The old man fell silent, as if recalling stories from ancient times. All eyes in the room were on him, eager. He broke the silence, his voice calm and steady.

"First, you must not be angered by what I am about to say. I do not want you to react emotionally. Wait until I have explained every word. I must say that you... are not on planet Earth."

"What?!" Eyad screamed, his eyes bloodshot. "What in God's name are you saying? Are you joking with me?!"

"Eyad," Omar shouted at him, "I don't understand what he's saying any more than you do, but let him finish!"

Eyad fell silent with difficulty, trying to restrain his anger and confusion. The old man continued, "I will explain everything to you now. What happened is that we used to inhabit planet Earth thousands of years ago. We were called the greatest race of humans, and I will explain everything, so let me continue."

No one said a word, despite their overwhelming desire to respond to what he was saying. He continued, "We used to live on the island of Atlantis, this island that disappeared, which has become a legend among you. But it did not sink. We are in it now."

Omar lost his composure. "What???"

"I will explain. I know very well that you are disturbed now by what you are hearing, but you will understand everything when I finish telling my story. Atlantis had reached a tremendous scientific advancement and had created and produced many wonderful things. But what distinguished it most were the people in it, as they were the purest and the best on the face of the Earth. Meaning, they did not fight among themselves, and they did not spend their time in disputes and trivialities that are of no use. They knew that their common interests lay in their unity and in using their minds to the best of their ability. There was no ignorant person in Atlantis, and that is why they dealt with each other with all comfort, peace, and love. And the blessings in Atlantis were endless. The people in Atlantis knew that evil, greed, and the inability to control the whispers of the soul would lead them to the most severe pains, atrocities, and countless conflicts, as was happening in the world around them. So no one dared to do evil, and the widespread knowledge helped in this, because ignorance is the main reason for all the conflicts that happened to humans in the past. Ignorance is the strongest enemy of man, and this is what the ruler of Atlantis, who had been through a lot of suffering to create the utopian city, the paradise on Earth, was sure of. He worked to eliminate ignorance and whims and to pay attention to science and to all the different matters that make a person understand the true meaning of his existence in the universe, and to make him discover the universe and its secrets and the life around him, instead of wasting his time killing, displacing, and torturing his own kind. That is why Atlantis became a beacon of knowledge and a paradise on Earth. But danger surrounded it from all sides. The ignorant people around it did not stop attacking it and trying to occupy it and control its resources. And the people of Atlantis were a peaceful people who hated fighting, killing, and taking lives. We believe that every soul around us is a soul honored by God and should not be lost in the darkness. But we were forced to fight to protect our island and our paradise. That is why the ancients created the old machines, and these were the first attempts to create a robot. Of course, they were not as perfect as we have now, but they were very good at their time to repel the armies of the enemies. The old machines had solid bodies that were resistant to the enemy's firearms."

And so, the old machines were able to protect us and repelled the aggression from us for a long time. We became invincible thanks to them. The enemies tried to make machines like them, but they failed. Their knowledge did not enable them to create a combat robot. They could only make planes, ships, and firearms, but this was not enough to control Atlantis. Of course, they called us sorcerers and frightened the people of us, saying that we were the origin of evil and that they had to eradicate us to preserve planet Earth. And of course, they fabricated rumors about what was happening inside Atlantis, and so fear and terror began to creep into the hearts of people just by mentioning the island of Atlantis. We felt that the situation would not last long until Atlantis fell into their hands. All we wanted was to live in peace and explore everything that God had created and use it for the benefit of mankind, but evil always finds a way into sick hearts."

"We thought of escaping to another planet, but the planets were vast distances away from us, and we did not know if they were suitable for life or not. All we had to do was arm ourselves with good and knowledge, to repel the evil of the devils of mankind from us. But we felt inside us that maybe one day we would not be able to hold them back any longer. And suddenly, after the terrible corruption of the earth, and the humans reaching the peak of evil, corruption, foolishness, wars, destruction, killing, displacement, injustice, and the exploitation of the strong by the weak in a way that had never been seen before, the expected divine punishment came to fall on the earth. And we received the news of the coming of a great flood that would drown the unjust nations and destroy their civilization. But it was also going to touch us, and Atlantis would sink and disappear into oblivion. We thought it was the end of humans and that no one from the corrupt humans would survive after what they had done, and that perhaps God would create other, better creatures to inherit the earth and understand the true meaning of life.
