Garion grinned as he tightened his grip on the greatsword. "Alright, Patriarch. Let's make this fight interesting."
Without warning, he dashed forward, and his speed was fast... far faster than a weapon that heavy should allow.
Raviel frowned, raising his hand instantly. "You want interesting? Fine."
His mana flared, flames and lightning bursting around his body. "Let's see if you can handle this."
He swung his arm, launching [Flame Arc] followed by [Thunder Burst], waves of fire and electricity crashing toward Garion.
Garion smirked. "Too slow."
He swung his greatsword in a wide arc. The massive blade cut through the air, deflecting both attacks like he was swatting away flies.
And then Garion stepped in close and slammed the flat side of his sword against Raviel's chest.
BAM!
Raviel stumbled back a few steps, coughing slightly. "Tch… hitting with the flat side?"
Garion shrugged. "You're the Patriarch. I figured you could handle a little tap."
Raviel wiped the corner of his mouth, smirking. "Don't get cocky."
He raised his hand again, summoning a circle of mana above his head. "Let's see how you handle this!"
Dozens of fire and lightning spheres formed and launched one after another, filling the air with explosions.
Garion swung his sword again, the heavy weapon moving smoothly as he deflected each incoming spell.
"You call this pressure? My disciples do better warm-ups!"
Raviel gritted his teeth. "Then let's add a bit more!"
His aura flared even stronger as he chained [Flame Lance], [Thunder Strike], and [Ignite Burst] together.
Garion stepped through it all, the greatsword flashing in his hands.
Every swing blocked, deflected, or redirected Raviel's attacks. The flames split apart, and the thunder scattered harmlessly.
When Garion finally closed in again, he swung the greatsword in a low sweep, forcing Raviel to jump back.
Raviel landed and frowned. "You're just using the same sword moves as before, but bigger. What's the difference?"
Garion smirked, lifting the blade onto his shoulder. "The difference?"
He pointed at it. "This one hits harder and doubles as a shield."
Raviel's eyes narrowed. "So brute strength again?"
Garion chuckled. "Not just strength but precision. A greatsword isn't about wild swings. It's about making each hit matter."
Raviel tightened his grip on his sword. "Then let's see how precise you really are."
He rushed in, flames and thunder bursting around his feet, his blade wrapped in burning lightning.
Garion raised his greatsword just in time, meeting the strike head-on.
The clash shook the entire room. Sparks flew across the floor, mixing with bursts of flame and shockwaves of pressure.
Garion grinned as they pushed against each other. "Now that's more like it!"
Raviel gritted his teeth, the heat around his body growing even hotter. "Don't underestimate me, Garion!"
Garion laughed. "Then stop holding back!"
They broke apart and charged again, blades clashing in rapid succession.
Finally, Garion twisted his sword, knocking Raviel's blade aside and slamming the flat side against his shoulder, sending him sliding backward.
Raviel steadied himself, panting. "You're really enjoying this, aren't you?"
Garion smirked, resting the greatsword on the ground. "Of course. Watching you struggle against me. How could I not?"
Raviel chuckled, shaking his head. "You talk too much for a guy swinging a mountain."
Garion laughed. "Yeah, yeah, and you're actually doing pretty good. You're starting to mix swordsmanship with your spells."
Raviel raised an eyebrow. "So now you admit I've got skill?"
Garion smirked. "A little. But let's see how far you can take it. Let's test just how good you are as a magic swordsman."
Raviel grinned, lifting his blade again. "Magic swordsman, huh? Sounds nice. Alright, Garion, let's test this new fighting style."
He took a deep breath, his mana flaring around him.
Flames burst along the length of his sword, mixing with crackling lightning that wrapped around his arm.
Garion straightened, tightening his grip on his weapon. "That's more like it. Show me what you really can really do now."
Raviel stomped forward, sparks exploding from the ground.
He swung his sword horizontally, sending a wave of fire toward Garion.
Garion raised his greatsword, slicing through the flames and stepping into the attack. "Too easy!"
Raviel smirked. "Didn't say I was done."
He twisted his wrist, and a bolt of lightning shot out from his free hand [Thunder Pierce], aimed directly at Garion's chest.
Garion shifted his stance, slamming the flat of his sword into the lightning attack, scattering it harmlessly across the floor.
"Good try. But you're still thinking like a spellcaster. Blend them together!"
Raviel clicked his tongue. "Alright then. Watch carefully."
He dashed forward, faster than before, his sword covered in flame and thunder.
Each swing came heavy with power, each step flashing with heat and sparks.
Garion met every blow head-on, their blades clashing and sending shockwaves through the room.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Garion grinned through the fight. "Now we're talking!"
Raviel gritted his teeth, pushing harder.
He used [Flame Burst Step], a movement skill that propelled him forward with a short explosion of fire.
And then he used the momentum to deliver an overhead strike fast and hard.
Garion blocked it with his greatsword, but the impact sent him sliding a few feet back.
"Not bad at all. You're starting to use mana to boost your body, not just your spells."
Raviel exhaled sharply, sparks running across his shoulders. "Feels weird, but it's effective."
Garion nodded. "Good. Now stop holding back. Use both elements fully. Let's see what happens when you go all in."
Raviel grinned, eyes gleaming. "You asked for it."
He raised his sword, his aura exploding outward. Flame and thunder spiraled around him, merging into a fiery storm.
His mana surged, forming a faint outline of a blazing storm behind him.
Garion chuckled quietly. "Now that's the Patriarch I wanted to see."
Raviel pointed his sword forward. "Ready?"
Garion lifted his weapon again, smirking. "Always."
In the next instant, Raviel disappeared in a flash of lightning.
Garion's eyes tracked him just in time to block a blazing strike from above.
The collision created a shockwave that shook the entire room.
Raviel's voice came through the haze. "How's that for mixing sword and magic?"
Garion laughed, pushing him back with raw strength. "Better, but still too predictable!"
Raviel charged again, fire burning under his feet and lightning trailing behind his sword.
Garion swung his greatsword upward, deflecting the attack and sending sparks into the air.
Their battle continued, and each hit was heavier than the last, each move sharper and faster.
Finally, both of them jumped back, breathing hard.
Garion smiled wide. "Now that's what I call a real fight."
Raviel wiped sweat from his face, chuckling. "You're insane… but I'll admit, that was fun."
