Chapter 525: An Unexpected Visitor (Part 3)

Mrs. Ruiz reached out and touched Jimmy's head, smiling, "I will, if my body allows it. It's been a long time since I've attended such an event."

Jimmy smiled and said, "Thank you, Grandma Ruiz, having elders present at such a ceremony is very important to me."

Mrs. Ruiz nodded with a smile, "You're a good kid, just live a good life in the future."

Andrew: "Jimmy, has the time been set?"

Jimmy shook his head, "Not yet. I've contacted my fiancée's family to discuss the schedule, and I'll inform you as soon as it's confirmed."

Andrew nodded, "Remember to send me an invitation."

Jimmy nodded with a smile, "Of course, I won't forget. Thank you, Grandpa Andrew."

Andrew: "Alright, it's getting late, I have to head back." He walked up to Mrs. Ruiz, bent down, and hugged her, "Karen, goodbye."

Mrs. Ruiz nodded, "Goodbye."

Jimmy escorted them to the door again, and upon returning, Tom had already said his goodbyes to Mrs. Ruiz, "Teacher, you should rest early. We're heading back too."

Mrs. Ruiz looked at Jimmy and Tom, "Yes, come and see me more when you have time. Go on."

Jimmy and Tom hugged Mrs. Ruiz, left the cabin, got into the car, and drove towards Washington, D.C. Tom explained Andrew's identity to him in the car, saying he was also in the DIA before, and took over the position of Deputy Director after Jimmy's nominal grandfather Harry Anderson passed away.

Harry and Andrew were in the same unit before and were transferred together to the J-2 office under the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Ministry of Defense, responsible for intelligence work. After the Defense Intelligence Bureau DIA was established in the Ministry of Defense, the J-2 office under the Joint Chiefs of Staff was almost abolished, and many people were incorporated into the DIA department.

Mrs. Ruiz, Greg, and Harry Anderson were good friends, and both Mrs. Ruiz and Greg entered the CIA. Under the harsh environment of the Cold War, they all rose to high positions.

In terms of level, there's a significant gap between the DIA and the CIA. The DIA is subordinate to the Ministry of Defense, while the CIA reports directly to the President. However, many CIA operations require the US Army's bases and personnel worldwide to complete missions, so their communication is very frequent, which made the relationships between people from different departments closer instead of farther apart.

This is why Mrs. Ruiz was able to gather people together. Harry and Andrew were comrades, colleagues, and friends. After his old brother's entire family was killed, he investigated and found the results, but it was also done by another friend, so he could only remain silent.

Now suddenly discovering that his old friend still has a surviving bloodline, he was naturally very excited and hurried over immediately.

Tom also got some information from Mrs. Ruiz, along with his own speculations, he could roughly guess the twists and turns here. He explained these to Jimmy, also hoping Jimmy would understand that the people who came today are not simple and need to be taken seriously. Moreover, when he gets engaged and married later, he must not forget the promise today to send invitations, even if they don't have time to attend, his invitation is a statement.

In any case, the gains tonight were huge. Jimmy's visit to Washington this time truly meant he took over everything related to this identity, especially the pile of Veronica's relics collected by Tom, and the things he would inherit that originally belonged to Jimmy.
