Chapter 525: An Unexpected Visitor (Part 2)

Jimmy: "Thanks, Sam."

Sam shook his head with a smile, grabbed two cups from the side and poured coffee for them, as Jimmy and Watson sat on the sofa in the living room.

Watson whispered: "I really didn't expect this, Jimmy. Why didn't you contact us earlier?"

Jimmy replied in a low voice: "I was still in hibernation back then, understand this, the FBI isn't bad either. How about you? Weren't you caught before?"

Watson: "It's been resolved, I'm now here at Langley headquarters."

Jimmy nodded. He knew Watson a little, having worked together a few times, but their relationship wasn't very close, so they were at most acquainted.

Watson: "I really didn't expect you were one of us. Looks like your training back in the day was quite good; the explanation for those kill records in the files now makes sense."

Jimmy: "Sometimes it's hard to hold back; nowadays I rarely go all out."

Watson shook his head: "If only I'd known, back when Byrne came to New York, you should have been the one to take action."

Jimmy: "No, I'm not his match. He was the best in the training camp."

Sam had already delivered coffee to the study, and after coming out, poured three more cups and brought them over: "Your coffee."

Jimmy and Watson thanked him, and Sam sat down with them to drink coffee. With Sam around, Jimmy and Watson weren't convenient to talk, so they quietly drank coffee and rested.

Jimmy looked toward the study, where Thomas and Mrs. Waltz were still chatting face-to-face about something. Their voices were certainly low, even with Jimmy's sharper hearing, he couldn't hear them.

He glanced at the bedroom next to the study. There were three people, exactly Tom, Andrew, and another person who had been in the living room earlier. At least for now, it seemed Watson hadn't found out about the people next door.

Looking outside the cabin again, there were two more cars, probably one each driven by Thomas and Watson. At least within his Heart Eye range, there was no one else.

If someone were to attack this cabin now, it would be lively. Inside this cabin there were two CIA Deputy Directors/former Deputy Directors, a Senior Supervisor, a Senior DIA leader, and a Senior FBI Agent... If they were taken out, all three agencies would be in chaos.

However, if someone actually came to attack, Jimmy would give them a surprise. This is a forest environment, so unless using heavy firepower from afar, if it's just close combat in a night environment, he could beat the attackers into shreds.

Luckily, everything Jimmy observed at the moment was normal, with no opportunities for him to act.

After finishing a cup of coffee, Mrs. Waltz called Sam from the study, who put down the coffee cup and headed to the study, turning to wave at Jimmy and the others as he entered.

Seeing Jimmy and Watson come in and sit down, Thomas spoke: "Jimmy, I understand what you mean now. Since it's Mrs. Waltz's request, I'll agree to it. You'll go to Langley headquarters tomorrow, and I'll arrange for Watson to handle it. You just contact him directly."

Jimmy immediately stood up, extended his hands to shake Thomas's right hand: "Thank you, thank you, Deputy Director."

Thomas also stood up: "Mrs. Waltz, I'll go back to arrange things now. Rest assured, I'll handle it properly."

Mrs. Waltz said with a smile: "Thank you for your hard work, Thomas. Say hello to the others for me."

Thomas smiled, his wrinkles deepening: "Then we'll be off. Watson."

Watson stood up as well: "Goodbye, Mrs. Waltz."

Mrs. Waltz looked at Jimmy: "Jimmy, see them off for me."

Jimmy: "Alright, Granny Waltz."

Thomas nodded to Jimmy with a smile, and the three of them left the study, crossing the living room and headed outside the cabin. Thomas moved toward his car, Watson reached out to stop Jimmy, "Call me tomorrow morning."

Jimmy: "Alright, 9 o'clock?"

Watson: "No problem, call me when you get to Langley."

Jimmy nodded, extended his hand to shake Watson's, and Watson walked to his own car. The two cars turned around and left along the path. Watching the departing cars, Jimmy was about to turn around when he suddenly saw headlights flash on the road ahead, with a third car following them out.

Well, that position was indeed a bit far, beyond Jimmy's Heart Eye range, and in the dark environment, he hadn't actually seen a car parked there.

This is somewhat a limitation of Jimmy's current abilities; for combat and reconnaissance, his current Heart Eye coverage is already sufficient, covering a distance of over 50 meters is more than enough in the city, as most buildings fall within Jimmy's coverage, though large structures are an exception.

But out in the wild, this distance is relatively inadequate, and beyond this visual range, whether it's a rifle or a handgun, either can theoretically shoot far enough to injure him.

Of course, this isn't a major issue for now. During the last attack in New York, Jimmy already knew his Sixth Sense was extremely sensitive; he could even dodge snipers when on a building, although with fewer attacks currently, he's unsure if he'll always have that sense of tension.

Returning to the cabin, Tom, Andrew, and the others had already come out from the next bedroom, standing at the study door watching him. Jimmy nodded: "They have already left."

Several people entered the study, Mrs. Waltz looked at Jimmy: "Your issues have been resolved, I think you can be at ease now."

Jimmy crouched beside Mrs. Waltz, holding her hands: "Thank you, Granny Waltz. Someday in the future, I'd like to host an engagement ceremony or wedding ceremony, and I would like to invite you to attend. Would you be willing?"
