Lydia and Pete returned to Earth after having learned a lot from their daughters and Maya's parents about the world Sophia and Steph were now living in. They also found out about the quirks of magic, including what having a lot of it inside your body does to you. The concept of being ageless was the drop that pushed the two over the edge of completely frying their brain, and the couple needed a break to regain their sanity and think about a lot of things.
"Mom and Dad asked if your parents are doing fine, by the way." A few days had passed since the sisters' parents came to visit when Maya looked at Sophia.
"They, uhh… recovered from the initial shock and info dump to some degree." The tiger awkwardly scratched her cheek. "Theo and Eve were lovely, but Steph and I overdid it with the revelations towards the end."
"I am not surprised that our beloved sisters had trouble holding back." The cat-girl smirked at her.
"Hey!" She glared at her. "It's true, but this time, it was on purpose! Steph and I decided that we wouldn't be holding back from telling them everything. Contrary to me, who didn't have a choice, and Steph, who acted on instinct alone, we want our parents to make an informed decision on coming here or not."
"Did you need to tell them everything at once, though?"
"Well, it's not like smaller mind breaks over a span of a few weeks would be any less damaging." Sophia shrugged. "Also, their opinion on the matter would probably change multiple times over the course of learning everything, which would make things even more confusing."
"I guess that's fair."
"Also, we're a bit pressed for time." The blonde got a little more serious.
"Huh? Maya felt like she had missed something. "Is something happening?"
"Sari." Her reply was relatively short.
"Yes?" The cat-girl got only more confused.
"They can't go back and forth between worlds with her during her most impressionable phase. She already had a slight grasp of her surroundings from what I had seen the other day. She's also starting to understand simple conversations because her reactions, most of the time, were adequate for what was going on. I mean, she's not understanding the words quite yet, but she knows when she's involved based on the intonation and stuff. I bet her first actual words are only weeks away. She's already super babbly, after all. From there, things will speed up dramatically."
"Growing up in two worlds would confuse her?"
"Very much so." The tiger reacted with a big nod. "Our worlds are quite different, so she couldn't learn or understand what is right and what is wrong. Trying to learn both sides at the same time will only lead to making her confused most of the time, and in the worst case, it might even stunt her development. If my parents want to decide on a world, they need to do it in the next few months before Sari starts to actively observe her surroundings and try to understand what she's seeing. I mean, look at Ellie, she's only three years older, so it's not hard to see just how important those coming few years are going to be for Sari."
"Wow, that makes so much sense!" She could clearly see the issue. "Also, gosh, you get even more attractive when you think things through and make plans while cleverly taking so many variables and details into consideration!"
"Ehehe~." Sophia enjoyed the praise.
"You definitely should do that more often~." The cat's expression turned into a smirk.
"Nah, I have to ration it." She shook her head. "If you get any more attracted to me, we're never going to leave the bedroom ever again."
"Fair." Maya didn't even try to say anything in her defense.
"Anyway, completely unrelated to that, now that Ellie came up when talking about Sari, are you ready to visit her?" Sophia changed the topic.
"Always!" She nodded. "I wonder why she asked us to come over today."
"Why do you think she has a reason other than having us there?" The tiger tilted her head. "I can see her wanting us to teach her more magic, though."
"Good point!"
"Alright, let's not keep her waiting!"
"Let's go!"

Having put the parent topic on hold for the time being, the couple went to the royal castle in the capital to meet their favorite little tiger. There, the two also ran into Anna and Ari.
"Oh, I didn't know you were also here today!" The jaguar was surprised to see them.
"Hey~." The tigers just waved at each other.
"Same!" Maya was just as surprised. The girls apparently hadn't known about each other's plans. "Were you also invited by Ellie, or did you meet the parents?"
"Mostly Ellie, though we weren't exactly invited by her." Ari shrugged. "Ellie asked me to choose a new cute dress for her. It has gotten rather warm lately, and her summer dress from last year wasn't fitting her any longer."
"Ohhh!" Sophia excitedly clapped her hands. "I can't wait to see her!"
"I don't usually praise myself, but I really outdid myself this time!" The jaguar gave the blonde a thumbs-up. "She looks even more adorable than usual!"
"Awesome!" She liked the sound of that. "Speaking of, it makes sense that her clothes from last year don't fit anymore because children her age grow a lot. Though, she's having a crazy growth spurt at the moment, isn't she? She feels noticeably taller every week I see her."
"That's true." Ari agreed with her. "Her hair has gotten darker and less curly again, too, so it's a complete makeover~."
