North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 748: 459 Cleaners also have a problem?

Jimmy stood up, looking around, circled around to make sure no one was hiding, then picked up his phone to make a call.

With the scene as it was, Jimmy couldn't just walk away. With over a dozen bodies, Albuquerque would explode into chaos once dawn broke.

Jimmy, "Justin, have you gone to rest?"

Justin, "Just closed up. What's up?"

Jimmy, "New Mexico, Albuquerque, need to book dinner for fourteen, can you cover the bill for me and have them contact me?"

Justin was immediately enraged, exclaiming, "How many? Fourteen?"

Jimmy, "Unexpected situation here. I'm using my real identity; I must handle it."

Justin, "Time? Location?"

Jimmy, "Need to finish before dawn, got 3 hours, next to the Sandia Waste Water Treatment site, a construction site. Just handle the large objects."

Justin, "I'll get in touch."

Jimmy hung up the phone and waited about ten minutes before it rang, "One hour out. Will call you in advance. Payment's been made." Justin then hung up.

Jimmy put away his phone, went over to Scott's body, searched him, found a set of keys, a wallet, a phone; the rest was unnecessary.

Just as he was about to get up, he looked at the guns on the ground, picked up a Glock as backup, then took the items back to his car, drove it a bit farther away to prevent the upcoming people from seeing his license plate — the fewer clues they could find, the better.

Jimmy picked up the call, waved down a truck along the roadside. Four people got out, the driver and an old man from the cabin, and two young men got out of the truck's cargo door.

The old man, coming from the passenger side, greeted Jimmy with a nod, "Hey, Butcher."

Jimmy nodded his head, "Hey, it's inside. Take the bodies, clean up the blood a bit, leave no obvious traces."

The old man nodded, waved his hand, and the three young men took tools from the truck to the construction site.

Jimmy stood with the old man, watching as they got to work. One laid out a plastic sheet on the ground, while the other two lifted a body onto it, wrapping it to prevent blood from leaking out during transport.

All was going smoothly until, while lifting a body, one of the young men dropped it suddenly.

"Henry!" The young man cried out, then knelt down, reaching out to touch the face of the body. "Ah~~" The young man pulled out a gun from his waist and pointed it towards Jimmy.

"Bang," Jimmy had been watching the cleanup. The moment the body fell, he was taken by surprise, but as soon as the boy shouted "Henry," Jimmy had drawn his pistol; the shot was, of course, his doing.

The young man took a shot in his arm, the gun falling from his grasp. He clutched his right arm with his left, and started crying.

The old man exclaimed, "What have you done?"

Jimmy pressed the gun against the old man, "What were you planning? Why did he shoot at me?"

The old man didn't look at Jimmy, "Teddy, check how Josh is doing."

The old man turned to Jimmy, "Don't be nervous, let me check first." He walked towards the two young men, "Josh, what happened?"

Josh, sobbing, said, "Henry, he's my brother."

The old man sighed, "Teddy, take Josh over to the truck and stay there, and let's get this job finished quickly."

Jimmy, "Hold on, let's clear this up. I don't need someone coming after me every day."

"Bang," Jimmy was stunned; this shot wasn't his. The old man turned to Jimmy, "Don't worry, we are very professional, won't cause you trouble."

The old man to the remaining two people, "Get to work." Then he turned and walked to Jimmy's side.

The old man turning to Jimmy, "This mess is our fault. Sorry for the trouble. Rest assured, it's handled. I'll take care of the rest."

Jimmy didn't lower his gun, his arm just drooped, "We've been working together for so long, I trust your reliability. I want no troubles trailing back, and if something does leak, I think..."

The old man cut Jimmy off, "I said don't worry, I've got this. You can go now. We'll handle this."

Jimmy shook his head, "I'll leave after you've cleaned up."

The old man, "Suit yourself," then fell silent, just watching the other two wrapping up the bodies.

After an hour, all the bodies were dragged into the truck. The two young men, with flashlights, checked the ground; where there were blood stains, they shoveled off the soil and applied cleaning fluid where it couldn't be cleared, diluting and cleaning until no visible blood remained.

After washing down parts of the ground with clear water, the two met the old man, nodded, then walked toward the truck.

The old man to Jimmy, "All done here, so we're heading back."

Jimmy, "Thanks, goodbye."

The old man also turned, boarded the truck, and the truck started up, made a U-turn, and left the construction site.

Jimmy returned to his car, ready to leave, when he suddenly remembered he hadn't searched Scott's car. He walked back into the construction site, found three sedans parked inside. Among them was a Cadillac, obviously the boss's ride. Indeed, it was this one; Jimmy pulled at the car door and it opened easily, saving him the trouble of searching for the keys.

Jimmy checked the car and finally found a hard briefcase in the trunk. Taking the briefcase, he closed the trunk, left the construction site, and drove his own car back to the city.
