The familiar trace of reality was laced all over the veil. It was similar to a Chaos World's outer surface, a membrane that covered its material contents. Often times, the only thing between existence and total annihilation.
Being experienced in safely entering Chaos Worlds, Da Hai pushed against it. Yet instead of passing through, he felt reality in the other side offer resistance.
"That's odd." He rubbed his fingers. It was soft to touch, yet was resistant to tear. He rubbed his Dao fruit against it, yet didn't risk any further force.
Chaos Worlds may be a common sight, but they weren't without their uniqueness. Who knew what Da Hai had stumbled upon.
After two minutes, Da Hai pushed harder. His skin obtained a wet scaly texture from his excretion. His presence as an immortal cultivator began pulsating as a result.
"Hm?"
Da Hai felt the resistance loosen. The outer membrane rippled, then began parting. To the innate god, it was utterly bizarre. Normally, he should just push through with fanfare. It wasn't like a Heavenly Dao of an ordinary Chaos World could stop him.
It was bright on the other side. Warm and dazzling with a hint of heavenly song, it was almost inviting. It only caused Da Hai to narrow his eyes.
"Greetings," He called out with all the dignity of a refined immortal. "My name is Da Hai, Yurlunggur sponsored me."
Heavenly Daos, as he'd come to learn, were typically little more than masses of instinct formed from the base Dao Laws that make up a Chaos World. They were wholly unlike the Heavenly Dao of the Three Realms, which was a living breathing entity.
Since this Chaos World was so strange, Da Hai concluded a powerful cultivator must've created it, and maintained it. Given who the rainbow serpent said was living here. "I am looking for the one named Zagreus."
There was no reply at first. But the soft hymns grew louder, more refined and elegant. The light dimmed slightly, revealing a world of pure light. Its rays spiraled out into the Chaos Sea, completely unbothered by the Chaotic energies outside.
Da Hai's hands tensed. His blond hair began waving about, but had yet to transform. "Who…"
Then he was enveloped
…
Xin Long Chen was a city floating about on the outskirts of the Ocean world that the Primordial Celestial Dragon clan called home. It was also the home of countless dragon descendent races who frequented the trichiliocosm.
Acting as a harbour for the outside world, it was vastly cosmopolitan. Something that could not be said about the Ocean world proper.
Along the streets, visiting sects, clans, and lone travellers glanced at a descending boat bearing the seal of the Heavenly Court's Jade Lake. Even the bravest of Immortals did not dare to cause trouble as a result.
At the end of the day, most people were either True Immortals or below. Good enough to travel across the stars, not enough to matter.
"Good of you to make it my lady." A handsome man in a colourful official's attire bowed in greeting to a veiled woman. She had stepped off the small immortal boat, followed by several attendants.
It drew the curiosity of passerbys who couldn't identify which distinguished guess had come. The official was a renowned expert after all, the elder who was in charge of Xin Long Chen. Someone who controlled who entered, or exited the world of dragons.
"It is good to see you Hong, how is Ni?"
"Sleeping. We take shifts," Hong said. His long hair did not hide the angular horns resting on his head. Though restrained, this was a genuine dragon race powerhouse from the primordial era.
"Has the Jade Emperor treated you well? I know you didn't have…"
"Well enough," the woman interrupted him. "His majesty is often too busy these days. But let's not dawdle . I've come to see my senior brother."
The ocean world was exactly that, a world made of water. Among the many worlds in the surrounding chiliocosm, it was the most unique. No mantle, crust, nor continents, just a few floating chunks of land to serve as private residences.

Among the deepest layer of water, a place where no light penetrated. A titanic gate rested, cutting off the ocean into two layers of reality. Outside of it, multiple dragon lords acted as guardians.
Their true forms were enormous, kilometres in length. They were unlike the rare dragons who'd visit the Heavenly Court, or wander the trichiliocosm. Their cultivation sat at the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm, what older experts from the late primordial era called Saint to Be.
It wowed the celestial attendants who came with the veiled woman. Simultaneously, it caused them to rethink the dragon race as a whole.
It was known they were ancient overlords of the Three Realms, who had since declined. The Four Sea Dragon Kings serviced the gods of the court and rarely appeared.
Their fighting force was thought to have decreased until they were a minor faction at best, only left alone by the Jade Emperor's laws and the respect the ancients had for them.
"You lot can go wander the nearby village. Get to know the locals," the veiled woman commanded.
"But my lady…"
"That is an order. I don't care what the Queen Mother instructed you, you cannot go beyond this point."
"We…are you sure?"
"The dragon race are part of the court, its kings are gods alongside us. Do not concern yourselves," she said.
She entered the gate as if she wasn't also a foreigner. The dragons guarding the gate didn't bother stopping her, only glaring at the celestial attendants.
Once through, she entered the deep ocean. It has been over a hundred thousand years since she last visited. But the deep ocean had not changed.
The lone landmass in the centre appeared one to one with Yingzhou. The archaic land of immortals worshipped by sea creatures in olden times. This was a mere replica that held none of Yingzhou's majesty.
Upon its mountains, a dragon lay sleeping. Yellow in colour, with large feathering wings folded beside his back. He only opened one eye as the woman landed beside his head.
"Ah at last," she sighed as she tore off her veil. It revealed the mesmerizing face of Yi Fei'e, known more commonly in the court as Jiutian Xuannu. Worshipped across parts of the world as the goddess of war, womanhood, and sexuality.
"You would not believe how uptight the culture outside has become. Woman are expected to cover our faces now, else hissy fits would be through. Can you believe it?" She complained.
