Carlotta's Daily Report

Chapter 205: 'Did I really kill him so easily?'

After clearing out the numerous alchemical artifacts in the warehouse that had been corroded by time, the group continued onward.

This warehouse wasn't the only one, beyond this warehouse lay yet another warehouse.

The second warehouse held various alchemical materials. However, due to the erosion of time, most of these materials have been nearly depleted, with barely any spiritual essence remaining in each sample, rendering them completely unusable for further alchemical crafting.

Still, the group still divided up the remaining materials before entering the third warehouse.

The moment they stepped into the third warehouse, everyone was stunned.

This warehouse was equally vast, yet it held none of the miscellaneous clutter, instead, it contained only one enormous object that immediately captured their attention.

It was an alchemical airship!

A massive alchemical airship, seemingly forged entirely from gold. Even after being worn by time, it still emitted a dazzling golden glow.

"W-what... what is this?"

Doll's voice trembled slightly.

"Is this... an alchemical creation?"

Azure Fox's voice also wavered.

There was a vast difference between alchemical creations, some held little value, while others were capable of driving even Weavers to madness.

When such an alchemical airship appeared before them, the expressions of everyone present shifted instantly. Glances exchanged between them grew sharper, filled with subtle scrutiny and caution.

Naturally, due to their respective team constraints, their primary vigilance remained directed toward the opposing team.

For a moment, the atmosphere became tense.

"Why don't we all go inside and take a look?"

The Golden Lion spoke first, breaking the silence.

"Agreed."

White Goat nodded.

The others voiced no objections either. Although the alchemical airship seemed highly unusual, until its value and ownership were confirmed, they wouldn't immediately resort to violence.

The group circled around the airship and discovered a door. They opened it together and stepped inside.

It had to be admitted, this alchemical airship was incredibly complex. Once inside, faced with the myriad of buttons and mechanisms, everyone felt completely lost, having no idea how to operate it.

Of course, none of them dared to press anything randomly, for fear of activating something dangerous.

The airship was quite spacious, so they spent some time exploring its interior, gradually gaining a rough understanding of it.

'It's just like an alchemical ship, it needs to be claimed. Once mentioned, the operation will become clear. The problem is... how do we claim it?'

Carlotta pondered secretly.

She had already tried a few subtle methods, yet still failed to establish ownership over the airship.

She believed the others must have tried something as well, but judging from their expressions, no one had succeeded.

The intelligence map only mentioned the existence of an alchemical airship here, but gave no clue on how to obtain it, this was troubling.

Should they wait until tomorrow's intelligence update? But even tomorrow's intelligence might not mention the method of controlling this airship. And could they afford to wait that long?

Carlotta swept her gaze across the group and said, "An alchemical creation of such noble origin clearly isn't easy to control. Among us, perhaps only Lady Selena could possibly control it, since she can see the future."

At her words, several ambiguous glances fell upon Selena.

Selena replied calmly, "I cannot control it either."

"Who knows? You can see the future, perhaps you've already established an initial connection with this alchemical artifact?"

Azure Fox also began suspecting Selena.

With such a prestigious alchemical airship, no one wanted to see someone else claim it.

Unlike the items from the previous warehouses, this airship couldn't be easily divided, everyone desired to possess it, yet no one could rightfully claim it alone.

"Even if Lady Selena truly obtained this airship, it would be perfectly justified. After all, she has the ability."

Big Mountain said gravely.

"I think we should dismantle this alchemical artifact and divide the materials equally."

Azure Fox proposed.

But this suggestion was immediately met with strong opposition. Compared to dismantled alchemical materials, an intact airship was undoubtedly far more valuable.

Opposition came not only from the other team, but also from members within their own team.

Azure Fox irritated. "If we don't dismantle and divide it, tell me, how exactly do you propose we claim this airship?"

He changed at Night Cat, then at White Goat, both of whom had just voiced opposition.

This question leaves the two momentarily silent.

"Then we'll just have to fight for it."

Carlotta said bluntly.

"So direct?"

Guy turned to look at her.

"Rather than remain deadlocked here wasting time, we might as well act directly."

Carlotta whispered.

At this point, the two teams had already separated into their respective groups, speaking quietly among themselves, so Carlotta's words wouldn't be overheard by the opposing team.

She continued, "They're discussing among themselves too. Guess what they're talking about? Perhaps they're preparing to move against us?"

Hearing Carlotta's words, the group immediately became wary.

They weren't certain whether the opposing team would attack, but they had to be prepared.

Carlotta continued, "I believe our side holds greater strength. Once we eliminate them, we can naturally co-own this alchemical airship and study it together."

Night Cat glanced at Carlotta. "Miss Rose, your aggression seems rather strong."

"Are you saying you don't want to act? Do you think they'll reconcile harmoniously?"

Carlotta countered.

Of course her aggression had to be strong, if she could seize this opportunity to eliminate Achilles and Selena, she wouldn't miss it.

However, the Night Cat's position was somewhat delicate. As a fellow beastkin, she shared a close relationship with Golden Lion, Priest Rodrigo, on the opposing team. Although currently on different teams, they likely maintain some contact, meaning Night Cat might not fight wholeheartedly.

"I think we should act."

Azure Fox voiced his opinion.

Mainly because he had long suspected Carlotta was from the Mechanical Fortress, probably highly skilled in alchemy. If she could study the airship, it would benefit the entire team.

White Goat asked, "Lord Guy, what do you think?"

Within their team, the person outwardly the strongest was the one pretending to be Guy Nicholson. Naturally, White Goat sought Guy's opinion.

