Chapter 60: The Golden Robot

Noor leaped from the ground again, his hair soaked and sweat dripping from his body. He heard Jane's voice calling for him to run, but he ignored her and thought about his next move.

Another reckless idea flashed in his mind, and he decided it was his last resort, or he would be finished for good.

He took an electromagnetic bomb from his bag, specially designed to disable anything electronic in its field, another smoke bomb, and some sticky explosives.

Noor created two copies of light, feeling his energy was almost depleted and that this might be his last attempt to do anything.

Noor charged toward the spider, preceded by the two copies. The spider aimed its plasma shots at them, and the first copy vanished. Noor swerved left and right to avoid the shots. After getting a little closer to the spider, the other copy vanished, so the spider's focus was on him. Noor saw that he hadn't gotten close enough, so he created a shield of solid crystal to protect him from the shots. The shield vanished, so he quickly created another one and blocked the next shot. He continued this until he was able to get close enough. He grabbed the electromagnetic bomb and threw it at the spider. It landed on top of it, hitting it with a barrage of electromagnetic electricity that made it stagger in place, its aiming and vision systems scrambled.

Noor threw a smoke bomb in front of the spider to completely block its vision after the first bomb, then passed through the smoke and came out from it until he was under the spider. He grabbed the sticky bombs and began to place them one by one on the spider's legs as he ran between them. He placed six bombs, then ran forward quickly until the spider was behind him. He pressed the detonation button. The spider's legs exploded, and it fell to the ground with great force, trying to balance on what was left of its legs.

Noor stood, catching his breath, then headed toward the remaining leg. He created a long chain ending in a hook, swung it in the air, then threw it at the leg until it wrapped around it and tied it up. He pulled it until the leg gave way, and the spider's balance was completely lost. It fell to the ground, and the eye was now in front of Noor, swaying violently. Noor grabbed a grenade in his hand and threw it at the eye, saying in a fierce tone:

"Goodbye, you bastard."

The grenade exploded in the eye, shattering it into small pieces all over the road. The spider fell silent, not moving after the part that controlled it was destroyed.

Noor threw his body on the ground and panted heavily from the sheer effort he had exerted. He saw that he had little energy left. He saw Jane running toward him, not believing what she had seen. She reached him, her eyes filled with a mixture of astonishment and anger.

"Are you an idiot?" she said in a nervous tone. "You almost got yourself killed with that recklessness! But that was truly amazing."

Noor smiled at her as he wiped the sweat that was pouring from all over his body.

"We have to get out of here, or more of them will come," Jane said, scanning the road around her.

But before their joy at destroying this thing could last, another one ambushed them from the same road. They heard its familiar roar in the streets. Noor felt his chest tighten and his body tremble. He saw that he had no energy to face another one.

Jane kept urging Noor to stand up and run, but he felt it was their end. He stood up and ran slowly, staggering, while the spider appeared behind them with its annoying electronic sound and the screech of its feet, its cannons preparing to slaughter them. Noor looked ahead and found that they were still in the middle of the road, and the robot was only a few meters away from them.

Noor knew that his ideas had run out, and so had his energy. Time was running out, and the robot was approaching quickly.

He felt that this was the end. But suddenly, he saw something golden shining on the glass of the building on his left, like an insect crawling quickly on the glass. And suddenly, the insect-like thing leaped high into the sky, and it became clear that its physiological structure was very similar to a human's. It landed fiercely on the spider. The spider's body hit the ground hard, and its legs could not withstand the pressure and began to slowly fall apart.

The golden thing grabbed the large eye on top of the spider's head with its hand and pulled it with great force until it was torn from its place, leaving only the wires connected to the spider's body. Then it threw the eye far away. Noor was surprised when he saw the spider get up again, waving its legs in every direction.

He and Jane stopped when they saw what was happening and stared hard at the strange golden thing that had taken down the giant robot by itself without any effort. But that was not what amazed them as much as the fact that it did not look human at all. But they could not determine its identity because of the rampage of the spider, which began to spin around, destroying everything around it fiercely as it shook its body, trying to shake off the golden insect that was perched on its back. But it seemed that the strange golden thing was resisting all this easily. Then, of its own free will, it jumped high off the spider, and Noor saw wings emerge from its back.

The golden thing landed on the ground, and its features began to become clear now. Both Noor and Jane retreated, astonished and confused. Noor pointed his finger at it, muttering:

"A robot... fighting... a robot?!"

He looked at Jane, and it seemed from her facial expression that she shared the same questions. The robot and the spider were about a hundred meters away from them, but they were as clear as day amidst all this confusion.

Its body was covered in gold, and there was something round that shone at its heart, like a jewel reflecting the sunlight. Similarly, the same thing was located just above its forehead, while its eyes shone with a dark blue color. Its physiological structure was very similar to humans, with the emotionless features of robots, and its body was symmetrical and made with great skill.

It seemed as if the golden robot was running in strange, undulating movements between the legs of the spider, which was trying to crush it with its eight legs as it stomped the ground in all directions.

Noor noticed the strange movements of the golden robot.

"Is it skating?" he said, tracking its movements with his eyes.

"It seems to have wheels on its feet, like the skates we sometimes wear!" Jane replied, agreeing with him.

The golden robot skated gracefully between the spider's legs, avoiding its blows with wavy movements, while it produced two circular light saws from the palms of its hands.

The saws spun at a terrible speed, shining with a bright blue light as the robot skated with confidence and composure between the legs of the kicking and stomping spider. The robot raised its hands and passed the saws through the spider's legs, and two legs were cut from the left side of the spider. It continued to skate between its hind legs, then turned 180 degrees, returning to its course, and cut off one of its hind legs. The spider began to lose its balance.

The golden robot passed under its massive body toward the front left leg and cut it in half. The spider fell on its left side, and its movement gradually slowed down. The golden robot turned and headed toward its head.

Noor signaled for Jane to continue their escape. She nodded and began to run with him, moving away.
