Martial Arts Worlds

Chapter 743: Adamas' Reinforcements

At the shore of the mainland, about fifty kilometers away from the Downed Prison, a skinny man waved a fishing rod and cast his line out to the calm dark waters.

With him, he had a bottle of beer tucked into his backpack and a radio playing a commentary of Punch Ball match between the Red Rockets and the Blue Bombers.

"Szzz…. And in the last few minutes of the game, the score has been settled in favor of the Blue Bombers with a score of 3-2.

"…Red Rockets are currently in possession of the ball, and they have one more chance at tying the game to go to overtime."

The young man checked the time on his wristwatch.

3:30 AM.

It was very late, but he was a night owl either way because of his job occupation that required him to work graveyard shifts.

Since today was his day off, he went to do some fishing and enjoy the quietness of the world.

Tap… tap… tap… tap…

In that moment, a few droplets of water began to fall from the dark skies, falling on the man's forehead and thick hair.

"Hmm?"

He looked at the dark clouds gathering above and sighed.

"World Seas weather is as unpredictable as ever, but well, luckily I brought my umbrella with me."

The man grabbed the umbrella from his backpack and opened it just in time as the rain started to pour down.

He placed it in a way that perfectly shielded him from the pouring rain.

In that moment, he noticed that the surface level of the sea had risen rather drastically, and it was almost reaching the top of the pier.

"What is going on over in the World Seas?"

He frowned, pulled the fishing rod's line from the water, and took his backpack and umbrella with him before heading out.

Rumble~ Rumble~

As soon as he did that, the sky started thundering, and flashes of lightning filled the skies above.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Explosions rang throughout the icy battlefield as the navy battleships turned their cannons and fired at the escaping criminals.

Some criminals just abandoned the thought of battling, and tried just running away, but since they were surrounded from all sides, it wasn't really working.

"Big Brain, think of a solution!"

Coppah shouted while he summoned his clones to fight the navy soldiers, but his clones barely lasted ten seconds.

With each summon, he grew weaker and more tired.

"Argh!"

Big Brain touched her forehead and pushed the gears inside her brain to work harder.

She felt like her head was splitting in half.

In that moment, her eyes widened, and it wasn't a look of someone that had thought of a plan.

It was a look of someone who had just realized the severity of the situation.

"T-There is none… I have calculated every possibility, and if the situation stays the same, we will be slowly killed off."

She said.

"What is your big brain good for then?!"

Coppah asked angrily.

They didn't know, but Big Brain had significantly hyped up the importance of her brain capabilities, as she wanted the criminals to prioritize her survival.

If she made herself look important, they would ensure that she would be protected during their escape.

While her ability made her smarter than an ordinary person and increased the speed of her thought processes, it wasn't at a superhuman level.

She was only fifty percent smarter than an ordinary person, and thus, there were even people smarter than her without that ability!

"You're in the way!"

At that moment, a criminal pushed her aside, and she staggered backwards, and then, she heard the chilly sound of a sword being unsheathed.

She turned around and just saw a sword come at her before it beheaded her.

A distance away from the icy battlefield, a navy ship with white sails made its way towards the sound of the battle.

It was a ship belonging to Vice Admiral Adamas.

"Vice Admiral, sir, are you sure that we should be doing this?"

A navy soldier voiced his concerns.

"Do what exactly? You need to be more specific."

Adamas said.

"….Well, this whole thing. We're going there without any disguise, so if we act suspiciously, we will make the navy investigate us.

"Is it really worth it to put our careers and freedom at risk for him? Because as far as I remember, the deal wasn't for this whole shit to happen.

"That guy caused the most catastrophic prison break in history!

"I am sure Fleet Admiral Xerxus wouldn't blame us if we decide to back off."

The navy soldier said.

"The previous plan was to use camouflage to hide our identity when picking him up, but of course it isn't possible anymore.

"We already have a good story backing us. We were in nearby waters when we heard about the prison break and came as reinforcement.

"And regarding Kiernan… Xerxus thinks very highly of him, and so does the Martial Order backing him. We don't know much about the Martial Order, but I'd rather be on good terms with them.

"Also, we owe Xerxus to do our best, after all, he had saved all of our lives more than in one occasion, and didn't he also pay for your daughter to attend the finest school in the city?"

Adamas turned to the navy soldiers, and they were all thinking about things that Xerxus had done for them.

"I do not force any of you to follow me."

He said.

"Nonsense!"

A rough-sounding gray-bearded man said and grabbed the hilt of his sword with a big smirk on his face.

"We will follow you even to the depths of hell, isn't that right?"

He looked at the navy soldier who voiced his concerns, and since he was the youngest of the crew, despite being already fifty years old, he didn't have a chance to sail with Xerxus as much as the rest.

"…Of course."

The navy soldier with a serious look.

"That's settled then!"

The gray-bearded soldier said.

"Sail at full speed!"

Adamas shouted.

At the roof of the ship, Antigone sat cross-legged and looked at the massive mountain-sized waves that stood between them and the icy battlefield.

However, she doubted that those waves were strong enough to stand between Vice Admiral Adamas and his powerful crew.
