"I need to talk to you."
Without waiting for Su Xuan's approval, Susanna sidestepped, brushed past him, and entered the room on her own.
CLICK-CLACK-CLICK.
Her high heels echoed as she strolled around the room. Stopping by the window, she wiped a finger across the rusty frame. "That old man Richard really went too far, letting a hundred-billionaire live in such a dump!"
"You dare talk about your employer like that?" Su Xuan asked, still leaning against the doorframe.
"I'm no longer in his employ." Susanna adjusted her shoulder strap. "I made a small mistake at work, and he fired me."
She was wearing a tight, spaghetti-strap minidress, which revealed an intimidatingly deep cleavage.
"Oh, really?" Su Xuan laughed. "If you're no longer working for Richard, how did you know I was here?"
"Jeff told me. We're good friends," Susanna said earnestly. "I really came here to tell you something important."
"What is it?" Su Xuan asked.
Susanna pursed her lips. "You really shouldn't have come for Alice. Back in China, she was just playing with you to pass the time and cure her loneliness. As soon as she returned, she got together with a young, wealthy heir. He's from the Buffett family—their wealth and power are astounding. You can't compare."
"Do you really know my current net worth?" Su Xuan asked. His was now well over a hundred billion US dollars.
"You alone can't compete with an entire family," Susanna said. "It's the same here as it is in China—it's all about connections. Besides, they have noble blood!"
"Go on," Su Xuan said, his expression flat.
"So, the trouble you've faced since arriving isn't just Richard's doing. Alice is in on it too. They want you to back off," Susanna said, her gaze fixed on Su Xuan's face. "They don't want her aristocratic scion to find out about you. That... you've already been intimate with Alice, right?"
"No comment," Su Xuan replied with a faint smile.
"You don't seem to mind what I'm telling you?" Susanna frowned. "I'm saying this out of good will, because I'm afraid you'll get played by Richard and his family too!"
Su Xuan raised a hand to cut her off. "Susanna, stop acting. It's boring."
First Jeff tried to fight him, and now Susanna was trying to mess with his mind. He could see through such ploys in an instant.
"I'm not acting!" Susanna stammered, her mouth agape. "Everything I said is true, I swear to God!"
"Please leave." Su Xuan stood at the door, gesturing for her to exit. "Go back and tell Richard to stop playing these petty games. If he doesn't let me see Alice, I'll pay a visit to his bedside tonight."
"So there's no room for discussion?" Susanna's expression turned cold.
"Haven't we already had our discussion?" Su Xuan retorted.
"Fine!"
Then Susanna did something that made Su Xuan's eyes widen. Walking toward him, she began to undo her spaghetti-strap minidress. Then, spreading her arms wide, she threw herself at him while screaming, "Assault! Help! Help!"
SMACK!
Su Xuan swung his hand without the slightest hint of chivalry, slapping the airborne Susanna to the ground. He laughed. "You know, Susanna, if it were any other girl, I might not have been able to remain so composed. But you? Just look at all those muscles, even more impressive than my buddy Chen Yuesheng's. If anything happened between us, I'd have nightmares for days. I really can't bring myself to do it!"
Su Xuan wasn't exaggerating. Susanna clearly worked out daily. Her biceps were genuinely eye-catching, and she was built like a young heifer. That kind of physique, however, was quite popular in the West.
"You'll regret this!" Susanna lifted her red, swollen face and glared at Su Xuan. Instead of getting up, she crawled across the floor to the doorway. Grasping the frame with both hands, she began wailing to the hallway outside.
Su Xuan's expression didn't change. He simply sat back down on the bed and resumed reading. The book was a firearms guide he'd borrowed from Zhong Huilan, and he only had a few pages left.
Soon, a commotion erupted in the hallway. Someone helped the pitiable Susanna to her feet.
A little while later, two pot-bellied police officers arrived and, without asking a single question, took Su Xuan away. As they led him away, they put a hood over his head.
About half an hour later, a voice spoke into Su Xuan's ear before his hood was pulled off. "Mr. Su, we've arrived."
"Heh, this is getting more interesting." Su Xuan narrowed his eyes, taking in his surroundings. He wasn't in a police station at all, but a solid concrete building containing a large iron cage. Inside the cage were four or five men, all of them powerfully built and black.
"Welcome, Mr. Su!" one of the officers who'd brought him here said.
"Impressive. You knew my name was Su without even asking," Su Xuan quipped.
"See that cage?" the other officer asked, pointing at it. "They're all cold-blooded killers, capable of anything. If you don't want to join them in there, sign this document."
With that, he handed a sheet of paper to Su Xuan.
Su Xuan glanced at the document. Richard, so you'd stoop to such despicable tactics? I really underestimated you!
The document was a confession written from his point of view, detailing how he'd gotten bored in the hotel, developed malicious intent toward Susanna, and then assaulted her. Once he signed it, everything written on the paper would become fact.
"Are you really police officers?" Su Xuan suddenly asked them.
"We are." One of them flashed his badge at Su Xuan.
"You're truly corrupt," Su Xuan said. "I'm not signing this."
"Mr. Su, we're confident you'll sign it." The officer smirked, opened the iron cage, and shoved Su Xuan inside. He then pointed his gun at the men in the cage. "This Mr. Su has come a long way. Make sure you take *real good* care of him!"
"Okay!"
"No problem, sir!"
The men in the cage readily agreed.
The first officer spoke. "Mr. Su, we have other official business to attend to, so we can't stay."
The second added, "As for what happens here, we won't know a thing about it, and we certainly won't be held responsible."
With smug smiles, they left Su Xuan with those words and exited the warehouse.
The moment they left, the caged men's faces twisted into vile expressions as they began to advance on Su Xuan...
