Chapter 755: Green Threads in a Dark Castle
Lucien’s wives continue to bring more food for the besieged Dark Elves of the city from the Purple World, earning immense gratitude for the Handsome Devil and his group.
The people are especially thankful to the little elven girl for taking the first step towards their salvation. As some joyful elves lift her onto their shoulders as a brave heroine, Lucien proceeds to Ludmila’s castle with the rest of the group.
He can’t help but look back once more at the child, and the bright, expectant smile on her face makes him smile too.
Lust doesn’t resist sharing her thoughts in his mind. "I thought you might adopt the little elf girl."
Lucien’s smile fades as he continues following Ludmila with a focused expression.
"Helping one elf isn’t enough for me," he responds mentally to Lust. "I want to make this world a safe place so that she and all the other children in her situation can have a better future."
"When did you become the knight of charity?" Lust teases in a mocking tone.
Lucien laughs. "You, of all people, understand me best after all..."
"Okay, no joking now," Lust speaks in a confident tone. "They will be very loyal servants, I bet. And yes, we can keep them protected and thriving like the Blue Star."
"But it won’t be easy," Lucien admits, trying to stay optimistic but also concerned. "We can’t expect a Primordial to come out of the ground and create an impenetrable barrier around the world."
Lust agrees and adds, "And we don’t know when the Gods and Shé Dragons will arrive..."
"Act quickly." They both speak at the same time.
As they communicate mentally, the group enters Ludmila’s grand castle. The architecture is even more somber and beautiful, with tall walls of dark stones and dim lighting.
The place has clearly seen better days, and beyond the dirt and grime in the external area, the interior of the castle has been transformed into a large makeshift hospital.
There were hundreds of injured elven soldiers on the city streets, but those were the ones not in imminent danger, while thousands of seriously wounded individuals are inside the castle.
Most of those at death’s door will likely succumb, as there are too few healers, about one for every hundred injured. Those few elves with healing skills have been working tirelessly for months, exhausted but still striving to save as many lives as possible.
Upon seeing this scene, Lucien can’t help but feel the urge to assist these elves, knowing they will eventually become his loyal soldiers, part of his strength.
His wives understand Lucien’s intent, and Sophia steps forward, her hands glowing with the green magic of life.
But before she starts healing the elves, Lucien holds her hand. "Let Daisy and the others take care of them; we need to find out about your mother’s situation."
Sophia smiles lovingly at Lucien and caresses his face. "My mother isn’t going anywhere, and I can handle this quickly."
Lucien smiles back at Sophia and quickly kisses her lips, then runs his lips over her cheek and chin. "You’re always so calm and loving..."
"How else am I going to continue being your favorite?" she teases while hugging him and stroking his back.
Amelia and Cecilia roll their eyes simultaneously as Lucien’s other sisters also feel a tinge of envy towards Sophia.
Even Eve can’t help but admire Sophia’s devotion to Lucien and how she always prioritizes his objectives over her own.
But Sophia herself doesn’t see it that way, as she trusts Lucien enough to know he will always do what’s best for her and their family, making his goals hers as well.
The exchange of affection is brief, and Sophia’s delicate hands glide down Lucien’s arms until their fingers part, then hers begin to glow green again.
She turns towards the hall filled with sick elves, slowly raises her arms, closes her eyes, and channels her energies.
Although Sloth generally prefers a different kind of ’action,’ she materializes her body behind Sophia to share all her energy in the quickest way possible.
Sophia’s life-giving green energy flows from her body like a dam bursting open, releasing a masterful torrent of water.
Dozens of bright green strands traverse the air, multiplying into hundreds and thousands of healing energy threads.
The elves are initially surprised and even fearful, but Sophia’s energy radiates pure life, healing, and happiness, making her intentions clear.
Those who were at death’s door a second ago are pulled back to life by Sophia’s green energy.
They don’t resist it and let the thousands of bright green strands enter each of them, revitalizing their bodies immediately.
Sophia doesn’t hold back, allowing Lucien and their sisters to witness her current full potential, something extraordinarily beautiful and incredibly powerful.
This display not only showcases her remarkable abilities but also serves as a poignant reminder of the profound impact they can have, changing despair into hope and rejuvenation.
Sophia even revitalizes the elven medics, not only restoring all their energy but also boosting them so they can heal other injured elves throughout the city.
The whole process unfolds in just a few minutes, leaving all the onlookers, especially Ludmila and Svetlana, immensely surprised.
Both elves are profoundly grateful to Sophia for saving those people, one out of love and the other out of remorse.
They are left speechless, witnessing Sophia’s life strands reaching thousands of elves in the castle, and she only stops when the last one receives a portion of her healing energy.
Sophia’s current power is so remarkable that even after such an extensive healing session, she still has some strength left, albeit little. Yet, she pretends to lose her balance and fall, with a clear intention, of course.
"Got you!" Lucien, like all his sisters, can see through her act, but he still catches her swiftly in his arms.
Everyone agrees she deserves a reward, so Lucien holds her in a princess carry and kisses her, now recharging her energies.
The Dark Elves are deeply moved by the sudden improvement in their condition and can’t help but see Sophia as a benevolent deity.
But the scene of her in the arms of the demon creates a contradictory image, like the union of two opposites, except that Sophia physically resembles Lucien quite naturally.
As they applaud Sophia, the goddess of life, Svetlana feels envious, and Ludmila again looks at Lucien with new eyes.
The astute and mature elf is very grateful to Sophia, as are all the other elves, but she understands that it wasn’t just an act of charity but an act of love from one lover to another.
This realization adds another layer to Ludmila’s perception of Lucien and his family, highlighting the depth and complexity of their relationships and commitments.
Indeed, this miracle, made possible by Lucien, causes Ludmila to admire him even more, while also fearing the rapid and powerful growth of his influence over the Dark Elves.
While Ludmila and Lucien are focused on larger issues involving the future of an entire race, other women are preoccupied with much smaller matters.
This is the case for Amelia, who, of course, feels jealous of Sophia. Now, there’s another player on the board, Cecilia, who observes the expression on her daughter’s face.
Cecilia had anticipated that the situation of a brother surrounded by overly protective sisters could spiral out of control with the addition of the seven deadly sins. Still, Lucien’s relationship with Sophia seems to have developed quite rapidly.
She wasn’t sure about Lucien’s relationship with Amelia, but seeing her daughter’s eyes shining with envy makes it clear that they are more than just siblings.
"You do realize that doing that with your brother is never going to look good, right?" she asks in a tone of reproach.
At first, Amelia is embarrassed and can’t even bring herself to look at her mother. Then her eyes are drawn to Sophia receiving all the kisses and caresses from Lucien.
She’s unsure what will happen next or how her relationship with her mother will unfold, but she’s not willing to give up her hard-won place by Lucien’s side.
Wanting to enjoy the reunion with her mother as well, Amelia pretends to take the hint and rests her head on Cecilia’s shoulder.
Cecilia smiles but shakes her head. "You don’t fucking care, do you?"
