North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 557: 381 Luck Has Arrived_3

He threw his cigarette butt on the ground, pulled out his Glock, and ran towards the sound of gunfire. As Jimmy was about to reach the alley, a man ran out from within. Jimmy didn't rush directly to the alley entrance but leaned against the corner of the wall and shouted, "FBI, put down your gun."

The person inside was running towards the entrance of the alley when he suddenly heard Jimmy shouting "FBI" and instinctively got scared. He stumbled and fell diagonally to the ground.

Seeing him fall, Jimmy immediately peeked out a bit from the corner of the alley, aimed his gun at him, and said, "FBI, put down your gun. Do not get up."

"Spread your hands out on the ground and throw your gun away, or I will shoot."

"Put down your gun."

The fallen man was about to get up, looked up, and saw the handgun pointed at him. After struggling for a long while, he finally gave up amid Jimmy's increasingly loud shouts. He threw his handgun aside, raised his hands, and then spread them out flat on the ground.

Only then did Jimmy come out from the corner, gun aimed and ready to move closer. He had just taken two steps when the man on the ground suddenly screamed, "Ah~~~", his hands moving from being spread flat to embracing his head, his whole body writhing on the ground, and then suddenly, he was utterly silent, ceasing all movement.

Since the beginning, Heart Eye had not stopped, and as the man writhed, Jimmy had already stopped moving forward. He kept watching, and when the man on the ground ceased to move, some smoke started emanating from his body and quickly gathered together.

The gathering smoke soon formed a humanoid shape. It looked wispy because it was smoke. If it weren't for Heart Eye's ability to precisely outline its shape, Jimmy wouldn't even consider it humanoid, since the legs were about as wide as the upper body.

Jimmy immediately put away his Glock and switched to two revolvers, the M686 in his right hand and the Remington 1875 in his left. After the smoke had gathered, white spots appeared on the smoky figure, which seemed to have quite a few, roughly a dozen or twenty at a glance.

After forming a humanoid shape, the smoke did not move towards Jimmy. Instead, it hovered in the air for a while and drifted towards the nearby building, gradually becoming horizontal.

Jimmy didn't wait anymore. He fired the M686 at the white spots on it, sending 6 bullets in a little over a second, hitting each target. The humanoid smoke did not move fast, making it an easy target for Jimmy, akin to hitting stationary targets at a shooting range.

After firing a round, the previously hit white spots disappeared from the smoky figure, which enraged it. It turned around and drifted towards Jimmy, slightly increasing in speed.

Jimmy switched the Remington 1875 to his right hand and fired at the smoke again. It was his first time using the gun Roland had given him to shoot an Evil Spirit, and the effect was shockingly good.

When Jimmy had used his M686 earlier, he had only hit the white spots without causing additional damage. However, the 1875 was different; each hit on the smoke caused a splash like a bullet entering water.

This effect genuinely excited Jimmy, as this gun was much better than his own. As Gunman's sidearm, it naturally possessed a demon-breaking effect, which significantly increased Jimmy's chances of victory.

After firing 6 bullets, the humanoid smoke suddenly expanded and then rapidly contracted. Seizing the moment it changed, Jimmy quickly reloaded the 1875. He was not very accustomed to this gun's cylinder speed, which made reloading a bit slow, but he managed to reload just as the smoke was gathering again.

The smoke gathered into a twisted sphere. In the middle of the sphere, Jimmy saw several white spots clustering together. He didn't wait for it to finish changing, in case it transformed into something much worse. Jimmy fired at the white spots in the middle of the sphere. After shooting 6 bullets and reloading once more, following another round, all the white spots in the smoke disappeared.

The humanoid smoke finally seemed to lose its support, swaying back and forth a few times and then, like a ring of smoke Jimmy would exhale while smoking, it slowly drifted up and dispersed into the air until it completely vanished from Heart Eye's range.

Jimmy looked around; he had fired many shots, and there were a bunch of casings on the ground. He took out his phone and called the duty officer at the station, arranged for forensic and ambulance services to come over, and then collected the casings from the ground. People nearby must have called the police, as Jimmy could already hear the sound of sirens.

The NYPD patrol officer arrived quickly. Jimmy raised his hands high and shouted to the officer getting out of the car, "FBI, do not shoot."
