The giant robots would grab humans and crush them in their hands. They would capture some and hand them over to the bees, who would carry them back to the robot city, taking many hostages for unknown reasons. And so, the robot advance continued unabated, as they killed everything their eyes fell upon, burning, crushing, destroying, and blowing up, without respite or pity. They were the ultimate machine of destruction that Hitler had wanted to create within the Nazi army and its human members. But in the end, they were humans, and it is difficult to make them machines. But if he had had such machines, he would have easily conquered the world.
Keno headed toward Atlantis and had caught up with the teams heading to Atlantis from Mission 13. He ran with them, urging them to hurry, and told them that Atlantis was under attack. The soldiers were terrified by what they heard and quickened their pace toward Atlantis. They saw the fire and smoke rising to illuminate the sky. They quickened their pace and came out of the forest until they were on the outskirts of Atlantis. The sun had risen from the horizon and cast its threads on the ground, weaving them in breathtaking colors. Keno called Gladius's aide, his voice filled with overwhelming anger.
"Where are the damned supplies?!"
"They're above you, can't you see them?"
"Above me!"
Keno looked up, and the soldiers noticed his shout. They looked up and gasped in surprise. There were three people in the sky, falling one after another, wearing black cloaks that billowed from the air pressure, making them look as if they were flying. They landed one after another on top of the energy dome. One of them stepped forward and punched the dome beneath him with his hand, creating a large breach in it. They passed through it into the city and continued their way down again. Everyone expected them to use parachutes to descend, but they continued to free-fall without parachutes. As they got closer to landing, the soldiers were amazed and began to comment on what they were seeing.
Finally, Keno and the one hundred soldiers reached Atlantis and saw the destruction that had befallen it. It had become like a ruin, with fire rising from all its parts, and the robots on the horizon were falling, destroying, and killing everyone they saw. They charged quickly to the battlefield, with a mixture of fear and panic. After a few minutes, they were able to reach the center of the battle. They ambushed the robots from behind and began to fire at them, taking them down. Some of the robots noticed them and began to return fire. The soldiers took cover behind the rubble and continued to fire, taking down what they could of the huge robot army. Meanwhile, the three continued to descend to the ground. The soldiers saw them getting very close.
"What are they doing?" Keno said in amazement. "Why don't they open their parachutes? They're going to get themselves killed like this!"
The three landed on their feet, causing some destruction beneath them. Dust surrounded them from the impact until they were no longer visible. Those who saw them expected them to be dead, but they saw them emerge from the dust, safe and sound, untouched. The soldiers were amazed and stunned by what they saw, but they no longer distinguished between fiction and reality now; everything was mixed.
The seven were wearing black hoods, a head covering, and a silver, skull-like mask that completely covered their faces. They showed signs of wonder and power; they were not like the others around them. How could they have landed from this distance without getting a single scratch? And where did they come from? All these questions were running through the minds of everyone who saw the situation. Keno called Gladius's aide, his voice filled with emotion. "Who are these people?! And do you think that only three soldiers will take down an army of robots?! Are you kidding me?!"
Gladius's aide replied calmly and confidently, "These are the Enix. They are three soldiers, but they are not like any other soldiers. You will see this for yourself."
One of the soldiers said to Keno with skepticism and wonder, "Captain Keno, who is this you've been talking to for a while? And how did your appearance change like that?"
Keno looked at him without saying a word, then turned his gaze to the Enix. He saw them standing calmly, observing the situation. Suddenly, one of them moved slowly toward the robots, disappearing and reappearing in a strange way, as if there were a programming error in a video game.
Keno understood what Gladius meant. He saw that they had a power beyond their imagination.
The other two began to split up, and each one of them went to a different location.
Omar sat speechless, bewildered, not knowing what Minora meant by what she was saying. Things were mixed up for him. He said to her, wondering, "What do you mean we are in Atlantis?! Atlantis is our city... above... protected by a dome. We came from Atlantis... the city of humans... we are humans."
Minora was silent and surprised by him, as if she also did not understand what he was saying. She said, amazed by what he was saying, "You are from Atlantis... a city... what do you mean by a city?"
"A city... like the one you live in... a city."
Eyad interrupted him impatiently, "Our city... Atlantis... we live in it... after the robots destroyed our planet... planet Earth... where did you come from?"
Minora looked at the old man, who looked at her with suspicion and apprehension. The atmosphere became tense. The old man said in a trembling voice, "We are in Atlantis! Robots?! Do you mean Gaia's robots?"
Eyad was about to explode with anger, his chest tight, but Omar stopped him before he could say a word. Omar said, his patience with this strange conversation running out, "What do you mean by Atlantis? Is your city also called Atlantis?"
"Not our city, our planet is called Atlantis!"
Omar was silent, feeling that he was about to go mad. He felt that his whole world had been turned upside down, and ideas began to rush one after another; strange ideas that were about to drive him crazy. He felt his chest tighten as if his heart would be crushed inside him. He looked at Eyad, who was screaming at them with exaggerated indignation, his face red as if it were a boiling volcano. "Stop this nonsense! This is not planet Atlantis! This is planet Earth! If any of you speak this nonsense again, I will blow your heads off! You damned creatures, where did you come from? And are you the ones who made these damned robots that destroyed our planet? And now you want to convince us that this is your planet, and that it belongs to you after you have killed millions of humans and made these damned machines destroy us one after another? And now... and now you want to drive us crazy? Are these your damned plans to take control of our planet? Tell me, you accursed ones!"
All the Astral creatures fell silent, and a long silence prevailed. They exchanged glances among themselves with suspicion and doubt. The situation was completely confused. They felt that there was something of madness happening on this planet. They knew very well that it was their planet, but these creatures called humans had also come to them and were saying that it was their planet, and that Gaia's robots had killed millions of them and destroyed their planet. This is what had happened to them as well. Suddenly, an idea flashed in the old man's mind. He said, to calm the angry Eyad, "Tell me what happened to your planet."
And after Eyad had finished his story, the old man was silent for a moment. He ran his hand over his long white beard. Minora fidgeted with her scarf in confusion, and her features showed her bewilderment. Jarin was sitting on one of the wooden chairs, lost in deep thought. Meanwhile, the young boy sat looking at Omar and Eyad with the same usual look of hatred, but now it was mixed with confusion.
The old man took a deep breath, then said, "Do you know why your city was named Atlantis?"
Eyad thought for a moment, then said, "I don't know, but I know the legend of the ancient civilization of Atlantis. It is a legend that talks about an island in the sea where the humans on it had a great and very advanced civilization. But this island suddenly disappeared from existence, and there was no trace of it left. Some say it sank, and others say it never existed in the first place and that it was invented from imagination. Opinions differed, but some archaeologists have found some evidence that indicates that it did exist, but it remains one of the things that humans have not found an answer for. As for why you say it was named this, it is because they found ruins near this city of the ancient civilization of Atlantis, so they named it the same name."
The old man sighed after hearing this story, his eyes wide with astonishment. "My God," he said. "I think I understand now!"
Omar broke his silence. "What did you understand?"
The old man said, trying to hide the excitement that was evident on his old face, "First, I will tell you a story, and then I will explain what is happening. It may be a very crazy story; it may drive you mad if you are not ready for it. Are you ready?"
The two young men said at the same time, "Tell us now!"
