Chapter 43: Regazan The Blood Faun 5

Ding!

~Rebirth is successful~

A shimmering vortex made up of black and purple clouds erupted beside me, and slowly a creature emerged from within.

A massive paw stretched out first and slammed into the ground, then came another paw, and then a huge snout leading the head.

It was a massive white bear, marked with distinct purple patterns all over its elbows, shoulder region, neck and a long widing one that stretched down its spine.

The bear made its way out of the vortex and it closed instantly.

Regazan stared at the my new arcane pet in shock, its mouth wide ajar and its eyes more roundish than a rectangular slit. Based on its reaction, I would say a certain level of fear had sparked within him as regards to me. The thought of not only being a subordinate to an arcane user like me, but also being a creature flooded with arcane is enough to scare any shadow creature.

The bear growled into the night sky, with its snout directed at the moon.

Ding!

~Give your pet a name~

~...~

I glanced at the Arcane creature, taking note of its physical features. To be honest, I had no idea what I would call it for the purpose of summoning, but I guess a befitting name would come up once I get to know what abilities this creature possess.

"You just keep cooking up one new trick after the other don't you… brat!" regazan said with its facial structures now showing a different expression— that of disgust.

"So this is your core talent? You have the ability of Rebirth, the ability to turn my kin into your loyal subjects, and you want to do the same to me?!"

"Oh, who knew I would run into the very natural rival of the Shadow Creatures rulers, myself included!"

The bastard was beside itself, thrashing and slashing its arms as it spoke.

I wasn't going to waste anymore time, I want that magic stone within regazan and I will make it my personal arcane pet. The bastard thinks its escaped its natural prison, not knowing that being a subject to me is an eternal prison that it would never have the option of escape.

"Attract…" I muttered.

And immediately, the spacial distortion I ahd set up as a barrier shifted to a single, small point in my finger tip and shot towards the bastard with lighting speed.

Regazan dodged but the attractive force of the technique was way to strong that it picked it up as the matter whizzed past him.

I directed the matter towards myself and that would mean that regazan was lunched towards me at full speed.

Bam!

Planting one foot into the ground, I balled my fist and planted a blow into its torso region, sending the bastard flying backwards at the opposite direction of the attractive force of the matter.

Boom!

The bastard slammed into the very fountain Chancellor Hans Wagner had hit earlier and was instantly drenched in water. The impact sent a wave of water high inot the air and it came falling down as though it was rain.

The bastard staggered to its feet, growling in frustration as water dripped from its soaked shadow form and its massive, thick horns. Steam hissed off its body as the anti-arcane energy within it clashed with the residual energy from my earlier attack.

Regazan's breathing turned ragged. Its red veins pulsed faintly and they glowed dimmer than before. Even without the system's help, I could tell that its anti-arcane reserves were nearly spent.

"Tch… damn you, human." it hissed, flexing its claws "I'll end this another time." the creature crouched low and muscles bulged from its hoofed legs and thighs as it prepared to leap skyward.

But just as it did the system ding almost ruptured my ear drums.

Ding!

~Your Arcane pet has activated a skill!

~Active Skill: Aggro Field~

The air around me instantly trembled and a sudden surge of purple aura erupted from my bears eyes. The earth beneath its feet cracked and a faint shimmering circle of violet energy spread outward like rippling thunder.

Regazan froze mid-leap, its entire body twitching violently and its eyes glowed with a primal rage as if its mind had been yanked by invisible chains.

"What… what is this?" it roared, slamming back to the ground. Its focus snapped toward the bear and pure fury consumed its expression. "You think you can command me?!"

It lifted its hand high and a ring of destructive energy formed around its arm almost immediately- parks of red crimson lightning cracked as it expanded and advanced.

"Die with your pet-"

Before the bastard could finish its sentence…

Crack!!!

A blinding flash of yellow lightning tore through he night sky. The bolt screamed down faster than sound itself, slicing through the darkness like a divine spear. It struk Regazan square in the shoulder, sending the bastard spinning violently backward with a guttural roar and shadowy igor pouring out everywhere.

The impact lit up the yard in a instant flash of gold and white, scattering mist and rain into glittering shards.

"What the hell," I muttered, squinting through the haze. I recognized that flash of lightning and unbelievable speed, it came from non-other than Zeddack Quickman, the short stack himself.

He most have spotted regazan from a distance away and used his priced technique to attack from far out.

In a few seconds, the haze cleared, and I could see zed poised on the other side of the courtyard, behind the fountain- his sword drawn and ready to swing it at anytime.

Meanwhile, regazan stood from the fountain slowly, his form was shaky and the shadowy mist around him were beginning to repair the wound Zed inflicted on him. He was now surrounded and I think he acknowledged that— Myself, my new Arcane pet and Zed.

The bastard looked around its surrounding with a mixture of panic and anger etched in its disgusting eyes.

"Tch! You think you have me surrounded! I won't let you turn me into your mindless subordinates!!"

The creature yelled, before slamming its foot into the ground and activating it Soul Manifestation, spreading that eerie red light in all direction of upto ten meters as the Soul Territory.

I immediately braced for impact, sending a barrier of spacial matter towards Zeddack location and one that protected my pet and Chancellor Wagner. I knew the foolish bastard was almost out of energy and this soul manifestation was merely a last ditch effort to not go out without a fight.

Bam!

"Soul Manifestation…"

"Rings of Calamity…"

The Soul Territory took the shape of interlocking rings as of earlier that night.

"Shadow Art… Red Silver Chaotic Afterglow!!!"

The bastard went on a rampage, sending tens of rings, maybe even hundreds of them in a directions of the soul territory and that was in a 360 degree circumference of bombarded ringed area. It virtually tore the whole place with its rings of destruction, bringing down what remained of the chancellor's quarters and even the fountain.

However, due to my barrier, none of us were harmed and just when the chaos had died down, we opened our eyes to see that the Shadow creature was nowhere to be found.
