The kill counts of Kailen kept increasing by the second, his credits so staggering that his society members, other society presidents, and the empirewide audience staring at the individual rankings couldn't help but be extremely shocked.
On the society rankings, the gap between the Sword Tribunal Society and the other societies kept increasing by the minute.
The most ridiculous aspect of the whole situation was that it all occurred in an extremely quick moment.
What took other societies several days to achieve had taken Kailen Darkhaven just a moment to accomplish.
Instead of reasoning that there was a cause behind Kailen's sudden dominance — that his overwhelming strength explained it — the presidents of the other societies were rather fueled by hatred and personal interest to get rid of him. Their stupidity, which clouded their judgment, shocked the audience.
To the society presidents, he was a distraction that had to be eliminated before they could focus on competing with one another.
Ethan, watching the society wars from his apartment with his new girlfriend, couldn't help but heave a large sigh of relief for making the right call concerning Kailen Darkhaven.
After the way Kailen ended Vesper Locke, he had his suspicions that Kailen was a Black Flask.
And when the news about Enna Harker came out, the thought crossed his mind that Kailen could have been the probable cause of her death — if he was a Black Flask, considering the beef between him and the Harkers.
However, he could not conclude on anything at that moment.
But seeing this, he was certain of it.
Kailen Darkhaven was a Black Flask, and was the one who killed Enna Harker. Even a fool could connect the dots.
But how was he able to escape academy scrutiny?
There was only one reason — one that many of his enemies had failed to notice or had brushed off. Kailen had a terrifying backing. One so powerful that it could bypass the surveillance system of the academy AI.
"It's a good thing I made the right call. If I had listened to that senseless old pile of crap, I couldn't even begin to fathom what kind of state I'd be in right now."
Ethan felt relieved that he had made the right call.

"So, he decided to make a move, huh?" Zarek couldn't help but chuckle lightly, then shook his head helplessly. "Black Flasks are really anomalies. But even if he's a Black Flask, this guy is on another level.
It was one thing finding out he killed Enna Harker from Everlong, but the fact that he's climbed to the top of the rankings at such a ridiculous pace is something else entirely."
He snapped out of his inner musings, gaze directed towards his society members.
"Let's meet up with his society members. In about six hours, we'll be there. About time to get rid of those snobbish bastards."
"Yes, sir!"
His society members responded, following his lead.

Several hours later.
The members of the Sword Tribunal Society and the Atrexia Society finally met up in an icy region after traversing various parts of the secret realm.
Right when that happened, Kailen made use of Umbral Replacement to make an appearance.
"And the Black Flask graces us with his graceful presence," Zarek said on seeing Kailen, performing a theatrical bow that lightened the atmosphere and caused several light-hearted chuckles to echo through the environs.
"How you guys holding up man?" Kailen asked as he approached Zarek, his gaze snapping towards several of Zarek's members.
Zarek said, "Frankly, we managed to hold. We didn't lose a single member. It was as if some invisible hand was helping us evade the traps of the secret realm."
Kailen acted as if he had nothing to do with it.
Everlong's eyes widened. "We too!"
Everyone felt like something was off.
This was too abnormal to be a coincidence.
At first, Kailen's society members and the Atrexia Society members each thought they were simply fortunate not to have come across any traps in the secret realm. But now that it had happened to both societies, there was definitely something off here.
Lian Yu turned to look at Kailen, after which everyone got the gist of his gesture — their eyes widening in shock.
"Don't tell me…"
"Kailen, did you have something to do with our luck?" Miranda couldn't help but ask the question on everyone's minds. All gazes turned toward Kailen.
Everyone knew the thought of Kailen having something to do with their ability to evade traps was inconceivable — however, with the crazy shit this dude had been pulling, who could blame them for entertaining the possibility?
As for the empirewide spectators, they were having the time of their life at this interaction.
Kailen simply shrugged his shoulders. "Hey, just a regular dude here."
However, this gave them all the response they needed.
"You know what, I won't even ask how you pulled it off because that's just the way you are. If I don't psyche myself up that everything about you doesn't make sense, I'm gonna get an emotional breakdown one day."
Esimo shook his head and sighed — a comment that Arrie and several of his loved ones watching the society wars couldn't help but chuckle at.
Before someone could make another comment, Zarek interrupted.
"Ahem, how about we all focus on what's next?"
The 400 Atrexia Society members and the members of the Sword Tribunal Society regained their serious demeanors after his words.
"I will handle the presidents of the other societies according to the plan. Everyone else should focus on the members of the other societies."
He turned towards Zarek. "Cool by you?"
Zarek gestured with his hand relaxedly, giving Kailen a knowing look.
"Yeah, that's the ideal thing to do. It's meaningless for me to involve myself when you are more than enough to handle them. As a matter of fact, I'd just delay their deaths and get in your way."
Zarek continued, unbothered about Kailen being stronger than him. He was just stating facts.
"I'll help the others deal with their society members as planned."
The leaders of the Atrexia and Sword Tribunal societies agreed with Zarek.
This was the most effective plan.
Kailen had managed to kill a rank 1 beginner-stage galactic-level lifeform — so killing a few society presidents would definitely be a walk in the park for him.
Kailen nodded. Sensible and pragmatic people like Zarek were easy to work with.
"Alright… they're here in 5… 4… 3… 2…"
