The hags closed their eyes, as if they could already taste those delicious desserts. "Alright, we have a deal! As long as what you said is true, we can use Snake Demon Hearts to purchase 'Temporary Magic Items' from you. For every thousand of such items, I'll give you one heart. After all, that's something hard to come by!"
"At most 500 Temporary Magic Items for one heart, or else I'd be better off joining the war, as that offers greater profits." Lynch held up five fingers in front of the hags. "You know, I need five thousand Snake Demon Hearts. We'll have a long period of cooperation."
The hags exchanged a few glances, but didn't engage in any telepathic dialogue. There was no need for further discussion, as Lynch had already gathered enough information from their earlier conversations to understand how difficult obtaining each heart was for them.
"Deal, my child!" the hags said impatiently. "When can you deliver the first batch of goods?"
Lynch stood up straight and spoke in the most ancient Abyss Language, "Before I start, I need a residence."
In the Grey Ruins, there actually wasn't any residence. Lynch even doubted whether his All-Knowing Tower could exist long-term in this plane. The hags merely pointed him to a tent where he could temporarily stay. However, outside the tent, there were stacks of large and small baskets, all ready to contain the goods.
"I thought you would enter the battlefield, my dear." The Desire Demon lay on the ground, propping her chin with her hands as she looked at Lynch. She said, "If I could see you cast magic and destroy the demon front with meteors, that would be such an exciting moment."
Lynch shrugged and casually picked up a Flame Demon Scale, starting to work on it. With thousands of devils dying here, the corpse collectors' bags always held plenty of remains of high-level demonic creatures. While these weren't the best magic materials, they were sufficient for Lynch's needs. However, the mage still asked, "Eryies, you know I'm about to deceive your kin, those devils. Why don't you stop me from doing all this?"
"Hehe, my dear, why should I stop you?" The Desire Demon laughed, her wet lips barely revealing a soft tongue. She replied, "If this continues, won't you gradually become more like the devils? I'm happy to see your downfall."
Lynch tossed the scale towards Eryies, which happened to embed gently in her hair. The Desire Demon suddenly stood up, looking at her arms in surprise. "Oh! My dear, I feel like I can now bend iron rods and tear demon carcasses apart! How did you do it?"
Lynch shrugged and flexed his nimble fingers: "These things can only be used within a certain range, not exceeding four kilometers from me. I can make several piles of such items in a day."
"But you wouldn't make that many at once, would you?" Eryies took the scale from her hair and observed it in her palm. She laughed and said, "After all, those hags would still be somewhat distrustful."
"Even if I fall, I could never become a devil like you." Lynch refocused on his work at hand, as the silver sphere hovered in front of him, with the incessantly emerging text now turning gray. "I'm still far from you," the mage said calmly.
