RISE OF THE MARTIAL GOD

Chapter 117: YOU LOOK TOO RICH

The old man looked at Anthony who was all smiles, not seeming to bear grudges at all, realizing that the materials his clothes were made from was blue ice butterfly's heavenly silk, not available in the first realm. And were only seen in legends, and rarely entered the market when a powerful master crossed over. However, the danger of crossing between realms was a situation no one wanted to embroil themselves in, especially for flimsy things as financial profit. Masters only crossed over when it was absolutely necessary. Bringing along items to sell was just a bonus, never the main reason.

Anthony's hair which had grown long from not being barbed for months was held together by a golden pin with studded jewels and heavenly jade of unknown rank which had calming properties to the brain. The front part of his hair was held together atop his head by a golden hair bangle and pin, the lower side on the rear part was allowed to flow freely down his shoulders. His face was flawless and smooth. He looked exactly like an inexperienced teenage young master who had just left their wealthy clan for life experience, pretty face without a single hair or sign of maturity, and milky skin that made him look like an over pampered kid who had never known suffering. He looked young and innocent. But innocent was the only thing the current Anthony was not.

"Little boy, are you sure you want to leave like this? Your attire is literally screaming I'm a wealthy son of a powerful family, rob me, I have lots of treasures. This clothes of yours are very rare here. But some well informed bandits will still recognize it for what it is. You will attract lots of evil eyes." The old man finally said, making Anthony stop in his tracks and turn with a smile.

"This cloth is the cheapest of all the clothes that person packed for me. It's also black in color and less eye-catching, except for the silver designs. The other one that is even cheaper was destroyed by you know who after I got here. This is the most decent one I could find. Maybe, once I settle in, I will see what other young masters are wearing and buy them. But till then, I will manage this one. As for the rest that are more conspicuous, I won't wear them for now."

The old man sighed, knowing it's pointless to dissuade him.

"You're decked in luxury from head to toe, even a blind man could tell you're from a powerful family."

"Of course, but these items are not from my family. They're from my friend, as close to me as a brother. You might even know him."

"Are you aware of the kind of attention you will draw? Lots of people would want to do you harm. Even your bag attached to the horse was made with rare leather and twine, with jade fasteners. And you also chose a high grade spirit horse with sentience. Anything on you would sell for a high price."

Anthony chuckled.

"Let the bandits come. I don't fear a commotion, I love the noise. Coming at me is not a problem, do they have the ability to steal anything from me? They will only shoot themselves in the feet. I actually want them to come. Otherwise, how can I rob them and add to my stash. The money Xuanyu gave me would not last me a long time. But I'm sure that bandits will have a lot of money. I know what I'm doing. Don't worry, no one can hurt me. If I meet an enemy I can't handle, I will run and return when I'm stronger." Anthony said, patting his horse.

"Since you insist on leaving, I hope you stay safe." The old man said and reached into his clothes to bring out an old map written on animal skin.

"Here, this is the map of this place, showing the closest cities. However, the villages surrounding them were not marked out. Just the major city in each direction. The routes marked with red are the shortest routes out of Tian Luo forest that can get you across the gorge in a shorter amount of time, without having to go up the mountains and down again. The paths are hidden by formations and seem to be rocks when viewed from outside, but you can see it because you're leaving and also because the restriction on you is gone. This map only shows Tian Luo forest and the surrounding great mountains that made it seem to be part of the barren mountains to the outside world. After you leave Tian Luo, you can go to any part you please as there are interconnecting roads that can get you to any destination. When you get outside there, you can decide where to go. There are lots of places for youths seeking fortune. Be vigilant, don't get trapped by an enemy. And most importantly, never let anyone into your mind eye or let them discover your true cultivation. There's also something eye-catching in your core, its golden colored spiritual power is blinding to experts and would definitely attract them, even god realm masters. Make sure to cast a concealment spell around your belly to hide the overwhelming spiritual energy and life energy overflowing in it."

Anthony smiled and nodded.

"I know, I know. You're such a nag." He muttered and accepted the map from Huo Fu.

He looked at the map, and revised his plan which he had already made after thoroughly inspecting Tian Luo forest. He slipped it into his boot and climbed the horse with a smile on his face.

"Old Fu, thank you for providing shelter all these months. I also took herbs from the forest, thanks to you. I stumbled upon them while hunting for vegetables, wild potatoes and spices. Aha, I forgot to tell you this. Although I dried some spices for you, I know that you won't have the strength to go into the forest and scavenge for crops growing in the forest. So I made a farm for you closer to the house, between the sheep pen and the little stream. You don't need to water it as water from the stream will sprinkle on them at intervals. Everything is fully automated, it can turn off on its own once the rain comes. On the farm there are potatoes, corn, yams, rice, sugar beets, cabbage, leeks, carrots, and beans. At a corner, you will see the patch where I planted garlic, ginger, cinnamon, onions and leafy vegetables. You don't have to go hungry. The soil here is nice. Once you harvest them, the root left in the soil will probably bring another set, but you need to weed it at intervals. Also, your favorite nuts have been dried and stashed in the wooden cupboard in your room. Don't get sick, make sure you live a long and healthy life. Maybe, some day, you will find it in you to move out and stay with others in a village. Or accept companions. Don't kidnap people against their will, even if you have good intentions. Someone that does not understand will bear grudges and bring harm to you. This place is equally filled with treasures, if you lead a bad person here, they would attract evil eyes to vandalize it, ruining the beauty of this untouched paradise."

"Do you count as one of those bad people? I'm sure you plundered a lot." Huo Fu said and got into a cultivation stance.

Anthony grinned at him.

"I might have plundered a bit, but I left enough to ensure the place isn't left bare. In a few months they will regenerate. No matter what, I did way more good than harm. I only took them to avoid wasting them. Farewell then, consider it as me taking away things you don't want." He said and kicked his horse, and it began to move.

Huo Fu who had closed his eyes, pretending to cultivate, opened it and looked at Anthony who was already going down the hill, on his way to the canyon's gorge which needed to be crossed to get to the other side.

"Old friend, you have indeed found yourself a good disciple to inherit your technique. Letting him go with all your techniques isn't a loss at all. He's not just full of potential, he also has a good head. He's a very good one. You can rest assured now, your unofficial disciple will make you proud." He whispered and smiled.

That's right, Huo Fu was an acquaintance of the old man whose apparition appeared to Anthony in the cave of the perilous lands and taught him some techniques before letting him leave with the treasures. Worried about Anthony's arrogance and loud mouth, he had sent a secret message to a trusted person in the first realm to wait for Anthony and correct the vices he saw. Otherwise, if he continued being so arrogant, it would only be a matter of time before he aroused public outrage and went down the path of a tragic genius, which was something he didn't want to see. To him, Anthony was a good seed which must not be allowed to stray.

The Anthony he met was full of pride and boastful, calling himself the greatest genius ever, showing no respect to the great immortals and calling Lord Lan by his name. He trusted too much in his potential and cultivation. So losing it and forcing him to work harder would toughen him up and teach him to avoid troubles. However, Anthony was someone who had begun to change his temperament to that of an old fox after going back to the dragon clan. The current Anthony was nothing like the past pushover. And as for being arrogant, he would get even more arrogant in the future as long as the situation called for it.
