About an hour later, Dylan returned to his cabin. He saw the light inside was on. As he stood on the front porch, just about to open the door, he heard a noisy crowd inside. "Blak," he swung the door open forcefully, worried something had happened, but when he stepped in, his eyes immediately widened when he saw the 7 teenagers from the camp, plus a woman dressed like a nurse, talking with Finn and Hana.
They were gathered in a corner of the room and didn't dare move, watched over by Megan, and standing behind her were Ellie, Maya, Lena, Amy, Aaron, and Clara, all with their arms crossed over their chests. The woman in the nurse's clothes—the government agent, whose clothes were filthy and her face smeared—immediately stood up, looking at Dylan and protecting the teenagers behind her, including Finn and Hana.
"I'm... I'm sorry, we were forced to run here. I couldn't possibly take them all to the ranger station down the mountain in this condition. The killer with the chainsaw who couldn't be shot is still out there. Please, allow us to stay here temporarily, at least until tomorrow morning," the woman muttered, her voice trembling.
"Ah... that's right," Dylan replied.
Immediately, Ellie, Maya, Lena, Amy, Aaron, and Clara turned to give Dylan a sharp, piercing glance, like knives ready to stab their victim. Their faces seemed to be asking Dylan, "What exactly did you just do?" Dylan immediately explained everything in his head. Of course, Ellie, Maya, Lena, Amy, Aaron, and Clara immediately shook their heads once they finished hearing Dylan's explanation.
"Why didn't you just use a normal method?" Ellie asked.
"Now our cabin is crowded, isn't it?" Maya added.
"Ugh... what's going to happen now? We can't even enjoy our vacation in peace," Lena added.
"Don't tell me we'll have to go home tomorrow because of a killer with a chainsaw," Amy added.
"It was cool, Big Brother, I wanted to join in, but why is everyone so scared? Did you go too far?" Aaron added.
"Luckily I was sleeping. I don't like anything horror-related, seriously," Clara added.
"Haaah... okay, okay. What else can we do now? Just let them stay here until morning. We'll call the police tomorrow," Dylan replied.
"Fine, but next time, if you have a plan, please talk to us and discuss it first, understood?" Ellie asked.
"Okay, I get it," Dylan replied.
Dylan turned to look at the woman who was standing in front of the teenagers hiding behind her, except for Finn and Hana. "Ehem," Dylan pretended to cough briefly.
"I'm sorry, but who are you?" Dylan asked.
"My name is Janet Gracia. I'm a nurse who was temporarily assigned to the youth camp across the lake. Please allow us to stay here tonight. As I said, I couldn't possibly take them all to the ranger station down the mountain while that chainsaw killer is still roaming the woods," Janet replied.
"Okay, no problem, but just for tonight, alright?" Dylan said.
"Alright, thank you so much," Janet replied, clearly relieved.
Janet then glanced at Megan, who was standing straight like a statue behind the sofa. Of course, she didn't see Megan as human but as a living, human-sized doll. Janet opened her mouth as if to ask something, but no sound came out, and she closed it again. She and the teenagers behind her finally sat in the corner of the room, while Finn and Hana sat frozen on the sofa.
"Everyone, come take a shower or at least wash up. We'll prepare some warm food for you," invited Ellie, who walked closer to Janet and the other teenagers.
"Th... thank you," Janet replied, standing up.
Janet and the three girl teenagers, plus Hana, went inside with Ellie and Maya. Lena and Amy walked to the kitchen to prepare food, while Aaron and Clara began talking to the male teenagers and Finn, who were still in the corner of the room, since they were the same age.
All the teenagers immediately recounted what had just happened: how they saw a massive killer, dressed like a butcher complete with rubber gloves and wearing a mask made of human skin, to Aaron and Clara.
It was clear that the male teenagers were extremely frightened, their faces are full of terror and spoke with trembling voices. Even when Aaron accidentally bumped the sofa chair, causing a sound, everyone instantly flinched back, pressing against the wall and huddling together.
Except for Finn, who seemed confused because he hadn't seen that particular killer. Aaron and Clara once again shot a sharp glance at Dylan, who turned to look away while whistling.
"Wow, Big Brother, what kind of terror did they actually see?" Aaron asked in his head.
"They jump just from hearing the sofa move a little, this is serious, Big Brother," Clara added in her head.
