Chapter 750: Deceptive Words
All the Dark Elves witnessing Lucien’s scene feel similar emotions regarding the look he gives to Svetlana and Ludmila.
Despite his attempts to be friendly, Lucien’s posture and actions toward women always seem flirtatious; it’s in his nature.
Part of the Dark Elves feel anger towards him while others feel envy, but in reality, most feel a bit of both, both men and women.
Svetlana can’t help but feel excited while Ludmila is actually afraid of Lucien, or rather, how dangerous he can be for stirring so many emotions with just a look.
People can’t easily read Ludmila because she maintains a calm and neutral expression, but Svetlana’s smile easily betrays her feelings.
Artem, still on the ground due to pain and lack of energy, becomes angrier and more frustrated. Just a few minutes ago, he was about to defeat Ludmila and take the city, but now Lucien is stealing all the glory and humiliating him.
Despite considering himself the leader of the army, Artem shares leadership with Svetlana due to the politics of their families, and when the soldiers seem to hesitate in following his order to attack Lucien, the elf can only think about bringing Svetlana back to his side.
He thinks quickly and starts to get up while pointing at Ludmila and shouting for everyone to hear. "I don’t believe this!!"
Artem manages to capture everyone’s attention, including Lucien’s, then quickly proceeds with his plan.
"So the damned traitor made a pact with Demons..." He speaks in a mocking tone and shakes his head.
Those words cause all the elven soldiers to express surprise and concern, including those of the blue army.
Ludmila tries to remain calm, but she notices how such words affect her people, so she quickly responds. "That’s a lie!"
"So why did this demon appear out of nowhere to protect you?" Artem quickly counters with another question while taking potions from his storage ring and drinking them rapidly.
Ludmila understands how Artem is trying to use lies to break the morale of her soldiers and regain control of Svetlana and his own troops.
But without time to plan her words, she can only be sincere and hope everyone believes her.
"My prince has made no pact, and I do not know this demon," she speaks hastily.
Ludmila’s reputation is solid, unlike Artem’s honesty, but the sudden appearance of Lucien and his entire character is very strange, leaving all the soldiers confused.
"Lies!" Artem shouts even louder. "Everyone knows how the traitor lies and manipulates people against our true Queen!"
Although Artem isn’t sure about Lucien’s intentions, the loyalty in his words and gaze are quite real, which all the elves see.
The blue soldiers begin to doubt their leadership, while the green ones find themselves in the most difficult situation of their lives.
They can still feel the pressure of Lucien’s aura upon them, making them feel weak and insignificant.
Of course, they are scared of the Handsome Devil, but they are still soldiers, and dying in battle for what they believe in doesn’t seem like the worst end.
Artem understands that kind of loyalty well, as he feels similarly, so he uses it to further motivate the soldiers.
"If all the harm the traitor has already done to our people is not enough, now he wants to sell our souls to demons!" He points to Lucien and Lust.
"No, no, no..." Ludmila tries to deny Artem’s words, but the reputation of Demons is a significant advantage for him.
"I really just arrived in this world," Lucien speaks loudly for everyone to hear. "And my intentions are friendly, I just need an opportunity to explain."
"We must fight to defend our Queen and our families from such a future!" Artem shouts again, reigniting the flame of battle in the hearts of his soldiers.
The green army prepares to confront Lucien, even if it means their death, and even Svetlana starts to question the intentions of the mysterious Devil.
Lucien can’t help but sigh and look at Ludmila. "I don’t want this to turn into a bloodbath, but I can’t retreat and let you kill each other either."
The beautiful mature elf isn’t sure about almost anything regarding Lucien, but her instincts tell her his intentions are genuinely friendly.
She takes a step towards Artem. "We need to stop this madness, Artem! Dying here won’t do any good for anyone."
"Shut up, you demon-lover whore!" The elf stands up in front of Lucien and insults Ludmila arrogantly.
Lucien gets irritated and prepares to attack the elf, but both Ludmila and Lust step in front of him.
"He wants you to attack him," Lust says.
"That’s right," Ludmila agrees. "If you attack him, the soldiers won’t stop until they are all dead."
Lucien can’t help but feel frustrated; dealing with people like Artem is a hassle. But he remains determined to achieve the best outcome, which isn’t killing thousands of Dark Elves just because they don’t believe in a demon who appeared out of nowhere.
As he tries to think of a solution, Artem manages to recover some of his energy with magical potions and manages to summon his bow again.
He aims at Lucien while giving orders to his soldiers. "We must attack now, or this devil will try to corrupt us with his lies and tricks!"
"YEAH!!!" The soldiers most loyal to Artem begin to advance towards Lucien, determined to die for a noble cause.
Artem also starts to prepare an arrow, but then he is surprised by another mysterious figure descending from the sky.
*Whoosh*
A mysterious person lands between him and Lucien, drawing everyone’s attention. The figure isn’t very tall and is covered by a large gray hood.
Upon seeing this person, Ludmila seems relieved, and while Lucien is curious, Lust appears pleasantly surprised.
"This person..." she begins to communicate with him mentally.
At the same time, the mysterious person removes the hood, revealing a beautiful face adorned with large white eyes, matching her hair.
Lucien immediately recognizes the features of the human woman, as he sees similar features every day on the face of one of his beloveds.
"Amelia’s mother!" He exclaims mentally to Lust.
