North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 762: 464 Nia's Arrival (Happy May Day!)

The tactical team had already arrested the three people in the house, one of whom was caught in a bedroom on the second floor, wearing only a pair of underwear, crouched in a corner; the other two appeared to be the workers.

In the living room, there was a set of chemistry equipment, including flasks, beakers, and a bunch of equipment Jimmy couldn't name.

Hank: "It looks like we've made a good haul this time, these little bastards' stuff doesn't seem new, they must have made quite a bit already. Steven, call people over to search, let's see where they've stashed the finished goods."

Steven exited the house and started making calls outside, Hank said to Jimmy: "Most of the people we catch are like this, their meth is crudely made, not very pure, plus they add all sorts of additives. These small workshops are common, the most typical kind of drug dens."

Jimmy, looking at the chemistry equipment in front of him, said: "Is it really that simple to make? These conditions are way too crude, the last time I saw this kind of equipment was in a lab."

Hank: "Of course it's not simple, without someone to guide them, it's hard for average people to handle it. But with some training, even high school students can get the hang of it after a few tries, so in that sense, it really is simple."

Jimmy: "That simple? Then too many people can learn it, there's really no barrier. Chemical courses, I remember those started in high school, right?"

Hank nodded: "There's chemistry class in 10th grade, and in private schools, maybe even in 8th."

Jimmy: "Then you guys have your work cut out for you. Nowadays, with the internet, if someone starts sharing the production process online, it's pretty much like openly publishing the recipe, and kids of that age will definitely be curious to try it out."

Hank sighed: "That's already happening, but it's not serious yet."

Steven had made calls, and people would come to search the house later. Hank and the other Senior Agents' main tasks weren't evidence collection, so while they seemed to be free, they were actually quite tired, as they were the ones who had followed the clues to this house.

Jimmy: "I think you might need to coordinate with the schools, run some activities for the students, warn them about the dangers of this stuff."

Hank turned to look at Jimmy, somewhat puzzled.

Jimmy continued, looking at Hank: "I interned at our office's public relations department for a while, and every year we'd select some schools in New York for special activities, mainly to teach the students how to protect themselves, safety training, how to avoid dangers, and other content like that. At least, the results seemed pretty good from what I gathered."

Hank nodded thoughtfully, "We should have similar initiatives, but it hardly involves us field agents; I haven't paid much attention to it, I'll follow up on it."

Jimmy: "It was just a thought, I hope it doesn't interfere with your work."

Hank: "No, no, you make a good point. Now that the kids might come across this kind of content, giving them a warning in advance is helpful. Thanks, Jimmy, your opinion is important."

Steven mentioned, "Hank, if I remember correctly, your brother-in-law is a high school teacher, right?"

Hank nodded: "I've already thought of him, I'll talk to him later. He just so happens to teach chemistry. If the school has no issues, I can file a report on this."

The tactical team had completed their mission and returned, and the three suspects were taken away in cars by other agents.

Hank: "Let's go, our business here is just about done, let's head back."

Hank drove with Steven and Jimmy away from the scene, dropping Jimmy off at the hotel before he and Steven returned to the DEA office.

The reason Jimmy was invited to observe was also to express gratitude to him. The suitcase he provided was excellent, besides the bricks inside, the keys yielded the most important gains.

After investigating traffic footage before Tim returned to the house, they successfully located a rental storage facility, and one of the keys pinpointed a specific storage unit, where they found the drugs Tim hadn't yet distributed.

The credit for this find didn't go to Jimmy, Hank and his colleagues reaped the entirety of it, which was a considerable gain. No need to speak of anything else, this year's targets were certainly met, and the bonus wouldn't be small.

The rest of the items inside the suitcase were still under appraisal, attempting to find more locations and clues to pinpoint Tim's other safe houses and storage units—thus potentially expanding their success even further.

Hank wasn't a stickler. No matter Jimmy's status, the clues he provided had contributed a lot to their success and they wanted to offer him some benefits in return. Just watching an operation wasn't much of a benefit, but by undertaking action together and fostering a friendly atmosphere to bridge distances, that was genuinely kind-hearted.

When it comes to someone capable of big things, it's always right to build a good relationship and at least not show any disregard. Everyone has self-esteem; being respected by others can always bring pleasure.

In fact, Hank had already guessed Tim's fate by now; otherwise, Jimmy couldn't have gotten his hands on the things in that suitcase. At least when they left, Tim had two people with him, and being the second-in-command of a notorious gang, one could even speculate that Jimmy faced even more people when he acted. Yet they had received no information, which was very interesting.
