Traveler of the River of Time and Space

Chapter 66: Wild Hunt! (Double-Length Chapter)

The night deepened.

After seeing off the three leaders of the Female Sorcerer Mutual Aid Association, Su Ziyu lay alone on the bed to rest.

Now that most of his time in this world has elapsed, he confirmed his initial suspicion: if he can't control the Hourglass of Time, his stays in other worlds will continue to lengthen, and he might even grow old and die in one.

As his need for sleep decreased, Su Ziyu idly browsed through his stored database; at that moment, his data display showed significant changes.

"Name: Su Ziyu."

"Race: Human [Divine Being]."

"Biological Level: Tier Two."

"Authority Level: Space-Time Wanderer."

"Ability: White Crow Swordsmanship LV3, Firearms Mastery LV1, Spiritual Energy LV4, Driving Mastery LV0, Time Acceleration LV5 (Spiritual Energy)."

"Attributes: Physical Enhancement LV6, Agility Enhancement LV2, Power Enhancement LV1, Perception Enhancement LV3, Charm Enhancement LV1, Dragon Blood Baptism LV1, Master of Language, Master of Language, Person Beyond Destiny, Blessing of the Guardian Witch, Spiritual Lightning, Static Field, Thunder Strike, Spiritual Vision, Blind Combat, Space Awakening."

"Source Power Value: 12."

"Divinity Value: 0."

Su Ziyu has 12 Source Power Value remaining. It's not that he doesn't want to enhance other abilities, but some abilities require significant expenditure, and he must consider any potential impending battle.

"Lightning Storm: Use spiritual energy to summon a terrifying lightning storm, causing indiscriminate thunderous strikes in the target area. Consumes 8 Source Power Value points."

This is the ability Su Ziyu has been weighing whether to enhance.

Lightning Storm, a skill with the highest current expansion and immense power, comes at considerable Source Power Value cost.

Activating this skill would leave insufficient resources for further enhancements in other systems.

If the Ghost Hunters appear, this ability becomes essential; however, if they don't, Su Ziyu might not use it, as Thunder Strike has more potent single-target damage.

Tiny arcs of electricity danced in his palm.

Considering his options, Su Ziyu spent 4 Source Power Value points to enhance both Firearms Mastery and Power Enhancement to LV2, reserving the remaining 8 Source Power Value points.

Night quickly passed.

The Ghost Hunters still hadn't appeared. If they remained absent, the Unicorn's injuries should be able to recover.

During the day,

The Demon Hunters and Female Sorcerers roamed the vicinity, discussing the likelihood of the Ghost Hunters appearing that night.

Suddenly,

Footsteps resounded in the distance, and then Su Ziyu saw two Druids carrying Vera's unconscious form into view.

"She was attacked! Gravely injured!" a senior Druid said gravely.

Vera had an abdominal wound, and she'd lost so much blood that she had fallen into a coma. Beside her was a black leopard, its claws also bearing sword wounds.

"Laura saved her," the Druid next to him whispered.

Laura seemed to be the black leopard, as some Druids bonded with forest beasts as their companions.

The Tree Spirit Ranger was swiftly taken into the Tree Tower.

A few Druids worked on healing her, and about half an hour later, the Tree Spirit Queen - Avena emerged, her expression somber, saying, "She's awake."

"You may go in now,"

When Su Ziyu entered, Vera still appeared weak, speaking feebly, "Be careful! Elf!..."

"I encountered an Elf!... He attacked me!..."

An unfamiliar Elf had appeared near the Ring of Nature.

Vera was suddenly assaulted upon discovering him; fortunately, her ability to hide in the forest saved her from being killed, but Laura, the black leopard, rescued her from death.

The animal companions trained by the Druids are mighty, challenging ordinary warriors.

"Elves? Could they be ancient Elves?" Su Ziyu wondered quietly.

This attack heightened everyone's tension, yet no one else detected anything unusual. By the time the Druids arrived, the Elf had vanished.

"Be cautious tonight," Su Ziyu gravely advised.

Vera's prowess wasn't weak, yet she was gravely injured in a single exchange with the adversary— a testament to their formidable strength.

Darkness gradually settled.

Until deep into the night, the Ring of Nature remained uneventful.

Su Ziyu leaned against the bedhead, feigning sleep, until sometime around one or two in the morning when he suddenly heard a stir from outside.

Splat.

Su Ziyu immediately grabbed his weapon and leaped out the window, with Van Helsing following suit.

"Have they arrived?" Van Helsing asked grimly.

In the night sky,

at some point, a ribbon-like slender light screen appeared, and then, in Su Ziyu's line of sight, the sky seemed to split open into a dark chasm, echoing with distant, indistinct crying wails. Then one by one, spectral knights on warhorses materialized before everyone's eyes.

Initially, they appeared indistinct, semi-existent, but gradually became more and more real as the sky slowly revealed the knights' forms.

Adorned with horned helmets, riding spectral horses flickering with phosphe, these knights had faces shrouded by burning ghostly flames beneath their visors. Worn dark-red cloaks billowed in the wind; their shimmering swords slashing across the night sky. The howling grew louder as if countless spirits wept, these nightmare-like knights charged across the night sky, with no end in sight to the massing throng.
