I will be a demon in this life!

Chapter 196

The cloudy sky barely allowed the luminous silhouette of the moon to be seen.

It was almost midnight.

Inside the large white and gold military tent.

Commanders Sansen Grivent, Alden Milariant, Lukas Laniert, and Rich Mender gave their reports while seated around a table on which there was a map showing the positions occupied by each commander and those occupied by the demons.

When everyone had given their respective reports, they fell silent.

The four commanders were curious about the subject wearing a hood and red robe with dark patterns. Their curiosity increased because they could not sense the level of power of this strange subject. But since no one was unaware of the existence of the Inquisiderian group that Olbert Vensick was said to be a part of, they all correctly concluded that he must be a Crepitante or someone sent by that group.

Superior Commander Olbert had listened to the reports of all the commanders, who assured him that they had only sent inexperienced and low-level troops to the battlefield, so their main forces were ready to act at any moment.

-In one week, organize everything. In one week, we will attack on different fronts, defeat the demons, or force them to retreat. Organize your subordinates and command them if necessary. Olbert paused and then looked at Lukas Laniert. This warrior will accompany you. He is powerful and capable of facing the demon named Galot Ertrael without difficulty.

Commander Lukas Laniert made an effort to hide his skepticism, because he had experience and knowledge, so he knew that Galot Ertrael was not an easy demon to defeat. In fact, since Galot appeared, humans could only contain him.

"Ha ha ha, you pathetic creature. I could crush your head like a grape," said the man in the red robe and hood in a mocking and contemptuous tone.

The man in the red robe and hood was none other than the False Edmund. None of those present could estimate his power due to the dark and sinister patterns on his red robes.

Olbert Venzick just shook his head, and Lukas didn't respond to False Edmund's words after seeing the superior commander's reaction.

"Just let him take care of the demon Galot. You lead your army and wipe out the demonic forces you're facing," Olbert concluded firmly.

"As you command, superior commander," replied Commander Lukas Laniert.

After the commanders exchanged some ideas about the strategies to be followed on the day of the attack, the military council ended.

••••

A week later, shortly after sunrise, human forces in the various border territories began to marshal their armies of thousands upon thousands of soldiers. This time, although low-ranking soldiers remained at the forefront, the entire main armies were in formation.

...

"Today this charade will end," murmured Commander Fercan Sester as he gazed at the horizon where the enemy army was positioned, then placed his hand on the hilt of his sword.

Shouts!

The soldiers of the Sevec Marquisate began to cheer their Grand General Balac Sevec, who had emerged from his military tent.

Balac Sevec wore an elegant uniform in the colors of the Sevec Marquisate. His presence was imposing. A deputy commander approached and handed Balac a sword with a gold sheath encrusted with red gems.

Balac nodded and took the sword, then walked until he stood in front of his commanders, deputy commanders, and soldiers.

"The marquisate pays you well because it believes in your talent. Now the time has come to prove why you have been employed. The enemy is not weak, so those who survive will receive compensation based on their merits."

After those words, Balac Sevec drew his sword and raised it as high as he could. Balac's presence spread like a shockwave that instilled courage in his subordinates.

"Give it your all on the battlefield! Do not be afraid! Your General will be the first to face the enemy!" exclaimed Balac Sevec.

Balac! Balac!...

The cheers of the marquisate's soldiers could be heard. Although Balac's reputation did not match that of Galot Ertrael, in the Sevec marquisate there was no figure more admired and idolized than the Great Demonic General Balac Sevec.

Balac pointed his sword in the direction of the human army and exclaimed:

"Attack!"

Balac Sevec took a step and the ground beneath his feet and all around him shook violently, then he leaped a great distance to be the first to begin the battle, just as he had promised.

The demons of the marquisate, whose morale could not have been higher, followed their great General while maintaining their military formations.

...

The counterpart facing Balac Sevec's army was the human army led by Commander Sansen Grivent.

Sansen Griven was a warrior just over two meters tall, dressed in black armor, his face wrinkled, and his lost left eye marked by a deep vertical scar that covered part of his forehead and cheek. Sansen's hair was black and tied in braids, his build was robust, and his appearance commanded respect.

Sansen gripped the heavy silver spear with a red tip in his right hand and brought his left hand to the scar on his face.

"Maybe this time I can return the favor, you damned demon general," thought Sansen as he waved his spear and a roar echoed throughout the human army.

It was not the first time they had faced each other. Every time they had fought since Balac appeared, Sansen had been unable to reap great rewards, and he was determined to tip the scales.

"Advance! Everyone kill as many demons as you can!" Sansen ordered, leaving the rest to his subcommanders as he headed toward Balac Sevec to prevent him from advancing toward the human army.

...

Balac made an upward slash, covering his sword with a demonic aura.

Sansen swung his aura-covered spear at Balac.

Bang!

A powerful shockwave spread out, the ground shook, and the two powerful enemies and rivals began their fierce battle.

...

As the ground shook and power spread from the place where the leaders of both forces faced each other, both armies advanced while maintaining a safe distance so as not to be affected by the battle between Demon General Balac and Commander Sansen.

...

This was the beginning of the fighting between human forces and demonic forces in one of the territories in conflict.
