SSS Ranked Awakening: Starting With My Limitless Cosmic Shadow System

Chapter 0095: Sneaking In... Plan

After leaving the place for a short while… surprisingly, something happened.

A few guards who were patrolling nearby were startled to find a figure buried in the snow.

The awakened beasts cautiously approached the location of the figure buried in the snow.

An awakened beast pointed its spear at the figure in the snow and poked it gently.

"He's not waking up…" the awakened beast muttered in a low voice, but it was loud enough for the others to hear.

Surprisingly, these awakened beasts who possessed intelligence could speak in the language that Modret was familiar with.

"Is he a half-human?" another awakened beast muttered, noticing the black scales on the back of the beast covered in snow.

Sensing no immediate danger, the remaining awakened beasts finally approached the location, and then the first awakened beast, using the tip of its spear, turned the figure over.

It revealed a monstrous human-like face, and in turning the half-beast around, they noticed the wings of the creature pressed into the snow.

"It's a half-human and likely possesses the bloodline of large birds." The awakened beasts weren't too surprised by this.

"Probably trying to escape and got caught here," another awakened beast guessed.

"Take him back to the dungeon," the awakened beast with the spear snorted and turned to the others.

In that manner, the awakened beasts carried the half-human into the dungeon under their supervision.

A few minutes passed before the half-human was finally tossed into the dungeon, where there were roughly four others.

After they were done, they left the place.

And the moment they did, the eyes of the half-human shot open, and a terrifying storm seemed to brew within them.

Although it might seem like a careless plan, Modret had thought it out perfectly.

He knew that this was the only method to obtain the most of that treasure. With that, during his stay here, breaking into the Universe Realm wouldn't be a problem at all.

'Hopefully, Axel doesn't get too overly worried about me and comes to disrupt my plan.' This was the only flaw with Modret's plan.

If he had known, he would have alerted Axel of his plan first before commencing it. However, he knew it would take another round of convincing before Axel agreed.

'It's still not as bad as it seems,' Modret thought internally, then shifted his gaze to the surroundings and scanned the dungeon he had been thrown into.

He didn't notice it before because he was too focused on his thoughts, but the place reeked of multiple stench mixed together.

Modret frowned at the smell but then shifted his gaze to study the cell mates he had.

Three of them were ladies. Half-human ladies, to be precise.

The first lady had nice purple hair with a purple tail emerging from her back and curling around her neck as she lay casually on the ground, gazing up at the ceiling of the cell.

The second lady had fox-like ears with dark brown hair cascading over her face as she lay face-flat on the ground, her breathing ragged.

It was obvious that a while ago she had finished with a battle and was trying to recover her mana.

Meanwhile, the third lady curled up at the corner of the cell, and Modret couldn't particularly see her facial features, but he could tell she was a beast-girl just like the other two ladies.

Aside from the three, there was a man in the cell, and he had rabbit legs with fur covering them. The top half of his body was human while the lower half was beast.

'A bunch of half-humans,' Modret mused internally, and his gaze shifted out of the cell.

Thanks to the lightning brought by the ice, he could see that there were many more cells. In fact, it was so numerous that Modret couldn't see the end of it.

Of course, it was likely because Modret's cell was situated at the edge of the whole dungeon.

Suddenly, his attention was attracted because of a commotion.

From the inner depths of the cell, two ape-like awakened beasts were dragging two other half-humans out of the cell.

'So this is how they select combatants?' Modret faintly guessed, then continued watching to see what would happen.

Although the two half-humans were slightly resistant, they didn't do anything extra for fear of being killed. After all, this wouldn't be the first time that an awakened beast would be killing a half-human.

Unsurprisingly, both half-humans were ultimately dragged out of the cell.

Then, loud shouts erupted into Modret's ears, and the shouts lasted for a while before one of the awakened beasts returned back to the cell with a yellow crystal in his hand.

'The treasure…' Modret eyed the man through the corner of his eyes.

Two new awakened beasts followed behind the man and went deeper into the cell before dragging another two out.

Modret turned curiously towards his 'cell mates' and asked in a low voice the moment he sensed that the awakened beasts were out of his line of sight.

"Have you ever had thoughts of… escaping?"

The moment his voice faded, the cell fell silent, and even the faint sound of breathing that could be heard before had drastically blended into the silence.

"Escape?" The half-human with purple hair giggled and spoke in a coquettish voice.

"How do you plan to escape? With your meager strength?" She could sense that Modret was merely at the Galaxy Realm and couldn't help wondering where he got such courage from.

The other lady whose hair cascaded over her head, with her lying face-flat, said in a calm, unfazed voice,

"I'd advise you to focus on growing stronger and give up thoughts of resistance. You're pretty new here, so having such thoughts is normal, but the sooner you give it up the better it is for you."

The other two remained silent; it was clear that the lady with a cascade of black hair had stated everything that was on their minds.

"I see…" Modret's eyes flickered with a calculating light.

They were right! In fact, it was true that Modret shouldn't harbor thoughts of escape.

But… he had thought everything through.

Now his plan would be set in motion. All he needed to do was corrupt the minds of the half-humans here.

Before then, he needed to know if there would be consequences for preaching rebellion.

And he also needed to know the location of the treasure…

Modret knew the perfect means to obtain such information.

'Fairy,' he called out warmly to the system he hadn't called in a long while.

A spark of blue light, only visible to Modret, appeared in his line of sight, revealing the figure of the fairy.

Although Modret was surprised that she hadn't increased in size in the slightest, he didn't think too deeply on it.

'Well then… Fairy. We have some treasures to steal.'