Guy answered bluntly, "Let's move. I've always felt the other side has ill intentions. If we don't act, they certainly will."

Even though both sides had recently been cooperating, such alliances were far too fragile in the face of true interest.

It could even be said that without the existence of the Absolute Contract, their team might have already fallen apart, facing, their relationships with each other weren't reliable at all.

The opposing team likely also had some form of binding method.

Since Guy had already made his stance clear, White Goat naturally had no further objections.

Night Cat also didn't dare say much more.

With a quick exchange of glances, the five of them walked toward the other side.

On the surface, White Goat even wore a gentle smile, "Friends, I've thought of a way to divide the spoils completely."

The other five also approached.

"What method is that? If we can resolve this peacefully, that'd be wonderful, we aren't people who enjoy fighting and bloodshed."

The Golden Lion wore a smile.

"Exactly. Harmony should always come first."

Azure Fox also smiled.

"Meeting is fate. Fighting really isn't ideal."

Doll gave a slight smile.

As both sides spoke, they drew closer, all wearing smiles and appearing amiable, as if they were ready to continue a friendly conversation.

But the moment the distance between them closed to a certain point, someone suddenly attacked.

On Carlotta's side, except for Night Cat whose movement lagged slightly, the other four instantly launched attacks without mercy, striking the opponents head-on.

And almost simultaneously, the five on the opposing side also launched their attacks, various offensive techniques blasting towards them.

"Boom!"

In the center between the ten fighters, a violent explosion erupted. Blinding light instantly illuminates the entire area, turning it deathly white.

A fierce shockwave surged outward, forcing everyone to retreat. Shocked expressions appeared on their faces.

"Such a peaceful method? Is this what you call a peaceful solution?"

The Golden Lion spoke coldly.

White Goat cursed, "Damn it, is this what you mean by not liking to fight?"

"Hmph, who's the one pretending to seek harmony now?"

Big Mountain scowled.

"Meeting is fate? Who said that?"

Azure Fox also wore a dark expression.

While exchanging angry words, both sides attacked again. Since the fighting had already begun, there was no room left for reconciliation.

The five from each side immediately charged at their respective opponents.

Carlotta deliberately chose her target, rushing straight at Achilles, her eyes flashing with killing intent.

Images from the past surged uncontrollably in her mind. Because of him, she had been forced to flee the Wendell Empire and become a so-called criminal.

He had even sent assassins to pursue her, threatening her life all the way south.

This grudge could never be settled, there had to be an ending!

Carlotta closed in and kicked. Her leg clashed with the rapier that had appeared in Achilles' hand, sending rolling shockwaves outward.

Seeing that the two had engaged, the others naturally found their own opponents.

Guy and Golden Lion, each considered the strongest in their respective teams, inevitably clashed with massive force, shaking the underground chamber and causing magic energy to boil violently.

Azure Fox faced off against Doll, White Goat against Big Mountain, and Night Cat against Selena.

Five separate battlefields formed as the fighting raged.

At this point, there was no need to hold back. Filled with killing intent, Carlotta decisively unleashed War Goddess upon Achilles.

Around her, multiple armored versions of herself suddenly appeared, charging alongside her.

From the moment these armored selves emerged to when they attacked Achilles, only an instant passed in the real world, but for Achilles, it wasn't so simple.

In that split second, Achilles realized he was standing in a battlefield without boundaries, millions of soldiers charging towards him. Although individually not powerful, they were endless, like a flood, just seeing them made one's heart tremble.

Achilles roared and could only fight his way out.

In the outside world, only an instant had passed, yet Carlotta had already reached Achilles' front and slashed across him.

The next moment, a paper doll appeared on Achilles' body, taking on his form before being torn apart.

"Huh?"

Carlotta, having delivered her strike, looked back at Achilles.

Achilles now showed intense exhaustion, the weariness of having fought continuously on the battlefield for decades. He leaned on his rapier planted into the ground, barely keeping himself upright, his face pale.

Just now, he had died once. If not for a crucial treasure he once obtained, one that could take his death in his place, he would have perished.

Achilles never expected Carlotta could unleash such a bizarre and terrifying attack. In just one exchange, she had brought him so close to death.

"Save me!"

Achilles shouted.

He knew he was no match for Carlotta. That life-saving ability could only be used once, should Carlotta attack with the same technique again, he wouldn't survive.

But upon hearing Achilles' cry for help, the others only glanced over, eyes filled with confusion, and made no move to assist.

To them, the battle had only just begun, why was Achilles already calling for help?

How could a powerful viscount from the Wendell Empire be so fragile?

Since the War Goddess attacked on the spiritual plane, everything was silent and invisible. Naturally, the others couldn't perceive anything amiss.

"You escaped once, did you think you could escape a second time?"

Carlotta charged again.

Around her, once more appeared countless armored versions of herself, rushing alongside her toward Achilles.

In an instant in the real world, Achilles once again experienced who knew how many years.

But this time, there will be no more miracles.

Carlotta flashed past, and in one stroke, split Achilles' entire body in half, both halves collapsing to the ground.

At that moment, even Carlotta felt a brief daze.

'Did I really kill Achilles so easily?'

Carlotta fell silent for a moment, but not for long, then let out a sigh.

To her past self, Achilles had indeed been a terrifying enemy, one of the Weaver-level, towering high above, someone she could only look up to.

But her growth had been too rapid. Although she herself hadn't yet reached the Weaver level, she now possessed the power to kill a Weaver. Achieving this wasn't entirely unexpected.

"All that's happened in the past will ultimately be crushed beneath my feet."

Carlotta whispered softly.