"From what Mother told me, I was the same at her age." Anna nodded a few times. "I apparently began getting taller than the other girls at around the same age. She also mentioned that it was the same for herself, as well."
"Well, she always was on the taller side for her age, but now the tiger genes seem to be fully kicking in, huh?" Sophia glanced at the tall princess. "Short Ellie is adorable, but tall Ellie will be adorable, too! All Ellie versions are adorable!" She wasn't overly bothered by it.
"I'm not sure if height is related to tiger genes." Anna glanced at the shorter tiger.
"…" She didn't feel like reacting to that.
"Speaking of tiger genes, why is your hair still so light and wavy?" The princess looked at Sophia's hair before gesturing at her own. It had turned into a vibrant, darker orange once more, while it had become smooth enough to be worn in a single ponytail again. At the same time, Sophia's hair had become wavier than ever, while the light blonde color was closer to Maya's white rather than her orange.
"Because I think it looks good on me!" Sophia smiled at her fellow tiger.
"It definitely does." She nodded in return. "The style suits you perfectly, but is that how it works?" The princess then looked at Ari while tilting her head. "You can't really influence the natural change of your body because you want to, right?"
"In theory, you'd be correct." The jaguar scratched her cheek. "On the other hand, we're talking about Sophia here, and that wouldn't be, by far, the weirdest thing she willed into existence."
"Ah, true enough." Anna didn't question her explanation even a little.
"Ellie time!" Not wanting to wait even longer to see her favorite tiger, especially at this very moment, Sophia energetically raised her arm and began walking towards the castle's back garden, where she spotted the little princess with the help of her detection magic.

"So…phia! Maya!" Once the girls arrived there, the couple was immediately greeted by the little princess.
"Woah, you're adorable! Even more than usual!" Sophia was immediately taken by Ellie's new look. The little girl was wearing a pleated and arm-free white one-piece dress with a sailor-like black collar, as well as a black accent stripe around her waist and at the hem of her dress. It was combined with black shoes and frilly white socks, as well as a red bow under the collar and one on her tail close to the tip. Her hair had turned into a slightly darker and much more vibrant orange, as well. It also got a lot less wavy than it used to be, but at the same time, it looked wilder than ever. She was an active girl, after all.
"Really?" The girl in question happily pointed at herself with both arms while showing them a massive smile.
"The adorablest!" Maya had to agree with the blonde.
"Yay~!" It was all the little princess wanted to hear.
"You really have the best taste for clothes." Sophia gave the jaguar a thumbs-up. "You did such a great job there!"
"Yes, Ari is the bestest!" She did a little twirl while smiling even more broadly. "Ellie loves her new clothes!"
"Ehehe~." The jaguar got a little bashful.
"A cute dress for a cute girl is always a win for everyone around." Sophia praised the little princess even more.
"If that's the case, we should get you a dress, too." Ari switched from shy to flirty in an instant as she showed the blonde a playful smirk.
"True!" Instead of arguing, Anna and Maya simply agreed because it was true.
"As long as it's cute, I'm not against that, you know?" Sophia tilted her head, not seeing the issue here. "As long as you don't make me wear it when scaling a mountain we're exploring or something like that."
"Shopping trip?!" The jaguar instantly looked at the tall tiger and cat-girl.
"Shopping trip!" They liked the plan.
"Anyway," Sophia ignored them and got closer to Ellie. "Not only are you the adorablest, but you're also having a growth spurt." In front of her, the blonde knelt down to get to her line of sight. "If you continue like that, you'll be taller than me in no time!"
"Ellie will be the adorablest and tallest!"
"Tall girls are often considered cool, you know?"
"Ellie will be the adorablest and tallest and coolest!" She had no issues with extra adjectives.
"Well, you already are two of them, so it will be really easy for you." Smiling, Sophia got up again and ruffled Ellie's hair on top of her head.
"Yay~!"
"By the way, why did you invite us today?" The blonde tiger remembered the reason for their visit.
"We'd like to know that, too." Kira suddenly joined the conversation. She and Menzor had been sitting on the veranda next to them the entire time, but no one had paid attention to them yet. "Also, hello."
"Oh, hi!" Sophia actually hadn't noticed them until now because she had been too distracted by Ellie's cuteness.
"It seems like she wants to show us something." Menzor was also curious.
"Yes!" The little princess nodded. "Ellie has been super training magic lately, and Ellie wants to show everyone how good she's got at it!"
"Ohh!" Everyone expectantly clapped their hands in return.
Getting ready for the show, Sophia and the other girls joined Kira and Menzor on the veranda and waited for Ellie to get ready to present her progress with magic.
