Jimmy had just returned home when he received a call from Hughes.
Hughes: "Jimmy, where are you?"
Jimmy: "I'm at home, why? Hughes."
Hughes: "Come to the office as soon as you can."
Jimmy: "OK, heading out now."
He was suddenly recalled from vacation, something must have happened. Jimmy had just returned anyway, hadn't even unpacked his gear, so he headed out right away.
Arriving at Hughes' office, Jimmy hadn't even greeted him when Hughes gestured "close the door."
"Hughes, what happened?" Jimmy closed the door and sat down in front of Hughes' desk.
"Have you been involved in anything recently?" Hughes asked Jimmy expressionlessly.
Jimmy: "No, I called you when I returned from Dallas, and I've been resting at home since then."
Hughes frowned, "The tech department just sent a message that someone accessed your mobile tracking information through the DHS system."
Raising an eyebrow, Jimmy asked in surprise, "Why? I have nothing to do with them."
Hughes: "Think again, was there any time you had dealings with them?"
Jimmy shook his head: "No, I've only been in Dallas and New York recently, and haven't done much. The previous issues in Texas and New Mexico had nothing to do with the DHS, at most it was just the CIA retrieving some information."
Hughes shook his head: "I added you to the warning list after returning to the office, there was no investigation of prior records, this inquiry into your records should be a recent matter."
Jimmy: "I get it. Last time a DHS agent came to assist with the investigation, and afterward, they casually gave a reason to cover up the attack, maybe someone's still targeting me. Hughes, give me some time."
Hughes nodded: "Go ahead, clean things up before coming back to work."
Jimmy stood up: "I'll head back then, goodbye, Hughes."
Jimmy left Hughes' office, greeted Peter and the others, and then left. Peter's team is closest to Hughes' office, and Jones still looked as spirited as ever, the consultant was also there, sitting in front of Jones' position. It seems Peter's team remains very stable, not a bit has changed.
Jimmy exited the office, ordered a coffee at the nearby café, and sat down. It seems the news of Rick's death has already spread, and this investigation is most likely stirred up by Greg, they must be very concerned about Rick's death, and coincidentally investigated Jimmy's whereabouts to determine if he had a hand in it.
Things need to move faster, originally Jimmy thought he could handle things on his own, but given the current situation, acting alone would waste time and risk exposure, it's time to call for external help.
Jimmy didn't have much external help he could turn to, especially no one in DC. He originally wanted to call Justin to find someone when he came out of Caitlin's, but now it seems Justin might be too far away, and dealing with it nearby is the only option. Sigh, who knows how big a favor he'll owe this time.
Sipping his coffee, Jimmy called Winston.
Jimmy: "Hey, Winston, how have you been lately?"
Winston: "Oh, Jimmy, long time no see. Is something up?"
Jimmy: "It's been a while, are you at the hotel? Can we meet and chat?"
Winston: "Of course, I've been here all along."
Jimmy: "OK, see you soon."
Knowing Winston was at the hotel, Jimmy finished his coffee, went out, and drove to the Intercontinental Hotel. The valet took Jimmy's car for parking as he entered and approached the front desk.
The front desk was still manned by Charon, Jimmy already knew his name from when he came with Justin before. Black suit, white shirt, he seemed to always dress like this. Charon placed his hands in front of his waist and nodded slightly: "Welcome to the Intercontinental Hotel, how can I assist you?"
Jimmy: "Hi, I'm Jimmy. Is the manager in? I have an appointment."
Charon smiled and said: "One moment please." He picked up the phone and dialed, "Sir, there's a gentleman here to see you, he's Jimmy. Alright."
Charon hung up the phone and gestured: "The manager is on the top floor, please follow me."
Jimmy smiled and nodded: "Thank you."
Charon called another staff member to the front desk and led Jimmy to the elevator, up to the rooftop terrace.
Winston sat at a small table shaded by a large umbrella, a book was on the table alongside a coffee cup, and there was a tray with a coffee pot beside it.
Winston stood up and shook Jimmy's hand in welcome, "Long time no see, Jimmy. Please sit. Thank you, Charon."
Charon came over, took a coffee cup from the tray, poured a cup of coffee for Jimmy, nodded to both men, and left the terrace.
Winston: "Jimmy, to what do we owe the pleasure?"
Jimmy: "I need your help."
Winston: "Of course, anything at all."
Jimmy: "Do you have people in Washington D.C. who can work?"
Winston: "Go on."
Jimmy: "I need to take out two people, but I can't put out a bounty, both my and the targets' identities are quite sensitive. Do you have anyone who can do it?"
Winston: "Of course, my friend. What kind of people do you need? Any requirements?"
Jimmy: "They shouldn't cause too much commotion, won't be loose-lipped, and most importantly, I need skilled hands."
Winston nodded, gesturing with his coffee cup: "No problem, I'll arrange it."
Jimmy also picked up his coffee cup: "Thank you very much, I'll deliver the target's information tonight."
