My attention was now set on the leader of this group of assassins since he was the one responsible for everything they did. I'm sure he won't just die here since he was letting everyone else fight first for a reason.
Tiring out the enemy so he can just do clean up, it is kind of smart in a lot of ways. I don't really blame him for going with a plan like that, except a lot of your people will die in the process.
That's why I could never wait for my group to weaken the enemy.
I wasn't very far away from him now either, we were only a couple of feet from each other. Within talking distance at the very least.
"You are definitely a lot stronger than you seem. I was baffled by your fight against Thomas." Leo says with some excitement in his voice.
"So you don't mind that Thomas is dead?" I question with a bit of anger in my voice.
"Comrades come and go, it is what happens in this world." Leo answers with no hesitation in his voice.
Someone who can just toss lives aside like that is truly a monster. A monster that needs to be slain with everything I got.
"I'll definitely look forward to our fight so don't worry about that. Today I must make a tactical Retreat, surely you understand." Leo speaks with a bit of disappointment.
Before I can respond he disappears through some strange blue portal looking thing. A few others who were alive seem to do the same thing.
That reminded me that Luna survived so I turned around to see if she was gone, she wasn't there anymore either. Seems he ran away with the ones who survived after all.
Ghost, Velia, and Akina seemed to be alright after all of the fighting they did as well which is a good sign.
So I made my way over to them since the fighting was over for the time being, feeling the pain and fatigue catching up to me quickly.
I have a strong feeling that in going to pass out at any moment here... Thomas really did a number on me with that fight before the bloodlust decided to kick in.
At least we handled everything for the time being so I should be able to rest for a little while.
"I'd say we handled that pretty well." Akina says with a bit of a cocky tone to her voice.
"You look like you went through hell." Velia speaks up while looking at me.
"Definitely did in some ways. I just need a small nap." I respond while slowly losing my balance.
Within the next moment I felt myself fall forward before feeling that nice warm sensation. I'm assuming one of them got me before I fell onto the ground.
At least I'll be able to get some rest while they keep watch. I'm pretty positive that they'll also take me out of the open.
I could feel everything disappear around me as I pass out.
At least you have some time to think about everything.
I don't think humans usually think while they are asleep typically. I'm not going to speak about that any further, just in case I'm completely wrong.
You're a special case either way since you are back here in the abyss, or something similar I guess you could say.
I thought it felt a bit different from the usual feeling. It didn't really feel like I was floating or like I was covered by complete darkness. The place around me felt kind of peaceful, almost like it was a good place to be.
Of course it is peaceful. I brought you to my room, at least that's a way to refer to it. Open your eyes and you'll see.
As I opened my eyes I start to see a completely different space around me. It was literally like a girls bedroom, reminded me a lot of Minami's room.
Some posters around the room, manga, and even some... Plushies?
"There we go. I can speak to you like normal now." Rika says with a bit of relief.
"I always forget that it doesn't have to be in my head once I'm here." I respond with a bit of an embarrassed tone.
"Don't worry about it. Also my room is great, I know." Rika says while sitting down on her bed.
I didn't really experience much growing up since the whole collapse happened, otherwise I'd probably have seen a girl's room outside of Minami's. It was a completely different experience than seeing your sisters room.
It was also shocking to think that Rika had her own room in a place like this. I guess she wouldn't just be floating around like I usually do.
"It's definitely unique. Kind of matches you actually." I reply while looking around the room.
I didn't expect her to have a room like this though since she isn't necessarily from my world. She also talked about being from a different world before so I didn't think she'd have anything like this.
Maybe she collected some stuff over time and made this room into what it is today.
Could've been something she did before I met her since I don't know entirely about her past yet. There's still a lot to learn about Rika so one of these days I need to get to know her more.
"I'm glad you think so. I know it can be kind of surprising since I'm not really from your world, that's exactly why I wanted to make it feel like home." Rika said before laying back on her bed.
"I appreciate you trying to make me feel at home in here. Do you come here when I'm not around?" I ask curiously.
"Sometimes. I like to read some of the manga that I collected over time, it can be a good time killer when you are busy." Rika answers politely.
I take a seat in one of the chairs in the room since it would feel rude to just sit on the bed out of nowhere. This room was definitely a familiar environment for me to be in, it was kind of nice.
There hasn't really been a familiar environment in a long time, not one that reminds me of home at least.
Rika also seems to be a rather caring person... Not that I ever assumed that she wasn't.
"What happens when that other...me shows up?" I question with a worried tone.
"I just retreat here until everything is over. There's not a whole lot that I can do when bloodlust completely takes over. Back then it was just us but over time, it got worse." Rika answered.
I always wondered what happened to her since she used to be there going through it with me. It used to just be me and her against whoever the enemy was that we were facing.
I'd also hear her talking about killing as well which was a lot different from hearing my own voice.
"So do you ever see the other me? The one who is more hateful and full of rage?" I ask with a curious tone.
"Not really. I'd say it is more like a feeling that arrives and I don't really tend to stick around when it happens." Rika responds with a bit of a nervous tone.
"That doesn't really sound like a fun time for you." I say while looking towards her.
It sucks that Rika is always here, by herself. She is quite beautiful and I honestly wouldn't mind having her alongside me in the real world.
The others would have to get used to her but they all got pretty good talking with one another. Most of them seem like they are friends now, but I don't know what'll happen if anything romantic happens.
I've already shared a bed with three of them at the same time, but all of them at once... I don't know.
"It isn't that bad, I get a nice break in here usually. I'm more worried about you half the time since you are the one experiencing the bloodlust in real time." Rika replies with worry in her voice.
"I'm usually good at shutting it down so you have nothing to worry about." I assure her while leaning back in the chair.
It's still hard to get used to people worrying about me, even after all the time that's passed. I still feel like it would be easier if I was on my own sometimes but I enjoy their company.
Having strong companions also makes a difference in all the fights we encounter as well. The biggest problem is that I worry about what will happen to them, more than what will happen to me.
I wouldn't want any of them to die while fighting by my side.
"I appreciate the reassurance. Seems you're starting to wake up though." Rika says with a bit of a sad tone.
I never really knew when I was waking up... It was always sudden.
"I'll see you again soon." I respond with a small smile.
