Traveler of the River of Time and Space

Chapter 65: Lord of Qiuye Town

Behind Van Helsing are some unfamiliar faces, presumably demon hunters who arrived later.

Currently, there are fifteen demon hunters in the City of Freedom, plus Su Ziyu, making a total of sixteen. Although the number is still small, it is enough to revive the legacy of the demon hunters.

The numbers may be few, but they are all elite.

And at a glance, Su Ziyu could tell that the demon hunters who came this time had all undergone a vampire mutation.

"Are these your companions?" The figure of the Tree Spirit Queen - Avena appeared in front.

Some demon hunters and female warlocks were seeing a tree spirit for the first time, and their expressions showed great curiosity, as this is a race consisting only of females.

Lady Inid and Lady Judith stood on either side of Su Ziyu, as if acting as bodyguards, creating a bit of distance from Queen Avena. The former smiled and said, "Hello. We are his companions."

Van Helsing at the back looked as if he was enjoying the show, with a bit of a mischievous smile.

"Yes." Su Ziyu's expression remained calm and unperturbed, as he said coolly, "These are all my companions. You may get to know each other."

"Let's go."

"Let's have a game of Gwent Card. I've recently won a set of dwarf collector's edition cards; I'll take you to see it."

Having said that, Su Ziyu directly pulled Van Helsing away, leaving the three beautiful women standing there, looking at each other in confusion.

The demon hunters soon followed along.

Apparently, compared to watching women indulge in intrigue, they clearly preferred playing cards.

The female warlocks stayed behind.

It turned out Daisy knew the druids from the Ring of Nature, as she previously trained with the druids, but later discovered her talents were more aligned with being a warlock.

The old dwarf at the inn appeared very happy.

Usually, those druids are quite bored, and he didn't expect so many demon hunters this time, so now he wasn't worried about not having anyone to play cards with.

"How are the preparations at the Academy?" Su Ziyu asked solemnly in the room.

Restoring the legacy of the demon hunters is a big task.

If it weren't for the ghost hunters being so elusive and hard to encounter next time, he wouldn't be in such a hurry to leave.

"The location has already been chosen." Van Helsing's expression relaxed a lot, as he said in a low voice, "Not far from where the female warlocks are, in a secluded valley."

"But rebuilding an Academy is no easy task."

Upon hearing this, Su Ziyu nodded and said, "Is there enough money?"

"We still have some savings from the old schools." Van Helsing glanced at Lev beside him, his expression a bit sorrowful as he said, "The old viper left us a large sum of money. It should be barely enough."

"If push comes to shove, we can borrow a bit from those female warlocks."

That's not a good idea.

Su Ziyu was very clear about one thing, owing too many favors to the female warlocks comes with great risk, and it's definitely not as simple as repaying them with a favor.

"I still have a stash of gold." Su Ziyu thought for a moment and said, "I'll give it to you when I get back."

He had brought a lot of gold from the Wasteland World.

But surprisingly, he hadn't used much of it along the way, and he even earned some money in this world.

"Alright." Van Helsing didn't stand on ceremony with him, nodding, "Using our own money to rebuild the Academy is the best scenario."

These old demon hunters hoped to gain an equal standing with the female warlocks.

In the past, the demon hunter schools always had a status lower than that of the Warlock Academy, but now with the enhancements from the vampire mutations, they hoped the Demon Hunter Academy could be independent.

"Lady Inid has arranged a lordship for you." As if remembering something, Van Helsing chuckled and patted Su Ziyu on the shoulder, "Congratulations! You're now the lord of both Dragon Valley and Qiuye Town."

Lord?

Hearing this, Su Ziyu's expression couldn't help but pause for a moment.

"What?" Su Ziyu asked, puzzled, "Why have I suddenly become a lord?"

Van Helsing's expression was very serious as he said in a solemn voice, "We can't completely rely on others. In exchange, we should also have land on our hands."

But why me?

Su Ziyu's face couldn't help but reveal a wry smile, "Alright then."

In the end, he still had to leave.

Van Helsing would have been the best candidate to serve as the lord, but this old fellow seemed to want to push him into the position.

"Is Dragon Valley the location for the new Academy?" Su Ziyu asked.

"Yes." Van Helsing nodded, "There was originally a small green dragon there, but we've already taken care of it."

It's been a long time since the demon hunters have slain a dragon.

Just knew those vampires weren't that generous, Su Ziyu asked, "No casualties, right?"

"No." Van Helsing shook his head, "A green dragon is hardly a challenge for us."

Indeed.

In this world, most giant dragons are subspecies. Judging a giant dragon's strength is simple: first see if it's four-legged or two-legged. Two-legged ones are easy to deal with, but four-legged ones require you to weigh your strength.

"There is also an abandoned iron mine at Qiuye Town."

Van Helsing pointed to Lev beside him, "He went down to take a look. It's got some dirty stuff, but the veins aren't fully mined, making it a significant income."

"There are some evil spirits down there," Lev said seriously, "I didn't go very deep, but I encountered some undead."

"There are collapses inside."

"It would probably take a considerable investment to restore it."

Money is not an issue.

Su Ziyu had gems on hand, and if need be, he could sacrifice a bit himself, and borrow from those wealthy trio sisters.

If demon hunters had income from a territory and an iron mine as an economic resource, then at least for the next few decades they wouldn't have to worry. Most demon hunters could secure a minimum guarantee and wouldn't have to live as poorly and difficultly as before.

Lev had worked as a blacksmith for five or six years, so he was quite professional in this area.

Everything was getting on track.

Van Helsing seemed in high spirits, pulling others along, "Let's go. Let's have a drink. I know the druids have a kind of fruit wine that tastes great."

On the way down, they met the female warlocks walking up.

Lady Inid was indeed a shrewd and sociable person; in just a short while, she had already bonded with the druids and tree spirits, appearing to get along quite well.

As night fell.

Lady Inid, Lady Judith, and Lady Elena all came to Su Ziyu's room. The simultaneous visit by the three heads of the Female Sorcerer Mutual Aid Association left Su Ziyu feeling quite pressured.

As expected, that old fellow Van Helsing was still setting him up.

They actually wanted Su Ziyu to take the position of dean of the Demon Hunter Academy, a position most suited for that old Van Helsing guy.

So, Su Ziyu righteously refused.

However, he couldn't resist these female warlocks' soft tactics, and eventually had to agree to reconsider after some time. After all, once it was time, Su Ziyu planned to leave this world, and by then, even if Van Helsing didn't want to be the dean, he would have no choice.
