Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4626: Starting A Store

Chapter 4626: Starting A Store

"...?"

The supreme geniuses were perplexed as they saw the Divine Emperor of Death’s actions.

"...!?"

They became confused.

"...!!!!!!?"

They turned stupefied.

The expressions of the people in the stalls and on the pathway were a sight to see as their eyes widened and faces turned livid with disbelief.

The Divine Emperor of Death, the calamity of the era, was starting a store?

What kind of bullshit was this?

Just a few days ago, they were aware of the hunt that took place. Some of them were also a part of it, and they brought back captured geniuses with known, hidden, or even buried crimes. They had a fun time enacting justice, but they could never imagine the Divine Emperor this way.

It was truly an eye-opener.

The marketplace was silent for ten whole seconds before Liam Moonsmile coughed, "Everyone is here to trade and gain benefits. The people here are all adhering to the rules we have placed, so there is no need to worry that something untoward would happen. Please continue the exchange. This time- there’s a special item in the auction tonight, so look forward to it."

He raised his hands and calmly placated them.

Still, everyone was looking at the Divine Emperor of Death in a strange light.

The crowd murmured, some shifting uneasily, others leaning forward in anticipation, wondering who would be the first to head to trade with the Divine Emperor of Death. They felt it should be entertaining at the very least.

Shirley glanced at Davis, her expression a mix of understanding and amusement.

They had many resources from nearly all the Primary Laws and Greater Laws. They had everything to ensure that their family members reached the Exalt Stage and grew even further in that, but it was not quite right since if they consumed these resources just like that without eliminating their side effects, plenty of problems would emerge within their cultivation.

Hence, they needed to make these resources into pills for better and safer consumption while obtaining more benefits.

And it just so happened that the number of Exalt Grade Pill Recipes they possessed couldn’t even be counted with a single hand.

To this, Davis was also at a loss since he couldn’t easily soulscour or recall information at Primarch Grade due to karmic burden. Even the compendium they wrote on Exalt Grade Flora was filled with karmic burden. If his little children, who hadn’t grown into adults and reached the Empyrean Stage, were to learn them, then their tribulations would be extremely powerful.

Therefore, even Immortal Emperors were greatly affected by the karmic burden stemming from information above the Empyrean Grade. Hence, Immortal Emperors would also forget it from time to time unless they were Divergents or those who pried into the mysteries of heaven and earth and regularly stained themselves with karmic burden.

Hence, Davis barely obtained any pill recipes at the Exalt Grade even though he had soulscoured so many supreme geniuses.

There were many factors involved as to why.

One, even if they were supreme geniuses, powers wouldn’t necessarily give them pill recipes unless they were top-tier alchemists.

Even Lyra Mistwalker only knew two Pill Recipes at the Primarch Grade. Her power acknowledged her and gave her advanced classes and recipes because she had comprehended Immaculate Alchemy Laws, the Phyletic Law of Alchemy.

However, it wasn’t like powers let go of the other genius alchemists.

Their powers would give them half the recipe to learn, and while soulscouring them, Davis could only obtain half of that or even less information. Some even made no sense, so if he used that information to make pills, it wouldn’t be surprising if he were to poison his own family to death instead.

Hence, Davis wanted to obtain complete and authentic Pill Recipes. He also knew that expecting someone here to have Pill Recipes at the Exalt Grade or Primarch Grade, as Transcendents and today’s human race would call it, wasn’t optimistic.

Nonetheless, Davis decided to wait patiently and waved his hand at Shirley and the others.

"Go shop. Look for anything you want. I’ll leave a soul body here and accompany you all shortly."

He sent them a soul transmission, causing them to smile before they nodded and left.

Davis watched them leave before he panned his gaze at the stores opposite him and his neighbors.

They shrank back like snails and ’busied’ themselves over their stalls as though they were looking for something, while some others talked to the customers while spouting bullshit, leaving the customers speechless, but they reciprocated and also engaged in bullshitting with lovely smiles as they forgot what they wanted to buy for a few seconds.

