Charles handed Jimmy a walkie-talkie, and both of them wore an earpiece to facilitate communication in the dark.
Jummy suddenly felt quite sympathetic towards Charles. He was just an ordinary person, squatting for several hours in complete darkness, which was not something just anyone could handle. Although they could move around, they had already received news that someone was planning to cause trouble, so naturally, he couldn't just move around freely. It was almost like squatting in a dark prison. All the lights in the room had been turned off for safety, and currently, the only light visible was the faint moonlight coming through the windows, though the brightness was not high.
Apart from occasionally getting up to move around within a small area, the rest of Jimmy and his team's time was spent waiting. A little after 2 AM, Jimmy finally noticed some movement outside.
Jimmy looked at the person sneaking towards them from the side and suddenly felt that Hughes, the old villain, was too much. Didn't he consider inaccurate intelligence when assigning tasks? Attacking a witness with two guards, what was the deal with having six people come at once? Moreover, Jimmy noticed that these six weren't just stragglers; they were organized, moving in a formation, four in front and two behind, slowly advancing towards their villa.
They hadn't entered yet, and Jimmy hadn't heard any sounds, so naturally, he couldn't signal Charles. He could only continue to wait. Watching them move slowly to the side of the house, they then spread out to search for the house's entrances, appearing very cautious.
An idiot walked right by the corner where Charles was hiding, presumably discovered by Charles. He pressed the talk button on the walkie-talkie without saying anything; Jimmy heard the signal and replied with a confirmation, continuing to wait in silence.
Finally, the six people gathered outside the main entrance, gestured to each other, and then split into two groups, still four at the main door and two went to the back door. Jimmy was on the first floor on the right side, Charles on the left, and with a slight click, the main door was slowly opened, followed by a "squeak" as the door was pushed open. Unfortunately, the door hinge was slightly defective, the noise of opening the door wasn't loud, but it was enough to be heard.
As the door opened, a person slowly entered. The four people at the main door seemed to have undergone combat training; their formation was much like a police CQB team. It appeared form only, as the positions and angles of their firearms were somewhat off.
The second person entered, aimed his gun to the other side, his movement a bit stiff, but the steps were correct. The third person followed them into the house. The first two didn't linger but dispersed left and right, each targeting the space in front of them.
Perhaps because the room was too dark, the first person on the left turned on a flashlight. "Bang bang," Charles fired first. The flashlight illuminated the target area, and combined with the moonlight, it somewhat lit up the space, creating favorable shooting conditions.
Jimmy felt his shooting was not bad, just unlucky. The people coming in, although their tactical movements were a bit stiff, reacted very fast, shooting while swiftly dodging to the side. Charles missed both shots, and Jimmy didn't observe his targets being taken down. Charles didn't stop. He started shooting towards the vague shadows he saw, and the person who entered also shot at Charles after dodging.
The person walking towards Jimmy's side turned his gun towards Charles' position after hearing the gunfire. Jimmy couldn't risk Charles being unharmed under the aim of two people. He didn't hide anymore and exposed his gun line. His first target was the person closest to Charles on the left, then the second person who turned upon hearing his gunshots.
Because the room was unlit, with only a small amount of moonlight and they hadn't brought night vision goggles, everyone was on equal footing in the darkness, except Jimmy. The first person through the door hadn't turned off the flashlight attached to his handgun, allowing Jimmy to shoot him three times. He didn't aim for the head because they might need to identify them by their faces later.
Six shots in total, both men who entered first were taken down by Jimmy, and he could confirm that both were dead because they didn't move after falling.
Now, the light in the room was just from the flashlight of the first person who fell, thankfully, it did not shine towards Jimmy and Charles.
The third person who had just entered from the main door, after realizing there was gunfire to his left and right, fired two shots towards Jimmy's location but immediately retreated after seeing the two in front fall, bumping into the fourth person. Both of them retreated back through the main door.
This person was smart, very smart. A few counter-shots from Jimmy and the previous two firing several shots to the left without receiving any feedback clearly showed their position was very poor. The only option was to exit, otherwise, they could only be outright slaughtered.
Jimmy turned to look at the two people at the back door. After the gunfire, they hadn't entered from the back. "Charles, are you hurt?" Jimmy pressed the walkie-talkie, asking quietly, now it was safe, the remaining four at the front and back doors hadn't made it into the room.
Charles: "No problem, I'm not hurt."
Jimmy: "Main door, at least one, maybe two. Take a look at the back door; I'll handle the front door." It was really tough for Jimmy, although he definitely knew about the people at the front and back doors, he couldn't just say it outright. The third person at the door had fired his gun earlier, which could still be explained, but directly saying there was a fourth person outside would be too much.
