Chapter 733: Festive Intrigues: The Girls’ Gifts
While Lucien faces the challenge of getting Amelia, Naomi, Lust, Enny, and Gluttony to get along, his other sisters and wives work together with the whole Crystal City to create the grandest birthday celebration Blue Star has ever seen.
Not only do all the Mermaids and Nagas in the city want to please their King to the utmost, but even the Water Spirit seems to care about nothing but Lucien’s birthday.
She tries to appear cool and serene, but her eyes shine constantly as she changes the weather and geography around Crystal City to make everything more beautiful and festive.
The younger girls are thrilled to see the Water Spirit raise statues of Lucien all over the city and display images of him on water and crystal banners everywhere.
However, the other Sins and some of Lucien’s more experienced wives grow increasingly curious about why such a mysterious being already likes him so much.
In secret, Pride asks Daisy, Helena, and Ghallenna to stay around the Water Spirit, befriend her, and report anything strange.
Of course, even someone as experienced as Helena should struggle to extract valuable information from a being potentially thousands of times her age and power.
But at the same time, the Water Spirit seems like any girl in her twenties, making it easy to befriend her, especially for the younger girls in the group.
For this reason, the trio always keeps such girls nearby as they traverse the city, turning everything into a grand celebration.
After a few hours, sunset finally arrives, and the Water Spirit creates a thin red barrier around the city, giving the atmosphere a particularly demonic flair in honor of Lucien.
Bright and colorful lights are everywhere, making Crystal City incredibly unique, comparable only to cities from a very specific world.
"The Demonic World..." Greed comments upon seeing all those bright lights in the reddish atmosphere created by the Water Spirit.
The Water Spirit notices the Sin’s surprise and smiles confidently. "What did you say?"
"Oh?" Greed realizes he has spoken his thoughts aloud. "Nothing, it’s just that this place reminds me a lot of my home."
Claire is surprised to see Greed truly emotional, and even the other girls notice it.
The Water Spirit tries not to care too much about the Sins, but she clearly harbors something against them.
"Lucien is a demon, right?" She asks sarcastically. "So I think this atmosphere is appropriate."
Greed nods, but then her eyes start to glow gold. "He’s a dragon too, you know... so how about adding a bit more gold?"
"Still, his favorite color has always been red," the Water Spirit responds quickly, but immediately regrets it, especially due to the girls’ inquisitive expressions.
She seems to think of something and quickly continues. "I mean, why else would he keep that long red hair? That’s just obvious."
Most of the girls find that deduction plausible, especially because red is always present in the clothes Lucien makes with his own demonic energy.
But he also likes wearing black, gold, and especially purple a lot, which makes Daisy more certain about some theories.
She is the one currently closely observing the Water Spirit and is becoming increasingly certain that this mysterious being has been watching Lucien for a long time, probably longer than they can imagine.
That’s the only reason Daisy believes the Water Spirit not only trusts Lucien so much but also seems to know him so well.
But just as the Sins and some of Lucien’s wives are keeping an eye on the Water Spirit, she is also aware of everything happening around her.
Daisy’s sharp gaze doesn’t escape the Water Spirit’s perception, who quickly tries to change the subject.
"The time for the banquet is nearly here; all preparations are almost complete, so we should head back to the castle," the Water Spirit says in a tone that is calm and gentle, yet also firm and authoritative.
The other group members seem excited to reunite with Lucien, even though they saw him just a few hours ago.
Among the girls are Saria alongside Claire, Rose with her mother, Anne, Elsie, and Mia; Greed dematerialized her body after displaying emotions she considers shameful.
But despite everyone wanting to return to the castle quickly, Claire thinks of something that makes her embarrassed. "Damn, I forgot to buy a present for Luci!"
"I was thinking about that..." Saria comments in a disappointed tone. "But I don’t know what to give him."
The Water Spirit lets go of her serene posture and opens a wide, proud smile. "You could think for ten thousand years and still not come up with a better gift than mine."
The younger girls can’t help but feel upset while Daisy closely observes every word and expression of the Water Spirit.
"Assuming he accepts your gift..." Rose can’t resist teasing the Water Spirit.
"Oh?" She doesn’t seem to doubt that. "How could he refuse it?"
All the girls there also think the same; they are sure that the time Lucien asked to think about the Water Spirit’s proposal is just to show consideration for the opinions of his wives, sisters, and especially the Sins.
So in the end, the Water Spirit’s gift is something that would be hard to surpass.
Yet, the girls are proud and don’t want their presents to seem inferior, especially near a potential new rival within the harem.
"A world is indeed an incredible gift, but hubby sees it as a present for our whole family..." Elsie comments.
"And it wouldn’t have the same personal touch as something more intimate..." Anne continues.
"On the other hand, we prepared something very special..." Mia exchanges naughty looks with the fox cousins. "Something especially for him."
The Water Spirit was quite confident, but seeing how special the trio’s relationship with Lucien is, she fails to hide a deep envy of the girls.
"Your naughty expressions make it clear that this is something sexual, right?" She can’t resist asking, even though she already knows the answer.
The naughty trio smiles confidently as they reveal three sets of lingerie from their storage rings; they are fluffy outfits that highlight the demi-human features of the fox cousins and give Mia a pair of fox ears and a fluffy tail.
These are not just simple costumes; they shine due to the rare and special materials used to create them.
Surprising the Water Spirit even more, the trio smells the costumes before smiling at Daisy.
"Daisy helped us give these outfits special scents and flavors..." Anne explains.
"Which will surely drive hubby crazy," Elsie adds.
While Claire and Saria blush deeply, the Water Spirit rolls her eyes. "What kind of gift is that? You’re the ones who are going to wear the damn clothes!"
The naughty trio smiles, and Mia explains. "Everyone knows that the two things hubby likes most are making us happy and... sex, of course."
"So these costumes are really the perfect gift..." Rose comments with jealousy while giving her mother a disapproving look. "Did you really have to help them?"
"Ara ara~~" Daisy giggles cutely. "My dear, do you think what we planned is inferior?"
Now it’s Rose’s turn to give the other girls a naughty and confident look. "Nah, hubby really loves that fetish..."
Anne and Elsie are confused, but Mia understands the looks from the vampire duo well, after all, she and her mother can give Lucien the same kind of gift.
Claire and Saria also don’t understand that, despite the mermaid princess clearly feeling the girls’ excitement with her magic senses.
The Water Spirit, on the other hand, understands Lucien’s fetish, which generates in her heart both great sadness and great hatred.
All the girls around notice her bright look fade and her expression change drastically, but only Saria can feel how her emotions darken for a moment.
The Water Spirit understands her own feelings better than anyone and quickly tries to suppress them with good feelings.
"Okay, you’ve convinced me, I’ll give Lucien another gift, something that will also surpass your naughty plans!" She exclaims confidently.
The girls are happy to see the Water Spirit return to her radiant, sun-like demeanor, but Claire casts a disapproving look at her sisters-in-law.
"I didn’t even think of a gift for Luci, and you’ve raised the competition... tsk!" She clicks her tongue.
"WHY?!?!" Saria exclaims with fake anger, causing all the other girls to laugh.
