The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha

Chapter 427 Nezha's Favorite Feast

Nezha wouldn't reveal his task of searching for the Hongmeng Purple Qi. It wasn't out of fear of the Queen Mother having ulterior motives, but rather apprehension regarding Hao Tian. It's not that Hao Tian is inherently bad—Hongmeng Purple Qi is something everyone desires, and as someone who was once Daoist Ancestor's disciple, Hao Tian especially understands its significance.

Until the very last moment, Nezha wouldn't share this matter with anyone—not even Daji and the others. This was his way of protecting them.

Nezha instead talked to the Queen Mother about how No-Life Old Mother had intercepted him at Lingshan and how he later pursued her to the True Void Home, assisting the Taiyuan Saint Mother in reclaiming No-Life Old Mother's origin.

The Queen Mother was quite surprised. She had firsthand experience with No-Life Old Mother's abilities, and while she was far inferior to herself, she was certainly not someone Nezha should be able to contend with. She examined Nezha's status closely and determined he was likely at the level of a Daluo Golden Immortal. But the more she tried to scrutinize, the more indistinct it became.

Queen Mother: ???

To her, Daluo Golden Immortal was considered commonplace, but one she couldn't discern entirely was no ordinary Daluo. The Queen Mother was now full of puzzlement—could it be that Senior Sister Nuwa's teaching methods surpassed those of her own husband, Daoist Ancestor?

No matter how curious she felt inside, the Queen Mother couldn't voice it directly. To say such things aloud would amount to questioning Daoist Ancestor's teaching abilities. With the Six Saints being his disciples, who was she to doubt him?

Ultimately, hearing about No-Life Old Mother's fate still brought her great joy. The more miserable her enemies were, the happier she became!

Before long, Princess Long Ji hopped out from the rear hall, her face brimming with excitement as she called out, "Nezha!"

The Queen Mother had grown accustomed to her daughter slipping into a lovestruck daze the moment she saw Nezha. She couldn't quite understand it—she herself wasn't like this, so who exactly had Long Ji inherited this trait from?

Out of sight, out of mind, she waved her hand to signal the two to leave quickly.

Long Ji delighted in having time alone with Nezha. Grabbing his hand, she led him out of the Turquoise Pool.

"Hehe, Nezha."

In truth, Long Ji herself didn't know why, but simply being near Nezha, calling his name, filled her with joy.

Nezha missed Long Ji dearly, pulling her directly into his embrace and teasing her, "What are you giggling about?"

Long Ji blushed deeply at Nezha's actions, her flush spreading from her cheeks down to her neck.

"Ah, ah, it's nothing—just really happy."

The two held each other and whispered softly. Though occasional immortals passed by, their curiosity would never escalate into a bold stare. The faint aura of purple and starlight accompanying them made it unmistakable who they were.

Who would dare disrupt the romance between Emperor Ziwei and Princess Long Ji? Even the top three authorities in the Heavenly Court hadn't objected, so why would anyone else dare to meddle?

After some time, Nezha released Long Ji, who was now so thoroughly charmed by him that her thoughts had become wholly incoherent.

Nezha then led Long Ji back to Ziwei Star, where preparations had nearly been completed.

By the time Nezha returned, Daji and Deng Chanyu had already arrived and were busy organizing the banquet. Daji had also brought back plenty of spiritual wine, spirit fruits, and immortal food from the Immortal Market.

The first attendees were none other than Yang Jian's family.

Yang Jian, now positioned directly under the True Martial Emperor, had forged strong connections and was doing quite well for himself. Far removed from the era of hunting with a couple of hundred infantrymen in the Lower Realm, he now commanded a regular army of over 100,000 Heavenly Soldiers, including the elite Turtle Snake Armored Army of 5,000 strong.

In the Lower Realm, Wudang Mountain functioned as his Daoist sanctuary. Aside from occasionally seeking petty conflicts with his uncle or finding fault with disciples of the Western Sect, his immortal life was essentially perfect.

Since her release from confinement, Yaoji had been highly content with the current situation. Those who had believed in love learned that love itself could not be trusted. With her family safe and sound and her son about to marry, she had let go of her former obsessions.

What's more, her future daughter-in-law was a princess of the West Sea Dragon Clan—dutiful, well-mannered, and well-off. Yaoji was quite pleased, though she remained a little concerned about Yang Chan. Unfortunately, there wasn't much she could do to help her.

Nezha responded to Yang Jian's request on the spot, performing calculations. Now possessing half the Hongmeng Purple Qi, none understood Heaven's Will better than him! However, he didn't immediately disclose the results, saving the announcement for the banquet where it could serve as notification to others as well.

As time went on, more and more familiar faces from the Sealing God Period in the Heavenly Court began to arrive. From the Chan Sect came Huang Long, Jiang Ziya, and Lei Zhenzi. Yang Jian's master, True Master Yu Ding, however, remained resting in Yuxu Palace. Few acquaintances from Jie Sect made it, since they didn't rank highly. From the Human Clan came Yin Shou and his wife, along with Zhang Guifang and the Mo Family Four Generals.

Also present were Jin Jiao, Silver Horn, and Lord's ox.

The Deity of the Moon could not leave Taiyin Star, so the Jade Rabbit attended on her behalf.

The Mo Family Four Generals continued to style themselves as household retainers of Old Li. Now employed within the Heavenly Court, they were well-regarded both there and at Lingshan, owing partly to their strength and partly to their extensive network.

The banquet began, and Nezha took the opportunity to announce the wedding date he had calculated for Yang Jian. This brought evident satisfaction to several members of the Chan Sect, who truly regarded Yang Jian as a junior. His achievement in establishing a family was seen as a fulfillment of merit.

Among acquaintances, the initial tension stemming from differing statuses dissipated quickly under Nezha's facilitation. Soon, the atmosphere grew lively, with attendees sharing amusing anecdotes or gossip about certain immortals in the Heavenly Court.

For Nezha, the most entertaining topic was Marshal of the Heavenly Canopy. Despite holding the highest position under Nezha's command, and given Nezha's favorable connections to the Human Sect, their relationship ought to have been strong.

Yet the Marshal had been obsessively enthralled by the Deity of the Moon's appearance since seeing her, endlessly reciting lines like, "When will the moon shine bright? How does its shadow remain close?" Nezha, annoyed, had even visited Tushan multiple times to cut down the Marshal's endlessly growing red strings, but to no avail.
