate, prompting Davis to ask.

"What brought about this change? Haven't you always thought my wives drag me down and I'm not using my full potential?"

Fairy Thunderblaze moved her gaze away, "Do not misunderstand."

"Thanks to the opening of this secret realm, your wives could follow you and keep up with your cultivation and increase their prowess above supreme geniuses. Due to this, they're no longer dragging you down. However, don't think it will happen again. They will undoubtedly reach their limit one day or another because resources above Exalt Grade are no longer abound. It's unknown if they even exist in this era."

"…" Davis's expression turned somber.

He looked at her angrily with narrowed brows, but her words couldn't be anymore further from the truth.

Among his wives, everyone diligently cultivated, but there was one who wasn't the case. It was Shea. Her talent was low. Even if she diligently cultivated like the others, she might lag behind and ultimately die at the end of her lifespan even if they manages to survive all ordeals. After all, she wasn't keen on cultivating and only wanted to live a peaceful and motherly life with him.

Naturally, he wouldn't let her die but scour the heaven and earth for life-prolonging methods on top of having his own and Everlight's expertise in life-extending techniques.

Regardless, the weight of that sentence still pressed down on him. Not everyone could keep up continuously. They would sooner or later hit their limit without prime resources to improve their talent and comprehension. He absolutely abhorred the reality of that.

Fairy Thunderblaze's heart shook as she felt his intense stare turning angrier. She reluctantly added, "I do admit they're more capable than I thought, sometimes eclipsing me."

"Hmph!"

Davis coldly harrumphed as he looked away, not realizing the tremor Fairy Thunderblaze felt. She turned and glared at him, her heart heavy and somber, suppressing the emotions that tried to swell and got stuck in her throat.

"Did I say something false?" She took a deep breath and asked.

"You're targeting Shea yet again." Davis cast a glance at her.

Fairy Thunderblaze went speechless. The face of that woman didn't even cross her mind, making her only feel angrier yet also aggrieved.

"Why must you always compare me with her? Are you blind!?"

"You're the blind one for not acknowledging her back then! I always saw you as an absolute beauty until you ruined it yourself!"

"You-"

Fairy Thunderblaze was about to respond emotionally when she heard him say something that made her dumbfounded. She momentarily forgot what she was about to say and stood there like a statue, unable to respond for a few seconds.

"I'm going to monitor the surroundings…"

Davis scoffed lightly before he left the abandoned shack.

"…"

Lady Thunderwraith could only watch them as though she didn't exist in this time and space.

'As expected, their relationship is beyond complicated…' She inwardly nodded.

It seemed like they just didn't want to admit it or had an extreme difference in opinions that they lived in different worlds. Regardless, she felt like she could use this to escape if push comes to shove.

"Do you love him?" Her cold voice echoed.

It sounded with some emotion, no longer detached.

Awakened by her voice, Fairy Thunderblaze's bosoms heaved as she took a few breaths.

"It doesn't matter. I'm only looking out for the best. It doesn't have to be him." She coldly responded.

"The upheaval in your emotions says otherwise."

"Shut up~"

Fairy Thunderblaze cast a cold glare, her black eyes shining crimson as mild sparks of golden divine lightning flickered. However, she did maintain her vigilance, so she quickly withdrew her energy. Otherwise, those innumerable bloody giants will be upon them.

The two of them went silent.

After some time, Davis returned, "The coast is clear. Let's head further inside and finish this quickly."

"I agree."

Fairy Thunderblaze stepped forward and went outside. Soon, their group ventured further with the help of Lady Thunderwraith's ghostly aura.

They came across the blood giants. However, they were busy with nurturing the many crimson blobs sporadically across the villages and towns, making their hearts tremble with shock as they could all contain Exalt Grade Blood Essence Orbs. It felt ridiculous since the Realm Calamity itself was limited at the Empyrean Stage because of the barrier.

In that case, just how long was it nurturing these orbs? Hundreds of millions of years? Billions?

Just what was it doing!?
