North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 731: Some people are always looking for trouble.

Jimmy had arrived with all his luggage this time, having checked out from the hotel in Dallas. He had a legitimate reason to come to Houston; the murder case files prepared by Lambert were carefully selected, with the suspect last seen in Houston.

Jimmy wasn't planning to give up on this case. Lambert and Hughes, the two old men, had prepared such a comprehensive plan to cover his revenge, it would be embarrassing for him not to solve it once he looked back on it after it ended.

However, he could put the case on hold for a bit as he needed to find Mo Davis first. Bob had given him a detailed address, although it wasn't precise to the house number, which was expected, as their kind certainly had others drive them; knowing the approximate location was enough to find it.

Houston was a bit big, and after entering the city, Jimmy bought a map from a gas station, noted down the important routes, and then headed to the vicinity of the nightclub where Mo Davis was often seen, and checked into a hotel there.

The bar and the Anglican Church, the two places Davis frequented, Jimmy spent two days watching, even praying in the church. But, without a photo of Davis, he wasn't sure who Davis was.

Danny Davis, the blonde man he had met with Bob at the bar, was Mo's brother. The brothers must have a resemblance, so Jimmy kept an eye out for blonde men, but hadn't seen any so far.

Out of options, Jimmy opted for the safest method. He shopped for some second-hand clothes, cowboy hats, and baseball caps, giving himself a complete makeover, including the magical touch of tattoo stickers.

Although his time with Ruiz wasn't long, Ruiz had specifically given him a stack of information on Chinese gangs, which included various distinguishing tattoos.

During a "chat" with Bob, Bob's speculation reminded him that disguising as a gang member was the best choice if he didn't want to expose his identity.

While there weren't few Chinese people in Texas, compared to places like California and New York State, it lagged significantly behind; here, there were no major Chinese gang influences, just some minor gang-level hoodlums.

Although Jimmy didn't know the local minor gangs, he disguised himself as Red Stick (426), which suited his identity, and gang members could recognize his status without getting too reckless.

Stick-on tattoos were convenient but there were no ready-made designs for Jimmy to use; he had to choose several and process them by cutting and combining. It was indeed a hassle for Jimmy, who could have even customized designs if he was in New York, and it's possible Ruiz's place might have had some in stock.

At night, after finishing his disguise, he left the hotel and headed to the exterior of the nightclub, soon spotting his target.

In the alley behind the nightclub, there was a man smoking next to the back door. Although the lighting wasn't very bright, the patterns on his neck and side of his face identified him as one of Azte's people.

From a distance, Jimmy saw a security camera above the back door, avoided approaching, and walked into the alley, leaned against the wall, and lit a cigarette. He calculated the camera's viewing range, which wasn't difficult as he was too familiar with these old types of surveillance.

After finishing his cigarette, Jimmy threw away the butt and stomped it out. He slowly edged along the wall into the alley, the guard by the door clearly absent-minded, not even looking toward the entrance of the alley while smoking.

Getting close, Jimmy pulled out Bob's gun and aimed it at the guard, "Hey, don't move, don't talk, come here."

The guard, alarmed by Jimmy's voice, turned his head and directly saw the gun pointing at his head. He hadn't experienced being at gunpoint often and was a bit stunned, but still did as Jimmy said and moved out of the camera's range.

This time, Jimmy wasn't as gentle as before; after a brief friendly interaction, the guard was-on the ground, of course, alive. During his second visit to the FBI Academy in Quantico, competing extensively with the trainer, Jimmy had learned techniques not normally taught to standard agents, such as how to knock someone unconscious.

The FBI instructors were not easy roles, many of them were former special forces members, and the things they knew were too much to teach to trainees; it was simply too dangerous.

The information Jimmy obtained was a bit of a surprise; this place was only a rendezvous point for Mo Davis to meet others, and if there wasn't anything specific, he wouldn't come, such as today where he wasn't here.

Besides, Mo was not as Jimmy thought; unlike his brother, Mo Davis was a bald man, not tall, and not overweight. Jimmy had been looking for a blonde man all this while, but in reality, Mo had no hair.

However, this guy was just a minor character, totally unaware of Mo's whereabouts, so Jimmy had to continue his surveillance and investigation.

There were gains, though; while he couldn't find Mo, one of his direct subordinates was right in the nightclub. Jimmy obtained a rough physical description but couldn't get close enough for a better observation.

Just a minor hoodlum, and Jimmy wasn't about to straightforwardly resort to murder; that would be too heinous. Jimmy was out for revenge, targeting specific individuals; this type of minor hoodlum was not within the scope of Jimmy's retribution.

Jimmy returned to the hotel to rest. After waking up the next day, he continued shopping, buying a telescope and a camping knife for future use.