"You said the same thing the last five times I saw you," Yinglong grumbled out. "What a surprise visit. How have you been junior sister."
"Busy."
"Is that so? My son tells me the only thing you do is selling those love manuels. Haotian doesn't assign jobs for certain gods, chief among them being you." The archaic dragon had a good laugh at the freeloader's embarrassment.
"You sure raised a busy body. Then again, that's what a lifetime of being management gets you." She sat down beside Yinglong, dissipated her celestial attire for a simple dress.
Gone was the ribbon, the uniform, and the posture of a deity. Present was Phoenix, who was once an insect taught alongside dragons, below the seat of a serpent.
"Something's up with Haotian," she said with seriousness.
There was not much affection in her tone. Haotian was not Da Hai after all. Despite his origins as a clone, she didn't recognize her master. And clearly, he didn't return any warmth.
"Something's always up with that guy." There was not much fondness in Yinglong either. Only a respect held by fellow rulers. He would never forget the day he signed his descendants away to Haotian's dominion.
Till date, Yinglong has only met him once. Even if he were invited to peach banquets, or martial tournaments, he'd ignore them and let Ao Guang represent him instead. But he did keep watch over the trichiliocosm through his divine sense.
"No I mean…he got rid of his baits. All of them," Yi Fei'e said. "I'm speaking of the people he purposefully let slip whenever he does a security cleansing."
"Oh? The ones he allows to draw would be revolutionaries? About time I'd say. You can't have the same face in these organizations too many times before suspicion occurs."
"Not to this degree. He's rapidly cleaning house in the trichiliocosm. He's got the Stellar Department, Thunder Department, and Plague Department running ragged. Celestial soldiers are being sent everywhere in the Heavenly Realm. Something's triggered him."
Yi Fei'e took a deep breath before continuing. "What's more…actually senior brother, this'll be easier if I ask in case you were sleeping. Did you happen to see his latest battle?"
"Yes," Yinglong replied. "Against the that old monster who single handily slew three great devils who attempted to cross through several yuanhui back."
"Haotian should not be struggled that much against him. Even at his apex, I won't say the sword Saint surpasses Great Principle Chaos Immortals."
"He could certainly give Ni Hong a run for their money. But I understand what you mean. Yet why would Haotian hold back?"
"That's the thing, he wasn't. Haotian has never held back when commanding as the Jade Emperor. He'd wantonly use master's cultivation to bully, and suppress the cultivation world for eons.
"Haotian is the type of man who wants to be feared by those below him, and respected by those contemporary to him. Master's cultivation base as a Limitless Supreme Chaos Immortal was never held back in this endeavour. It's how he bested the Eastern Emperor all those years back."
The current ancestral dragon closed his eyes in thought after listening to the goddess' words. His body began shaking as he pondered. To Yi Fei'e, he could be angry or even excited.
"Haotian was never a cultivator."
"No. He's merely someone wearing master's cultivation."
"Hm. Thinking about the mechanisms of a clone." Yinglong slowly lifted his massive head and shifted his resting body into a coil.
"There's something big he's not telling us."
…
Through the world of light, Da Hai looked back at the reality before him. There was no protrusion anymore. There was no sign of ever changing chaotic energies.
An orderly bright universe enveloped his being. A world of white light and fluffy clouds. In the words of man, this was heaven above the clouds.
'It enveloped me.' Da Hai turned back after some surprise. Moments prior, the Chaos World suddenly surged outwards to occupy where Da Hai was examining its outer shell.
In this way, it effectively swallowed both Da Hai and the surrounding Chaos Sea. An unattractive act closer to a lifeform then a universe.
"Who's so audacious? Come out and speak!" Da Hai demanded. His pride having been hurt by the suddenness of the act.
The song from before sang again. Though it was not intelligible, Da Hai could feel an intent behind it. In his mind, he worked to translate it.
At his Dao's realm, not many cosmic concepts could be beyond his analysis. To not be instantly understood meant the other was an advanced being.
"Mine?" Da Hai murmured with confusion. He felt reality swirl around him. Clouds collapsing towards him.
Around him, ethereal energy akin to the true qi of the Three Realms triggered lighting to curve around. One of them narrowly passed Da Hai.
The ferocious song sang more sinisterly. The words 'mine', 'me', 'I decide', 'my loom', was understood by Da Hai.
Raising a hand, Da Hai slapped away the electricity. This caused a humongous arc of energy to spread out amongst the clouds.
"I will ask again…"
Beams of fire surged out from nothingness. The song turned into screeches. Then like strings, those beams of fire approached Da Hai as if they were ropes trying to bind him.
'Something similar to karmic fire?'
"Break for me!" Da Hai's Dao surged as well, allow its influence to rapidly tear into the universe to erode its logic. Each spiral of its spin grinded away at the fiery strings, turning them into gaseous wastes.
A blade of water appeared in Da Hai's hand. In five slashes, he eroded world of cloud, almost transforming it into an endless ocean.
A deafening screech erupted in response. A heavy pressure pressed upon Da Hai. In the sea of clouds, mass solidified into a shape.
Like a trinity, three triangles that were bound to each other by their tips. The sea of clouds darkened in its wake. The natural true qi esque energy morphed under its command.
"Mmmmoooooo!!!"
Under the influence of the trinity triangles, a titanic white bull manifested. Its horns were electrifying, its nostrils emanated auspicious clouds. In shape, it was a divine beast of cosmic proportions.
"MMMMMOOOOOO!!!"
