The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 151: Then the Maze Had Light_3

Bransia only felt her scalp tingle.

"But..."

Xino glanced at the cheat sheet in his hand and continued to threaten with an authoritative voice.

"The Lord said that the Gate of Chaos has opened right before your very faces, and not only do you not feel a shred of shame, but you are still coveting the power in your hands. Do you know why Chaos has set its sights on you? It's because the disdain and sacrilege in your hearts have given it an opportunity to exploit!"

"Such unworthy beings as you are not deserving of salvation. It would be better to feed them with your flesh and let them run amok behind the Aus Empire. Perhaps you might be of some slight use then! If you're lucky, Chaos might even swallow your souls, which would be better than allowing you to return to the embrace of Lord Demon God and pollute the Soul Pool in the Rebirth Hall!"

That deafening voice echoed through the forest, with Xino maximizing the intimidation ability of the Horror Demons.

Although the four Demon Generals present were stronger than him, strength is never an absolute concept. Moreover, they were terrifying themselves with their own imaginings, already sweating with fear.

Bransia swallowed hard, speechless for the moment and unsure of what to say. Glak's face showed an expression of shame as if he had truly realized the disgrace.

Just a second ago, Yousi, who was laughing heartily, suddenly couldn't laugh anymore, shivering as she turned to look at Mi Xi sitting beside her.

"Mi, Mi Xi..."

Looking at her not-so-bright comrade, Mi Xi said helplessly.

"What's wrong with you now?"

Yousi said nervously.

"The Lord Demon King... he wouldn't really abandon us, would he?"

She certainly didn't want to return to the life of starving two out of every three days.

Mi Xi, in her heart, was also uncertain.

"I don't know... But you don't have to worry so much, Mi Xi thinks he probably won't just leave our lord to fend for himself."

Yousi, who had just been dispirited a second ago, suddenly perked up upon hearing this and grabbed Mi Xi's shoulder.

"Will he bring the lord back to Demon City?! Will he take us too?! Is the food in Demon City delicious? Is it true they have so much meat they can't finish it all and even use it to pave the streets?"

"Uh... I don't know about that." The logic leaps and bounds in the small, short-circuited brain almost caused Mi Xi's head to crash.

While a few Little Demons were whispering among themselves, Valgur looked at Xino and said in a deep, hoarse voice.

"We have realized our folly... Please, for the sake of us all being children of the Demon God, give us another chance."

"Yes..." Bransia quickly followed, "Please, Lord Demon King, give us one more chance! We will prove our loyalty to him!"

"If that's truly what you desire, you shouldn't be begging me or begging for his mercy, but rather prove that you are worth saving."

Xino said emotionlessly.

"The armies of Chaos are gathering."

"If you truly wish for him to stay and help you clean up this mess, then show him your resolve."

Having finished reciting all his lines, Xino had no choice but to leave.

Leaving the four Demon Generals behind, he departed from the woods without turning back, heading towards the tower that led to the third level of the Maze.

Watching the departing silhouette of the Horror Demon fade into the mist, Terrell glanced at the withered wooden staff in his hand, then broke the silence at the scene.

"It is shameful to say that it was not just you who stood by and watched from afar. We had detected his arrival long ago, and had been watching him from a distance... even, unavoidably, with a bit of schadenfreude."

"We didn't regard him as a qualified Demon King, not only because he is too young, but also because he had never been here before; to us, he was completely an outsider, representing not our interests, but those of Hell. We started to believe he wouldn't last long and would soon go back where he came from... However, it turned out we were wrong."

"While we were watching with skepticism, he took up the responsibility of a Demon King, rallied the Demons willing to follow him, and ended the chaos of the Maze layer by layer, cleaning up the mess Reggie Dragon and we ourselves had created... Yes, the situation today is not entirely Dragon's fault; we also bear responsibility, but we just forgot it."

"I realized this while I was coldly observing. And by the time I became aware of it, to my shame, I discovered... he, who comes from the deepest depths of Hell, has done more for this Maze than we who live here ever did, despite it being our responsibility."

With that, Terrell sighed softly, then gradually straightened his face, speaking in a solemn voice.

"The Gray Wind Tribe will assemble all warriors to follow his command, whether he still wishes to lead us onward or not."

"The same goes for the Land of Nightmare, we will always heed his orders," Qianqian played with her nails, speaking in a matter-of-fact tone, "We are always ready to repel the invading enemies, whether they come from above the ground or from the Chaos Realm... unlike certain spineless idlers."

"Watch your words, Little Demon of the Land of Nightmare, we never argue with lips but with teeth," Valgur exhaled a frosty Breath an inch long, warningly, then turned his mountain-like body.

"The Frost Clan is also loyal to that Lord... I will take my Clan to assemble on the fifth layer of the Maze, whether you come or not."

"Desperate City will also comply with Lord Demon King's deployment, that's what I intended from the beginning," Bransia claimed unabashedly, putting down her arms crossed in front of her chest, casting a meaningful look at the Beastman Warrior beside her, "I suppose Glak Bloodblade won't stab me in the back at this time, right?"

"You think I am like you?" Glak Bloodblade said with a dark face, "I will lead my Clan into the battle!"

At this moment, the Shadow Demon General Thanos, who had been silent for a long time, finally weighed his options and spoke up.

"Count me in as well."

A smile played at the corner of Bransia's lips.

"It seems we have reached an agreement... although I always feel we should have done this long ago."

I heard the small fry in the upper levels of the Maze even held something they called a "Summit Meeting," yet they never discussed so candidly as today.

Thanos gave her a look, said nothing, and his figure slowly merged with the surrounding mist, vanishing from the forest in but a moment.

"Instead of babbling so much, better bring more arms," Glak sneered, mockingly, "I hope when I see Desperate City's troops, they won't just be a bunch of goblins hauling supplies."

Bransia chuckled heartily, unflinchingly staring into his eyes.

"The same could be said for you."

All of these had happened during the war between Reggie Dragon and Duke Campbell.

The Demons within the Maze had never been united, but now they seemed to coalesce once again, ostensibly harmonious yet estranged.

Terrell couldn't help but pray silently in his heart.

Not just for the fate of the Gray Wind Tribe, but also for the Maze itself, and for the Demon King, whom he still found promising.

Hopefully, this time will be different...
