SSS GRADE TALENT: Master of the Heavenly Path

Chapter 52: LINKING A PulseID

Hearing those two people, Reith had a brief sense of understanding of what the Alliance was doing.

Those two men talked about rescuing a person's daughter, but then she was already dead.

It made Reith's skin crawl from the inside, and it was even more frightening that he didn't know the full details of the story.

"I'll find out when I get inside there," Reith said, and he resumed walking, heading to the door of the Alliance.

He waited in the shortest queue.

When his time came, he gave them his identity card.

The guard who inspected the card gave him a short glance after swiping it on the reader.

Reith gave the guard the same look, and his eyes went to the tag on his shirt. Greden.

"What's your name?" Greden asked with a grunt.

"Reith Sorakaze."

This wasn't the name on the card, but Reith simply wanted to be honest.

There was no telling what was happening in the mind of a man.

"Okay."

Reith already knew the card showed different details because Kane had told him that it was registered under a different name, Kion.

But he guessed the guard already knew what a tempered card looked like and was merely trying to satisfy curiosity.

The inside of the building was just as pristine as when he had last seen it, with people moving around every corner. There were even some conversing on the floors above.

The floor of the lobby was crystal clear, displaying the reflection of everyone that walked past.

The air in the lobby hit his lungs like a block of iced water.

"It's that crystal," Reith said, his eyes focusing on the gem that stood in the center of the whole lobby, rotating slowly.

Although the Hana wasn't as pure as the one in Verity's room, it would be a lot easier to absorb this one compared to the one in his dorm.

Refilling his Hana reserve and core with the energy from his dorm had taken him a day and a half before he could even get into the main practice of his technique.

He had calculated several times in his practice dimension on how to cut down the large usage of energy needed to practice that one spell.

But the issue he was facing now was finding a suitable place to practice freely.

From Reith's calculations, the only place he could do that was out in the open, among the mountains and trees, where there were no humans, so he would have no worries about hurting anyone.

"You've been standing there for a while. Are you looking for something?" someone came to stand by his side.

"I see you're staring at the mission board. Has your team taken any missions for today?" Without waiting for Reith's response, the man kept talking like he had known him for a while.

Not wanting to sound rude, Reith shook his head. "I just became an adventurer." He turned his gaze to the man and held out his hand.

"Oh, a newbie!" The man grabbed Reith's hand, holding it in a firm grasp. "Welcome to the Alliance Spire," he said with a wide smile.

To say the truth, he had been looking at Reith for a while, and it was obvious this youngster was a first-timer.

Like, who would just stand in one place instead of rushing for fresh missions like everyone else?

"Thank you, sir," Reith said politely.

The man nodded. "Say, since you aren't in any team, would you like to join mine? It's completely safe. We already have the strength, we just need the numbers, and you'd be compensated for it."

"... " Reith opened his mouth, but the man didn't give him a chance.

"Would you like to join us? It's going to be very easy, and you don't need to fight. Have you gotten your PulseID?" the man asked.

Internally, Max was hoping this youngster would listen to him. Once he could get one more person, their team would be complete for that one mission.

Reith raised a brow. "PulseID?"

This was the first time he was hearing about it. Even Kane hadn't told him.

"Yeah! You can go to the receptionist. If you have a card, they can simply link it to you." The man was finally seeing that his efforts were paying off.

Now that he had gotten his target's attention, they would feel indebted to him. Especially when he gave them some sort of help.

"Okay, thank you, sir. I'll get my PulseID now. I have to meet the receptionist, right?" Reith turned to the reception area.

The man perked up. "I can take you there. Personally, I'm close with that young witch. Even though she can be feisty, I'm sure she'll assist you as quick as she can."

The man walked forward, his confidence almost blinding the people around him.

Reith quietly walked behind.

He wasn't oblivious to the tactics. He had been used to them while living in the orphanage.

People helping him just to get something in return.

For him, it was okay, as he could say he had no debts to pay.

No debts and no favor left unpaid.

They stood in front of the reception desk, and Reith watched the man do his thing.

"Hi Alice, please, this man here would like to have his PulseID activated. Then he can join my team. Please, can you hurry up with it?" Max asked, flashing a grin at Reith.

Reith nodded his head. Although he hadn't agreed to join this man's team, it was safe to say he had no choice now.

The receptionist didn't look up and kept clicking on her laptop. "I'm a bit busy," she said.

Max instantly lost his aura, especially in front of Reith.

Seeing this, Max quickly tapped on the table. "Alice. Ehem, look up."

Wanting to know who was troubling her, Alice raised her gaze with a frown.

When she saw the man, her gaze softened. "Max! I'm so sorry. Who's the person? I'll do anything for you instantly." Her eyes looked at him as if she were in a trance.

Of course, she would be. The person in front of her was a well-noted adventurer. He was also single, and every lady had been looking to get their hands on him.

Why wouldn't they? A tall, athletic body with shiny golden hair and bright blue eyes. It was like the man was genetically built for the ladies.

And his charms were to die for.

Max knew what he had, and he was willing to use it to his benefit.

He winked at Alice. "So, please, can you help me?" He drew out the word please like it was some magic spell.

Reith closely watched the interaction. This Alice lady was entirely under this man's trap, and he almost chuckled.

"Wait… didn't I fall under his trap too?" Reith couldn't help but think, remembering his earlier conversation with Max.

Looking at everything now, this man had actually used charm on a fellow man!