"My bad, I got carried away," Dylan replied in his head.
"Yeah, this is really bad. The girls here and Ms. Janet don't dare shower alone. Now they're going into the bathroom together. You went way too far this time," Ellie added.
"These teenage girls were saying they saw a sadistic killer right in front of them, wearing clothes like a butcher complete with his rubber gloves and a human-skin mask, and they were ready to die because they thought they definitely would. What exactly did you do to make it this severe?" Maya asked.
"If the people you save are this badly traumatized... then the rescuer is far more terrifying than the criminals... honestly, Big Brother, how could you?" Aaron scolded.
"You went too far, Big Brother," Clara added.
"Haaah... want me to show you? But never mind, Ellie, Maya, Lena, and Amy shouldn't be shocked. Sorry, the atmosphere in the mountains, the solitude, plus the camp setting being so perfect for a horror movie, so... I went overboard, hahaha," Dylan muttered in his head.
"That's not funny, you know," Ellie, Maya, Aaron, and Clara replied.
"I'm sorry," Dylan replied.
"Janet also seems cautious of us. She doesn't seem like an ordinary nurse," Ellie replied.
"Yeah, she's a secret agent. I was just about to investigate that now. You keep an eye on her, Ellie," Dylan said.
"Okay, I'll watch her," Ellie replied.
Dylan walked out of the cabin. He walked to the side and sat down at the long dining table outside next to the cabin. Then he immediately opened his hacking skill and tried to find a profile for Janet using a photo of her face he had secretly taken and her name.
In just 10 minutes, Janet's profile appeared. It turned out she was a federal agent assigned to infiltrate a human trafficking group that operated behind the scenes. From his investigation, this group was connected to Amy's family, the Mafia family.
"Hoo... so this group is the work of that person. This is interesting... truly interesting," Dylan muttered in his head.
[It seems so, sir. We accidentally foiled their operation.]
"Good. The more we foil them, the closer we get to CROWS. I promise I will eliminate them, to avenge the deaths of my father, mother, and grandfather," Dylan muttered in his head.
[That's absolutely right, sir.]
Dylan read her profile again. Her real name was Felicia Westwood, age 33, married, with one child. Dylan glanced back at the cabin, then re-read the profile of Janet, whose real name was Felicia.
"She seems trustworthy. Well, just let her stay inside," Dylan said.
[Quickly use the body double, sir.]
"Huh," "body double," Suddenly Dylan split into two, and the copy immediately used the Masquerade skill to change into the sadistic killer with the chainsaw. "Vroooooong," the body double controlled by KATS immediately started its chainsaw and raised it in front of Dylan.
"Hey, hey, KATS, what are you doing?" Dylan asked, backing away.
But KATS didn't seem to hear him, making Dylan half-terrified and backing further away. Suddenly "blam... blam... blam," Dylan turned to see Janet, or rather Felicia, shooting her pistol at the body double. The killer immediately turned to look at Janet and ran toward her.
"Waaaaaaah,"
Janet or Felicia yelled and in panicked, she immediately shot multiple times until all her bullets were gone. The killer stopped moving, his chainsaw fell to the ground, and he immediately collapsed, sprawled on the ground. Dylan ran closer to Felicia, and Felicia immediately pulled Dylan inside.
After closing the door, Janet, or Felicia, immediately leaned against it, holding her pistol, trying to listen for movement outside the house. Then she immediately turned to look at Dylan.
"Are you alright? That killer followed us all the way here. Please don't leave the cabin. We'll hold up here until morning," Janet said.
"Alright," Dylan replied casually.
Dylan immediately saw Janet, or Felicia, become tense and look exactly like an experienced agent in a tight spot. He turned to look at Megan, who also turned to look at him and nodded, then he realized what KATS actually meant by becoming the killer again.
"Oh, so that's it. You want to make her think she successfully killed the horror movie villain," Dylan said in his head.
[That's right, sir, let's end our horror movie.]
At this moment, Dylan didn't realize that the following morning, when they all went outside and saw that the body of the sadistic killer—dressed like a butcher complete with his gloves, wearing the human-skin mask, and carrying the chainsaw—was no longer where he had collapsed and fallen, a movie titled Mountain Chainsaw Massacre would be made, and this event would become the longest investigative case in history to uncover the identity of that sadistic killer before the case was finally closed.
