Hero or Villain, Both

Chapter 250: The ending was…

It was a fierce fight in the end and neither side seemed like they would back down.

With each blow that happened, it was as if everyone that was watching was about to be blown away.

That was just how powerful each of their blows were.

But in the end, it seemed like most of the damage to the surrounding area was mitigated.

That was because each time it seemed like the attacks were about to hit the surrounding area, the hero would tilt the attack so that it would land in a place where there was nothing there.

It seemed like the hero was doing his best to ensure that there were minimal casualties.

However, this meant that it was much harder for him to keep this battle going.

Since the hero had to use extra effort to make sure that the attacks didn't hurt anyone, it meant that he was using more energy than the demon king. If it came down to a battle of endurance, it was only a matter of time before the hero ran out of energy.

The only thing that could help the hero now was his companions, but it didn't seem like they were having a good time with the demons.

The ones from the city were too scared to fight, which meant that they were facing the demons all on their own. It was already a good sign that they were able to stop the demons from swarming the hero.

But it didn't seem like they would be able to push back the demons to actually help the hero.

Even Aragon wasn't able to do anything to help as he was being stalled by the dark elf.

Whenever he tried to shoot the demon king, the dark elf would always appear with her dark mist and obscure his vision. No matter how he tried, there would always be dark mist that would stop him from taking proper aim.

When he tried to take down the dark elf, the only thing that happened was that the dark elf disappeared into her dark mist as well.

It was like shooting at a target that constantly kept disappearing.

There was no doubt that this was an annoying thing to do, but Aragon had no choice but to keep shooting since he had to keep the dark elf pinned down.

If it wasn't for his arrows keeping the dark elf back, then she would have already stabbed the hero in the back.

Just like this, the hero's side was being pushed back more and more.

It didn't seem like there was anyone that was coming to help them with how the inner city gates remained closed. It seemed that the king and his ministers were all planning on leaving this matter to the hero.

But it wasn't as if the hero alone was enough to handle all of this.

"Have all the people been evacuated?" Gran Jurad asked all of a sudden.

Amy, who had been fighting with a demon said, "Yes, we've made sure that they've all been taken away from the capital and have been evacuated in the direction of the Abel Kingdom."

Hearing this, Gran Jurad suddenly gathered his power for one large blow.

Val Zahar didn't do the same as he had the demons move back.

After all, he could tell that Gran Jurad wasn't actually using this move to hurt them.

Rather, he was just using this move to create space between his group and the demons.

Once that move fell down, Gran Jurad turned around and led the escape for his group.

When the demons saw this, they couldn't help being taken aback by this.

After all, this was the last thing that they had been expecting from the hero.

But in the end, they could see that this group of heroes was going all out in trying to escape.

There were some demons that wanted to chase down the hero's group, but they were stopped by Val Zahar.

"They were able to stop us by themselves without the help of the other humans, so I think you should know how strong they are. If we start chasing them and put pressure on them, there's no telling what they will do."

"But should we really just let the hero get away like this?" The demons didn't seem willing to let the hero go like this.

Val Zahar just simply asked, "What are we even trying to do here?"

The demons seemed surprised and a bit confused when they heard this, but then they slowly said, "We're here to loot the human territory."

"Yes and the owner of the territory is still watching over all of this. If we chase after the heroes, then aren't we just weakening ourselves before dealing with them?"

The demons slowly started to realize what Val Zahar was talking about before looking at the castle at the center of the city.

If they were to chase after the hero right now, then all they would be doing is weakening themselves and splitting up their party. There were no benefits for them to do something like this.

Seeing that they were slowly understanding what he was saying, Val Zahar continued by saying, "For now, let's finish what we came here to do. There's no need to chase the hero."

With this, the demons set off to take down the castle.

The king and the ministers that were hiding inside of the castle panicked when they saw this.

They couldn't help cursing the hero that had abandoned them, but there really was nothing that they could do about it since they were completely surrounded by demons.

"Are you sure about this? This was a good chance to take down the hero." The dark elf asked Val Zahar all of a sudden.

Val Zahar just watched as the demons attacked the castle before saying, "There's no point in taking down the hero right now. If I do it for them for free, then it wouldn't bring me any benefits. The hero won't be able to match me as long as I have the full might of the demon race."

The dark elf had a trace of doubt in her eyes, but she didn't say anything in the end.
