North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 503: 361 Dangerous Mission_3

Soon, Charles entered with a middle-aged man. Well, the nickname "Big Chin" really suited him. His figure didn't look that fat, but his face was indeed very wide at the bottom.

Charles, "Jimmy, this is Big Chin."

Jimmy, "Hmm, put him on the third floor. It'll be more convenient for us."

Charles nodded. Big Chin didn't say anything and shrugged his shoulders as he sat down beside the sofa. "Is it just you two?"

Jimmy looked at him. "You have a problem with that?"

Big Chin, "No, it's more comfortable with fewer people. Where's the bathroom?" He said as he stood up and left the living room.

Watching him leave, Jimmy asked Charles, "Did you search him?"

Charles nodded. Jimmy, "This guy doesn't look like a trouble-free person. We'd better split up the watch. You keep an eye on him first, and I'll get some rest for a few hours. I'll take over at night, then after midnight we'll join up, and alternate during the day."

Charles frowned, clearly considering Jimmy's plan. But there was no choice; with just two of them, they had to take shifts. Moreover, each shift couldn't be too long, otherwise they wouldn't be able to maintain their alertness. This wasn't simply about staying awake for half a day; they also had to ensure this person didn't escape and be on guard against anyone potentially coming from outside. This kind of pain was truly unbearable.

Charles nodded. Jimmy, carrying his bag, went up to the second floor, chose a room, locked the door, and lay down to rest. He only took off his suit jacket because this mission was too urgent; he didn't even have a chance to run home and grab a change of clothes. He knew it would be tough, so he even kept his holster on as he lay down on the bed to sleep.

By 6 PM, Charles hadn't come to wake Jimmy, but he had already woken up. He checked; there was one person lying in a room on the third floor and another sitting on the sofa on the first floor. It looked alright.

Jimmy got ready, opened his room door, and walked downstairs with his bag. Charles, hearing footsteps, kept his eyes on the stairs until he saw it was Jimmy and then relaxed.

Charles, "Waking up so early, I thought you'd sleep a bit more. The pizza's been ordered; it should arrive in about fifteen minutes."

Jimmy, "Thanks, I'll go freshen up."

After a while, Jimmy and Charles had 'dinner', brought a slice upstairs, then Charles took his bag and went up to rest. Now everything was up to Jimmy.

Guard duty was the most tedious task, needing to keep an eye on Big Chin upstairs while watching for suspicious characters outside and maintaining focus to prevent dozing off, which consumed far more energy than usual. Charles was obviously an experienced member; he had been the sole watch for a couple of hours while Jimmy rested, clearly tired as well. Jimmy watched him enter another room on the second floor; he didn't bother to undress and soon lay down.

Upstairs, Big Chin was behaving honestly, clearly aware of his situation. When the pizza was delivered earlier, he even reminded him not to leave the room unless necessary, hoping he could safely get through these two days.

Jimmy was somewhat luckier than Charles; he possessed the ability of "Heart Eye," which allowed him to monitor movements in the surroundings and upstairs from the living room. His "Heart Eye" could be used for an extended period, and the earlier "Black Rainbow" had further enhanced his spiritual power. If he really exerted himself, he could keep the "Heart Eye" active all day, though he would be tired afterward.

Now was the perfect time to train, so Jimmy began to observe the surroundings with "Heart Eye," including the underground pipelines. Although uncertain if anyone would use that route, an attack through the underground network was possible.

The first part of a quiet night had passed, and nearing midnight, Jimmy went upstairs to wake Charles. After midnight was the most dangerous time. Although Jimmy wasn't afraid of being ambushed, having more people provided a greater sense of security, mainly to not feel so isolated.

All the lights in the villa were turned off, and Jimmy and Charles split up on the first floor, each in different corners, ensuring the room wouldn't be breached all at once from the outside.
