The day itself went quite well. Sheva was grateful for the fact that Anna didn't ask him to stroll around further, as right now, he felt like his legs were about to give up already. In the end, they decided to do a little picnic there, using one of the park benches close to the hydro station.
The place was romantic, right next to the clean river, where they could see the bottom of it really well. This was definitely not the sight that they could see in Jakarta, and they quite enjoyed it. Being able to relax with the sound of water flowing behind them and getting surrounded by the lush forest that helps them hide from the scorching sun, everything is set perfectly for this beautiful date.
Right as they sat, Anna also started to unload her bag, taking out all the food and snacks that she had brought from the hotel. Honestly, Sheva was quite embarrassed here, not being able to do anything except watch the girl in front of him doing everything to have a great date. It seemed that she had already prepared for this beforehand, and that was why the girl could control the flow of the date flawlessly.
They spent the entire afternoon just chilling there, chatting and laughing about everything. There, Sheva learned about Anna's childhood with Claudia and how they started playing chess, and in return, he also talked a lot about his life, even to the point of telling her about his deceased father.
Somehow, the awkward situation that both teenagers had imagined beforehand would happen didn't even exist here. They both thought that at some point, they would be too embarrassed to act mushy-mushy, especially considering how embarrassed they were at anything related to each other. However, once they started chatting, their chemistry kicked in, and they were able to chat about everything with ease.
"You know what, this is like a perfect date coming from a fairy tale, you know?" Anna sighed dreamily.
"Oh?" One of Sheva's eyebrows rose slightly while the boy himself picked another chunk of bread to munch. "How so?"
"I mean, just look at us, strolling around while enjoying nature, having a picnic next to a river, chatting and laughing over everything with none of us taking our phones out here… Honestly, isn't this a dream date?" She sighed with a huge smile on her face. Then, that smile turned into a mischievous one as the girl added, "The only minus point is you struggling to walk here, Shev. Come on, it is just 1.8 km, not that far. It is pretty embarrassing, you know?" She wiggled her finger playfully.
Sheva froze immediately when Anna mentioned that, somehow having to hold back the urge to choke. He turned around quickly and glared at her, just to find out the girl was giggling at him. The expression only lasted for a few seconds, as hearing the melodious giggle from her was enough to soothe his heart. Still, as a boy, Sheva felt the need to defend himself here.
"It is not my fault, okay? I am still exhausted here!" He retorted.
Anna just smiled silently at him, and after a few seconds under the gaze of those beautiful eyes, Sheva finally gave in, turning away his face with a slight red shade appeared on his cheek. "That is unfair, you know?" He muttered lowly.
"Oh, I know." She covered her mouth while also letting out the giggle that was enough to melt his heart. "Oh… What a fun day… Unfortunately, we have to go back right now." She checked the watch on her wrist and started to pack back all the food and snacks that they brought here.
"Wait, we are done already?" Sheva asked, couldn't even hide the disappointment in his tone. Even though the boy himself didn't really have any experience on a date and felt like he did a terrible job here, overall, he enjoyed his experience today and didn't really want this to end soon.
"Who is saying that this is over?" Anna just smiled, tapping his nose gently with her finger. "We are still going to hang out later, but if we are not going back right now, we will probably spend half of the journey in this forest, and I really don't want that. So, let's change the place to the park behind the tournament venue where Sister Medina and I went yesterday morning, okay?"
Sheva's eyes lit up immediately when he heard that, not for the new place to date, but for the fact that the date wasn't over yet. He helped Anna tidy up everything, and right after that—and after taking a few photos, of course—they left Taubenloch Gorge to go back to Biel.
Right as they arrived at the park that Anna mentioned, the sky was already dark, and the street lamp started to light up every corner of the city. People could also be seen still hanging around, as this season was the best time to stroll at night. As for security… Well, Switzerland was one of the safest countries in Europe, so no one was worried about anything here.
"Man… I love this country…" Sheva couldn't help but sigh, marveling once again at the massive difference between this place and Jakarta.
"Yeah, not gonna lie, but every corner of this city seems to be designed as a perfect place to date, you know?" Anna added with another sigh.
This time, they didn't really chat here, just walking around aimlessly while also enjoying the bustling night in Biel. The silence didn't last quite long, though, as right in one corner of the park, they found people gathering around there with some of them even shouting excitedly. Sheva had some sort of a déjà vu feeling hitting him right now, yet his brain couldn't pick up from what memories this feeling came from. In the end, he turned to Anna, who also did the same, and as if they were connected on the same wavelength, the two teenagers said the exact same sentence at the same time.
"Shall we check out what is going on there?"
