The new supervisor is in place, and the field department finally has a leader. However, Jimmy hasn't met them yet; it was Mrs. Mason who had Isabel inform Jimmy.
Although it's unclear if Mrs. Mason has discussed Jimmy's situation with Deputy Director Dave, Isabel's message to Jimmy still carries a bit of a warning: be diligent and behave at work.
Jimmy hasn't been involved in anything else, and now he's in a completely idle state, much like before. He barely participates in affairs of the public affairs office.
The guys from Wang Boli also provided the videos. They sent them directly to Jimmy's bar and handed them over to Woody, who then passed them on to Jimmy.
They were somewhat excessive in their methods, but it's okay; at least they didn't deliver them straight to his home or his office. Using the bar as a transit point, Jimmy could accept. If they had really sent it to his home, that would signal something else entirely.
He opened his computer to check, and the two USB drives contained recordings of several of Jimmy's past open combat encounters, mostly featuring him in one-vs-many battles. They included footage of the fight outside the warehouse during the bombing case and the surveillance video when he took down MS13's men to save Ruiz, as well as several street fight recordings.
Some of these Jimmy himself hadn't seen before. Although the media had aired some of his battle footage previously, they were not as comprehensive as those contained in these two USB drives. The intelligence-gathering capabilities of Wang Boli and his crew indeed proved to be quite strong.
That evening, after having dinner outside with Nia, Jimmy returned to his study to review these videos, especially the recordings of the two street ambushes. At the time, he didn't feel much, but looking back now, there was plenty of room for improvement.
Nia brought Jimmy some black tea. Under Jimmy's influence, Nia had also started brewing tea at home, although mostly as a showpiece.
Nia: "What are you watching? Oh, I've seen this video."
Jimmy: "Yeah, I got the video from someone else, including a few I've never seen before."
Nia immediately came over, sitting directly on Jimmy's lap: "Let me have a look, too."
Jimmy reopened the video, not only playing it but also narrating the circumstances back then, his strategies and thoughts for handling the enemies, and discussing possible improvements. The video, initially not that long, became a combat breakdown and analysis, taking up much more time.
Nia truly knew how strong Jimmy was. She had accepted Jimmy because of his combat skills, surpassing those of his peers at the time. Revisiting these past combat recordings, and with Jimmy's own explanations, her interest was very high.
Thus, a night of both pain and joy was spent diligently.

Finally, Nia awaited her time off, wanting Jimmy to join her for dinner at home in the evening. After being busy for a long while, they could finally have a good rest.
After dinner, the family sat in the living room chatting. Jimmy, initially lost in his own thoughts, was suddenly interrupted by Kevin: "Jimmy, you've been in the logistics department for quite a while now. Is there any news regarding a transfer?"
Jimmy: "Huh? No news. It's recently inconvenient to adjust positions."
Kevin frowned slightly: "Inconvenient?"
Jimmy nodded: "Hughes, our previous field supervisor, was forcibly retired. Now, a new supervisor was transferred from Atlanta."
Kevin stood up, "Come on, let's talk in the study."
Jimmy followed Kevin into the study. He took whiskey and glasses from the shelf and headed to the sofa area. Kevin took a cigar box from a small cabinet next to him and handed a cigar to Jimmy. It was the only room in the house where they could freely smoke cigars, as it had a separate ventilation system.
Kevin: "Tell me, what's going on?"
Jimmy: "It's somewhat sensitive to disclose publicly, but you should know. Our people are investigating a murder case involving a relative of a certain consultant. Then we accidentally obtained some clues pointing to a bigshot, a very big shot. During the bigshot's investigation, we caught a financier closely connected with him. Subsequently, the bigshot exerted pressure from the Judicial Department, and headquarters arranged for Hughes' forced retirement.
The successor for the field supervisor wasn't appointed through normal procedures; instead, someone was directly transferred from Atlanta. Currently, it seems there are some issues at headquarters that need addressing. The original plan was to arrange my return to the field soon. A few days ago, Deputy Director Dave personally told me it's temporarily inconvenient to transfer me, advising me to wait a bit longer."
Kevin, puffing on his cigar, contemplated Jimmy's words. Although a big shot in the NYPD, he had no insights into dealings within a federal agency like the FBI. If not for Jimmy, he wouldn't have even asked.
Kevin: "So, does that mean you're going to stay in the public relations department?"
Jimmy nodded, "Without any surprises, for sure. With a new supervisor, returning will likely require many procedures. After all, she's not Hughes. The key is that it's still uncertain who this new supervisor really is, whose people she belongs to. What is certain is she isn't someone appointed by our office's upper management."
Kevin: "Do you have any thoughts, then? Any plans for what to do next?"
Jimmy: "I have some ideas, though they might not be easy to accomplish. I'm considering taking advantage of the current downtime to upgrade my skills. As you know, I graduated from a community college. Whether for future promotion or to do something else, I need to take another step forward."
