Chapter 42: Regazan The Blood Faun 4

"...You seem to know some petty tricks, don't you? Fine, if its your wish, I shall grant your death… afterall, I can't resist the urge to cancel out that Arcane energy coursing through your veins."

The creature sent two rings of destruction my way, from both sides.

'Petty tricks is it… we'll see about that when I kill you and turn you into one of these…'

The creature had a point there, I might hold the advantage of numbers, but my pet was way weaker than this creature and I would need something tougher to guarantee victory, that doesn't mean I shouldn't try though.

I knew this very well and the creautre's self confidence also stem from knowing this as well.

Indeed, I needed more powerful pets at my disposal, facing an opponent that can easily overwhelm you has a way of revealing your dreaded weakness.

As expected of a boss from a high ranking dungeon, the fight looked to be even from the side or the perspective of someone like Chancellor Hans Wagner, but in reality, I was getting hit and banged all over my body. How would I be able to defeat this creature at this rate?

We exchange several blows in the blink of an eye and I used every skill I had available to me, my Space Manipulation skill was active, allowing me to weave and doge attack, appearing and disappearing at strategic locations, the Erebis skill was also active, covering my blades in a glove of black fire, I didn't bother activating the Divine Thread skill because I knew it wouldn't give me any feedback information because my opponent had activated its Soul Manifestation.

Yet, even with all this advancements, I was still getting banged in several locations of my body. Naga was of great help, but ultimately was flung to the side several times, leaving me and the bastard.

The creature took a cheap shot at the Chancellor, while in his vulnerable state he could not even defend himself. The red ring of destruction travelled fast, but even though I was stuck in a seemingly dangerous situation of my own, I still managed to shout out.

"Naga!!"

As if it been waiting for me to call, Naga slithered with lighting speed from the sidelines and immediately took the hit from the rings of destruction. Naga fell to the ground with a gaping hole in its side and its breath now shaky as if sucking the life out of it.

The Chancellor rushed to the serpents side to offer some kind of consolation for its undying loyalty to its master, even putting its body in harms way just at the beck and call of its master— me I was its master.

I couldn't leave the fight I was occupied with to focus on the dying serpent, but the systems notification rang in my ears.

~Your Arcane pet >Naga< is in critical condition~

~Do you want to hibernate it so it could begin its healing process?~

~Yes~

~No~

"Yes…" I answered immediately as I managed to swing my hand in the direction of the creatures neck, to which it dodged effortlessly.

~Your Arcane Pet >Naga< has been hibernated~

~Healing process has begun~

~Estimated time for completion of healing process~

~672 Hours~

That was such a long time to completely heal an Arcane pet, but considering the amount of time it takes for ordinary Arcane pets to heal, this was doable. Some pet tamers tend to retire after their pets gets injured in battle as it takes quite the long time for Arcane pet to heal from injuries, unless there is an intervention from a Healer or the pet itself possess healing properties.

In this case, Naga had non, hopefully if I make it out of this battle alive Valeria would help me regain the strength to it.

Naga's exit shifted the power scale even more to the creature's favour as I was now struggling to even have a good glance at it because I was growing slower and slower with exhaustion and it kept moving faster and faster.

I didn't have Naga's skill again because it wasn't active so every hit I took from the bastards rings of destruction was straight and utterly hitting my body, rocking me hard- back, forth, left, right and center, breaking some bones in my body and affecting some organs.

And just when I thought all my chips were down and I didn't have any hope of coming out of this alive, a thought streaked through my mind like a bolt of lightning, not a thought- a memory rather.

Back, during my entrance exam into RAA, the mid level boss Shadow creature that was supposed to be a test for a fellow candidate went haywire and out of control, causing commotion and destruction around the arena. I stepped in, showing off my newly acquired skills and I managed to defeat the creature and secured its magic stone within my inventory.

I remembered it.

Right in the heat of battle, my fucking life on the line and my mind went to that?

I had almost forgot I stored that item in my inventory, and not just that, many other magic stones from other smaller, weaker Shadow creatures from subsequent missions.

At this point in time, my Arcane levels were low and my eyesight was beginning to blur. Knowing fully well this creature is not going to give me the space to let it replenish on its own, I had to think with with creativity.

"Regazan!!"

I yelled as I unleashed a barrage of dagger attacks at the blood Faun boss with all the strength I could muster.

