" He's not gonna wake up all of a sudden right?"

Kailen couldn't help but shudder.

He remembered when he was killed by the eel.

He knew even if the mountainous looking creature killed him, he'd respawn.

But he was not a masochist who appreciated and cherished the pain of dying.

Yes , he had died several times in the first simulation , but that didn't mean he appreciated the feeling.

" Forget it, no pain no gain"

Kailen threw these thoughts to the back of his mind.

Quickly , he moved towards the island.

After passing several trees, mountains and various regions sprawled with various beasts , Kailen finally arrived at the mountainous region where the mountainous looking creature was lying.

The creature was extremely black, with extremely ginormous legs, and arms.

It had an extremely round looking trunk.

It's head was elongated, like that of a giraffe.

It's eyes were like dark glowing marbles.

Where there should have been a nose, was a hole which shimmered with lightning whenever it breathed.

As Kailen drew nearer to the creature in person, he realized how massive the creature was.

If it were a landmass , it could have been an entire region where millions of people could stay.

Kailen literally felt like he was an ant standing before a landmass that stretched across entire horizons.

"There's no way this behemoth will pay any attention to an ant like me"

Kailen couldn't help but mutter underneath his breath.

Suddenly , it was as if the creature had responded in confirmation to his words.

He felt an entire sensation as if something had landed on him and was scanning him.

However the creature still slept.

But Kailen knew it was obvious that the creature had noticed his presence and didn't pay any attention to an ant like him!

"Is this what they call a protagonist's luck?"

The Time Dilation Artifact snorted at Kailen's stupid antics , and simply observed.

The young man moved , in his shadow armored form towards the creature.

Quickly , he hovered across a portion of the creature's round and extremely massive trunk!

Finally , he landed on the trunk, where if one were observing him from a distance, he'd look like a pebble!

Kailen had chosen a spot where the lightning fell on the creature consistently.

Finally , he heaved a sigh and sat down in a meditative posture.

Silence ensued, the creature snored, ignoring him.

Finally, the dark clouds looming above crackled with lightning.

szzzzzrttt..

Then…

booommm.

Lightning fell!

It fell across several areas of the creature's body, who made a sound of ecstasy , and went back to sleep.

Of course, the lightning had also landed on Kailen , but currently, where he was seated, there was no one there.

He had simply perished!

The lightning had been enough to kill him!

It was just a single strike!

A moment later, the young man appeared at the place again.

" What the hell? What sort of monster is this creature, being ecstatic, and still taking a nap when the lightning lands on its body?

I couldn't even withstand a single strike from this lightning?"

"But well, it's a rank 7 supreme stage galactic level lifeform, so technically , it's supposed to be more powerful, that obviously why it's taking a nap despite being bathed in this lightning, compared to me , who is literally an ant to this lightning and itself"

A glint of greediness and desire for strength flashed in Kailen's eyes

" But , that makes me all the more greedy to use this lightning to strengthen my physique and the potency of my lightning affinity"

The time dilation artifact , observing Kailen , nodded in satisfaction as she dropped a popcorn into her mouth.

" This kid is extremely ruthless to himself. Also, he's not stupid. He was actually able to figure out that he could use the lightning in this environment to not only strengthen his physique, but also increase the potency of lightning affinity"

Of course , she would let Kailen know she was complementing him, so she remained entirely silent about it.

Kailen , oblivious to the words of the time Dilation Artifact , deactivated his shadow armored form.

His shadow creatures took various meditative positions on various parts of the creature's trunk like he had done.

Even those without humanoid forms by nature had assumed humanoid forms and were now seated in a meditative posture.

Kailen wanted to strengthen their physical prowess too, and also strengthen the effect of the lightning affinity of those with lightning based affinities like Vengeful - who was currently reeling in excitement.

" Could have achieved the same effect for them in the shadow armored form as they would literally be covering me as I am pulverized by the lightning but I want to use my actual body for this, then after a while, I will make use of my Asura Enlightenment Physique.

If I utilize the shadow armored form, it will limit the effect of the lightning on my body, compared to when I use my actual body"

After this , Kailen remained seated in a lotus position, with the pale fair skin of his upper body and legs exposed. He was only covered in some short pants made of shadows.

The sky rumbled finally, and then , the lightning fell!

zzzt..

The moment it landed on Kailen, he couldn't even let out a screech for the pain he experienced before he turned into ashes and died.

Gritting his teeth after appearing again at the same spot, Kailen waited for the lighting.

crackle..

It fell on him again, and he perished.

Yet he reappeared, the lightning fell.

The same process repeated itself.

Over and over again.

Kailen could not even last a moment under the lightning the moment it fell on him.

He'd literally die and disappear, only to resume subjecting himself to the gruesome torture of the incident.

The pain he was subjecting himself to was excruciating.

His shadow creatures were shadow creatures, not made of flesh , so they had an advantage he didn't have. They could just disappear , and reappear without feeling pain.

Yes, they were sentient and had feelings, but they could not feel pain.

Kailen himself was different.

He could feel pain.

Apart from pushing forward towards the boundaries of strength for himself, there were people he had to protect , people he loved, people he couldn't afford to lose.

And for that, he needed strength.

So he persisted.

As the process went on for a consecutive amount of time he couldn't even count anymore , Kailen finally started experiencing some changes in his body.

Though he still couldn't last a moment under the lightning, his being, it felt more durable, and powerful.

It was as if from a cellular level, he was being smelted , he was being forged.

His skin now has this shiny electric luster to it.

Kailen gritted his teeth, and endured.
