Chapter 4: Great Enemy of the Gods
At the beginning of this world's creation, there existed countless beings of extreme power, also known in religions as the gods.
The epoch in which the gods existed was called the First Epoch, and at the same time, the gods were called the Gold Species.
However, many years later in the war of the gods, countless gods fell, the world was shattered, and the world could not even bear the existence of the deities.
The few remaining deities were exiled to various other planes by the great will of the world.
The remaining weaker creatures, such as giants and dragons, then ruled this world.
These beings, only weaker than the gods, were called the Silver Species.
Unfortunately, as the times changed, the number of the Silver Species gradually dwindled, and they eventually hid in various corners of Capras.
In a world where the gods, dragons, and giants had all disappeared, three powerful races with the bloodline of deities—Angels, Demons, and the Sea Tribe—dominated the world.
However, the three great races weakened in constant warfare, and in order to preserve their races, they each retreated to different places.
The Angels went to the sky far from the ground and established Heaven, the Demons survived in a place incomparably distant beneath the ground and established the Abyss, and the Sea Tribe continued to multiply in the far depths of the ocean.
At this point, the era of the three great races came to an end.
This epoch was called the Second Epoch, and these three races were called the Bronze Species.
Then, in an era several thousand years from the present, several weak races rose up.
They were humans, elves, and beastmen, also known as the Black Iron Species.
Such secrets, however, were buried in the long river of history.
Only a small handful of people understood the truth of this world——
The vast majority of people, just like the present Bray, were completely clueless.
“What did you say?” Bray had just started to speak when he was interrupted by the uncle.
“Well, anyway, I'm sorry, there's no time to chat with you now.”
“The big guy is here…” the uncle said in a deep voice, his expression extremely solemn.
“What do you mean…”
Then Bray understood what "the big guy" meant.
Boom!!!!!!!!!! The prison, as if made of paper, collapsed in an instant, its walls crumbling and bricks flying.
And then Bray finally got a clear look at the owner of the roar from before.
A body as massive as a clock tower, with reddish-purple muscle fibers clearly visible.
Rusty, pitch-black iron armor, as thick as a wall, was draped over this huge body.
A mixed, beast-like face——
It had the features of a lion, a goat, and an eagle.
Thick, pitch-black chains were wrapped around the monster's arms, binding it to the ground.
The ground was covered with strange patterns, the patterns filled with a bewitching purple.
Although Bray really wanted to ask what it was, the uncle was in no mood to pay him any mind.
A salted fish should do what a salted fish does.
Bray decisively found a seemingly safe place to hide.
“Hey, you Bronze Species fat demon.”
The uncle leaped lightly in front of the big guy.
The being called a demon by the uncle didn't speak, and directly smashed a fist into the ground.
The chains let out a loud “ping”, and the ground that was hit quickly cracked, the floor breaking into countless bricks.
“Roar!!!!!” The demon roared, frantically destroying the surrounding buildings.
“Watch your tone.”
“Standing before you is a great demon. And you are but an ant of the Black Iron Species.”
“Right, right, you're a great demon, and I also know your name is Garuda.” the uncle said casually.
Without another word, Garuda opened his hand and slapped it towards the arrogant uncle, a cold qi spreading outwards.
Seeing this, the uncle's pupils shrank, and he retreated rapidly.
But the uncle's movements were still a beat too slow.
The uncle, who should have retreated, froze in place.
Frost froze him to the ground in front of him.
“…” The uncle, maintaining the posture of retreating with his knife held, was frozen to the ground, like an ice sculpture.
“I know you, you're a fool from the 「Great Enemy of the Gods」.”
Garuda sneered.
“Too bad, I'm not some ridiculous clown who wields demonic power and calls himself a 「Demon King」, nor am I one of those trash demons you usually defeat.”
Garuda pinched the uncle's head, but controlled his strength very well, managing not to crush it.
The chains restricted Garuda's movements, which annoyed him greatly.
“It's rare for a fool to summon me, I was in a good mood, tsk, these annoying chains…”
Garuda yanked hard, the chains tensed, and rang out with a “ping”.
But they just wouldn't break.
As beings who dwell deep in the Abyss, it is generally very troublesome for demons to come to the surface world.
No matter how powerful a demon is, they must pay a price to break through the Abyss.
The fastest shortcut is to be summoned.
Some people who have understood the world's secrets would arrogantly attempt to summon beings they cannot control, in an attempt to obtain power that surpasses the Black Iron Species.
Garuda's appearance this time was truly the suicidal act of some self-righteous spellcaster.
The spellcaster summoned the great demon at the cost of the dismembered bodies of everyone in the magic circle.
Hoping to obtain the forbidden knowledge belonging to the Bronze Species…
“Truly interesting ants.”
Garuda opened his palm, revealing in its center a female mage whose delicate body was mangled beyond recognition.
With a whoosh—— the female mage's body was reduced to ashes in the purple flames.
But, just as Garuda was distracted, the ice sculpture began to show a strange change.
“Kara.” A short, strange sound rang out.
“Since you know I am a member of the 「Great Enemy of the Gods」.”
“You should know how many methods we have to deal with non-Black Iron Species beings.”
The frost broke, and the uncle's voice came from behind the ice shards.
“We are the guardians of the Black Iron Species, the nemesis of you higher species.”
“「Great Enemy of the Gods」.”
He held his long knife in a reverse grip vertically in front of him, the blade emitting a frightening chill.
“The name of our organization is pretty good, isn't it?” the uncle said to the demon with a crooked smile.