"Haaa! How is it that you know my name? Is that one of your cheap tricks too!" it yelled back with a sick smile spread across his face as it dodged and weave around my attacks like they were struck by feathers. "Come on! Harder! Hit me harder!"

I instantly pounced back, stepping out of the effective range of the Soul Territory and retracting my daggers into my inventory rift.

"Space Manipulation Technique…"

I muttered as I spread out my palms, controlling the space in front of me, bending it and adjusting it to my will, the space twisting and shivered like transparent glass.

I weaved and weaved, gathering a huge chunk of the space matter and when I felt it was enough, I forcefully sent the matter Regazan's way.

"Attract!!!"

Shoooshh!!!

The matter swished through the air with crazy speed heading for the bastard, Regazan twisted his head in amusement, probably wondering what kind of phenomenon it was. The crazy thing is that, the bastard didn't bother dodging or evading the tactic, it allowed itself to be consumed by the attractive force of the technique as the space matter drew in anything and everything around it like a magnet into a clump of ball spinning at high speed.

Regazan was just laughing with intrigue and excitement, he just wanted to see how well this attack would affect him and how its body will react to it.

"Interesting aren't you!!!" it yelled while its body kept spinning with the random debris and object picked up.

"Tch! I'll wipe that grin off your ugly face!"

"Space Manipulation Technique…"

"Repel!!!"

I charged the space matter on the fingertips of my index finger and sent it the bastards way without a single thought, without wasting anytime.

Fiom!

Boom!

The attractive and repelling spacial matter came together in a violent meeting, with both light and sound erupting in a deadly explosion that scattered the debris everywhere.

For a second, I didn't know what had happened. Joining both spacial masses together was something I had never done or even thought of doing. Now the nature of their meeting was so violent that I was sure Regazan was not going to escape from it without getting seriously harmed or even at best dead.

Its laughter was no longer audible when the light and sound finally died down, for a second I thought the bastard was defeated but I quickly reduced my expectations to not get disappointed.

Just then, a heavy thud landed on the ground. Its body dropped from the sky, from thousands of feet in the air, creating a crater upon its landing. It didn't look the same, like I said there was no way it was escaping unharmed after allowing itself to experience such a harmful and violent attack.

It looked different. Almost 60% of its bodily structures were gone, including a horn and half of its face. Then I caught it, its magic stone was exposed, its Anti-arcane stone was exposed, the very item that gives it life. If only I could get to it, I would have this creature within my control.

"you almost had me there… Levi, I will admit I did underestimate you a second ago, and I paid dearly for it…" Regazan said as its body began to slowly and steadily repair itself and almost simultaneously the Soul Territory of its manifestation began to vanish.

"Ah! It seems I am my limit, I've used too much Anti-arcane energy… to be fair I was just testing the full extent of my powers, being free sought have its way of making you want to go all out" it continued as the final parts of its body repaired and the stone went back into hiding.

"you are not going anywhere, Blood Faun!" I yelled as I dipped my hand into the spacial rift for my inventory and pulled out a huge Anti-arcane stone that belonged to the creature I killed during the exam.

The bastard noticed the magic stone in my hand and its expression immediately switched to that of someone that has finally seen his brother after being apart for a long period of time.

The surprise etched on its face was straight up unmistakeable and the change was nevertheless much more surprising to me because all I had ever made of its face was that sly, disgusting grin that exposed its malicious red teeth.

"What… you have the essence of my fellow kin, is that what you want to use to recharge your magic?!" it said with a tang of anger within its voice.

I took a breathe of calmness to steady myself, looking at the magic stone intensively, at the same time I activated a barrier of glass-like spacial manipulation to protect myself from any attack Regazan would send my way.

Ding!

The system tone rang in my ear, and its interface flashed to life with several windows and dialogue boxes hovering in front of me.

~Rebirth is now possible~

Yes! I had now become strong enough to be able to have that Shadow creature as a pet of mine.

~Would you like to turn this creature into your personal arcane pet?~

~Yes~

~No~

"Yes…" I answered with a nod.

Ding!

The system replied by listing the actions I should take to begin and perform the ritual that would successfully; transform this negative magic stone into a fully fledged creature pulsing with positive Arcane energy that would be loyal to my every command.

The ritual was simple and I followed the instructions while Regazan watched with wide eyes filled with question and intrigue as did what the system asked me to do: hand signals, drops of blood, chants and Arcane outlets.

Then, right when I was about to perform the last chant, I looked at Regazan dead in the eye and said:

"Its alright bastard, I am merely showing you your future…"
