Montello left the bar, calling the others to leave together. Chuck and his group were about to enter the bar when Liliana's phone rang. She glanced at it and frowned, looking at Montello, "Wait, Yang is calling me," she said, and then answered the call: "Mr. Yang, what's the matter?"
Jimmy's voice was emotionless, and he simply said, "Keep an eye on her, don't let her escape, I'll come for her." With that, Jimmy hung up directly.
Liliana turned her head with an unpleasant expression and glanced at the bar door, then looked at Montello, "Let's go, I'll tell you in the car."
Chuck and his group only saw Liliana answer a call, and after she hung up and got in the car with Montello, they returned to the bar.
Chuck: "Jimmy, what happened?"
Jimmy: "You heard our conversation earlier, right? Tomorrow, their people will come to find you, the ones who arranged the driver to hit Nia, that Max and the flash that Nia tracked. You handle it, I won't get involved in this case any further."
Chuck: "What about the murder case? I heard you discussing a woman named Perkins?"
Jimmy: "For now, we can't proceed; I need to ask around, the clues are too sparse, we're not sure if she did it."
Chuck: "OK, got it. We've made significant progress today, at least resolved Nia's issue first."
Jimmy: "Right, make sure to have someone keep an eye on them for a while, openly, there's no need to conceal identities."
Chuck: "I understand, I'll let them know the rules. Anything else?"
Jimmy: "If they're not honest, give them a little warning."
Chuck: "OK, we'll head back then."
Jimmy nodded, Chuck left with a young man. This young man was quite good, from the moment they entered the bar until now, he hadn't said a word, always stayed a step behind Chuck, and his expression didn't change much, very steady. It seems Chuck is grooming him as an heir.
Jimmy checked the time on his watch; it's still early. He took out his phone and dialed Charon's number. Charon answered swiftly, "Good afternoon, Mr. Yang. How can I assist you?"
Jimmy: "Good afternoon, Charon. Are you working today?"
Charon: "Yes, Mr. Yang, I'm at the hotel."
Jimmy: "OK, I'll come to see you, need to consult you on something."
Charon: "I'll be waiting for you at the hotel. See you soon."
Jimmy: "See you soon."
Jimmy hung up the phone and looked towards the bar counter at Woody, "Woody, could you tidy up? I need to leave first."
Woody: "Sure, Jimmy. By the way, who came today?"
Jimmy: "The boss and the cadre behind the Snake Dance Club, they're not on our side, don't pay them too much mind."
Woody: "Which Snake Dance Club?"
Jimmy: "The one in Hell's Kitchen."
Woody: "I see. Goodbye."
Jimmy left the bar, headed to the parking lot, and drove to the Intercontinental Hotel. Every time he visited the Intercontinental Hotel, Jimmy found the building intriguing.
The hotel wasn't tall, mainly its odd shape, the entrance perfectly aligned with its sharp angle. Two attendants stood at the door, watched as Jimmy's Mercedes CLS was parked out front, and came over to take Jimmy's keys and drive the car away. The space at the entrance wasn't large, parking could potentially affect traffic.
Charon was still at the front desk, and upon seeing Jimmy approach, he flashed a faint smile, "Good afternoon, Mr. Yang."
Jimmy greeted Charon with a smile: "Hi, Charon, good afternoon. Is now convenient? Let's find a quiet place to chat."
Charon: "Certainly. Please."
Charon gestured for Jimmy to follow him, then came out from behind the front desk while another man in a black suit immediately took his place as receptionist.
Charon's work was really reliable. Either they had a good rapport, or he had pre-arranged everything; it gave Jimmy a particularly good impression. More and more, it seemed Winston was lucky to have a subordinate like him.
In a lounge, Charon invited Jimmy to sit down, took a bottle of already opened whiskey from a nearby shelf, and poured Jimmy a glass, "Please."
Jimmy: "Wow, how did you know I often drink this one? Charon, thanks."
Charon simply smiled and didn't respond, sitting on a single sofa next to Jimmy, "Mr. Yang, may I ask what's the purpose of this visit?"
Jimmy put down the glass, looked at Charon, and said, "Charon, you guys are probably New York's biggest organization, right? Are there other organizations with top female assassins here?"
Charon: "Yes, there are quite a few lone operators; we're not aware of everyone."
Jimmy: "So, what about experts? I suppose you know a bit. Someone told me a name, Ms. Perkins."
Charon paused a moment: "May I know what's happened?"
Jimmy: "A murder case, the incident caused my fiancée Nia to have an accident, she's still recovering at home. So, I'm investigating for her, and I've made some progress, but I need to find out who Ms. Perkins really is first."
Charon: "Alright, I understand. I'll help look into it. Any other questions?"
Jimmy: "Oh, nothing else, Nia's injury really caught me off guard. Unfortunately, I'm at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, so many things are inconvenient. Sigh."
Jimmy sighed, picked up his glass, took a sip, then stood up, "Charon, please convey my regards to Winston, I'm heading back."