"..."

Davis acted as though he didn’t see that and continued remaining in the shop, standing while folding his hands. Even without emitting any aura, his gaze was so menacing that some stalls decided to close shop and leave.

Staying here wasn’t worth it! They might lose their lives suddenly!

Nonetheless, as time passed, many cultivators or merchants arrived and took the empty spots. Even after they heard it was the Divine Emperor of Death on that stall, they suppressed their fear and made sales.

Profit was king!

An hour later, Davis still had zero customers!

At this point, he was still digesting the memories he had consumed and looking over key points like Pill Recipes, Cultivation Methods, hidden treasures, and important words that helped him scoop information related to keywords easily. Then, he didn’t need to go through their life story or relationships to see intimate memories. He ignored them all.

Hence, he may seem free, but he was the busiest person in the chamber.

However, there were plenty of people looking over while staying in this chamber or walking over to other chambers.

The Primarch Grade resources he placed on the stall grew with time. Three turned six. Six turned nine. Nine turned twelve.

Eventually, someone was going to take the bait!

Someone bit the hook and came forward exactly an hour and twenty-two minutes after he opened the shop.

Davis’s gaze fell on the person.

It was a blue-robed person with short white hair. A fair-skinned man who appeared to be as young as him, possessing a calm countenance. His jade eyes were dazzling, and he wore a monocle over his left eye, appearing quite studious. But despite his young appearance, he gave a mature feeling, as though he had lived for a long time.

Davis’s sapphire eyes gleamed, "A Divergent?"

He sent a soul transmission, causing the other party to raise their brows before he nodded.

"As expected of an Anarchic Divergent. Your reputation precedes you and supersedes mine, although I can’t brag since I’ve concealed myself well in another galaxy."

He smiled, nodding as he looked over the resources placed on the stall.

Eventually, he raised his head and asked with his mouth open, "I heard that you have High-Level Exalt Grade resources. Can I have a list of what they are? Just their attributes will do."

"Sure."

Davis nodded as he raised his hand, summoning a scroll while his soul force seeped out into a quill and began scribbling over the scroll. After it was done quickly, he handed it over to the white-haired man.

The white-haired man took it to read and nodded after a short while, "I have a complete Divine Exalt Grade Manual of the fire attribute in exchange for a High-Level Exalt Grade resource of the light attribute. Do you have one that’s closer to light and illusion properties?"

Davis thought for a moment before opening his mouth, "Of course."

He took out a jade container inlaid with golden patterns from his spatial ring and handed it over.

The white-haired man didn’t open the jade container. The container was Immortal Emperor Grade, so it didn’t manage to seal well. Instead, he sent his soul force inside, and his eyes couldn’t help but tremble.

The resource managed to exactly fit his description, causing him to suppress his emotions before he nodded greatly and handed over a container that contained the Divine Exalt Grade Manual.

Davis flipped the container over and saw the manual’s title.

[Three Heavens Flamepetal Revolutions]

His eyes gleamed with interest as he didn’t think it was fake. He quickly took it out and let down the scroll. His soul force automatically screened everything, preventing others from looking at it.

Even the white-haired man froze, his calm expression faltering for a moment, but it was as he expected, so he quickly regained himself.

Davis had seen, read, and knew a few Divine Exalt Grade Manuals by heart, like the Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual, so he could tell that the Three Heavens Flamepetal Revolutions wasn’t fake.

"Its origins?" Davis asked.

"I don’t know. I unearthed it from a catacomb. It’s old, probably as old as ten or eleven billion years."

"..." Davis blinked before he nodded.

He understood the other party was careful not to expose where he was from.

"Alright, I agree to the transaction."

The white-haired man smiled and bowed with a soft smile, "I’m glad we could come to an agreement."

He then turned around to leave- to the exit.

Some people began following him out of curiosity or even malice.

However, as soon as he was outside, he disappeared.

"What!?"

There was a commotion outside, but Davis paid no heed as he intently looked at the manual.
