Kael's workshop, as soon as they entered, Kael spoke up, "Hi, long time no see, how have you been?"
Jimmy: "All good, I've recovered. Where's my gun?"
Kael took a wooden box from the shelf beside him, opened it, and a revolver lay quietly inside.
Jimmy picked it up, weighed it in his hand, and asked, "Do you have a normal Colt Python here?"
Kael nodded, pulled back the protective net on the wall, and took a Python from the gun rack for Jimmy.
After feeling the weight, which was almost the same as his M686-1, just a tad heavier, he admired the 6-inch silver-white barrel, which was very beautiful. The reddish-brown wooden grip panels, replaced according to Jimmy's request, also felt very nice.
Jimmy tested the forward swing-out cylinder release, which also felt good, Kael's craftsmanship was truly remarkable.
Kael: "The action kit and the cylinder are custom-ordered from S&W, the grips and frame are milled by hand, and I won't mention where the barrel is from, as that needs to stay confidential, but I can guarantee that the barrel's rifling will last at least 5000 rounds without affecting accuracy at 20 meters."
Jimmy nodded; this customized Python also used .357 Magnum bullets. Now that his arm had just healed and he couldn't fire yet, he only took 6 bullets to try the feel, and loading them was very smooth.
Jimmy: "Did you also adjust the cylinder?"
Kael: "Yes, I chamfered the outside edge of the cylinder a bit to facilitate ejection, but it doesn't affect the seal. I've seen your loading technique, and I hope you'll like this modification."
Jimmy smiled and nodded, "I really like it, Kael, your work is excellent."
Kael also smiled. Since he brought Jimmy in, his expression had been very serious and tense, but now seeing his work approved, he could fully feel the joy.
Jimmy: "Was this gun test-fired?"
Kael: "Yes, 12 rounds of .357 Magnum, and six rounds each of SP-10 and SP12, accuracy is completely fine."
Jimmy: "OK, I'm not in a position to test fire now, but I'll give it a try later. Are my bullets ready?"
Kael nodded, turned and walked to the shelf, and from there he took a large and a small box: "These are bullets I had custom-made for you, a total of 200. These cases are for .357 Magnums, you can assemble them yourself after you get back."
Jimmy: "OK, what about the reloading tools?"
Kael said with a smile, "Of course, they are ready for you, just outside, we'll put them in the car later."
Jimmy: "Fantastic, Kael, you're very reliable. Oh, I've brought my gun with me, could you help me with the gun certificate?"
Jimmy opened the box, took out two 1875 revolvers and handed them to Kael. Kael examined the details of the guns carefully.
As Kael examined them, he exclaimed, "Wow, fully handcrafted, very reasonably structured."
Jimmy: "How about it? Can you issue a gun certificate?"
Kael nodded, "No problem with the certificate, I just need to take detailed photos, but I'll need these two guns as templates to make a model to keep in the workshop. Do you have time? It might take until tomorrow to finish."
Jimmy looked at the time and nodded, "That's fine, I'm resting in Philadelphia today."
Kael, holding the two guns, went to the workbench and started to measure the dimensions and record information. All these would be filed in the workshop records, and from then on, these two guns would become studio-produced handcrafted replicas of the 1875.
Watching Kael engrossed in his work, Jimmy couldn't help but be impressed by his fine skills at such a young age, and this focus must surely be his greatest strength.
Jimmy left the Python in its box, deciding to take everything together the next day. The key was those two guns. Once their registration was complete, leaving one as a sample would do; Jimmy needed to take one in case of any issues.
After more than an hour of waiting, the registration and photography were finally completed. Kael fired two rounds into ballistic gel to register the rifling of the guns, concluding the process.
Kael: "Done, I'll give you the certificates tomorrow."
Jimmy nodded, took one of the guns, and left with his luggage from Morgan's house.
The next morning, Jimmy returned, while Kael clearly hadn't rested, having likely worked overtime late into the night. A revolver identical to Jimmy's 1875 was displayed on the rack.
Jimmy took back his gun, checked it carefully; it felt wrong to suspect Kael of a bait-and-switch, but it had heavy wear marks that couldn't have been replicated in such a short time.
Kael had bloodshot eyes, clearly from lack of sleep and obvious excitement.
Kael handed over two gun certificates to Jimmy, "They're ready, you can register these guns at any institution now, no problem."
Jimmy: "Thanks, Kael."
Kael pulled over a wooden box, "Your stuff is all here, I organized it early this morning."
Kael opened the box, and Jimmy inspected its contents. The Python was in its box, alongside four boxes containing a hundred .357 Magnum bullets in total, a box of 200 bullet heads, a box of 200 cases, and a canister of gunpowder. Next to it was another box containing the reloading press, the bullet reloading tool.
Jimmy: "Thanks, Kael, you've been very thorough."
Kael: "Glad you're pleased."
