"Don't let them get to the girls!!" Vancouver hissed, his voice raw with urgency, immediately identifying the greatest vulnerability. He didn't hesitate, leaping into the air and expertly severing the wing of a charging Wendigo with his sword.
BOOOOOOOM!
He landed heavily, the red dust scattering. He shot forward, a whirlwind of steel, his sword a blur, slashing back and forth. His armor was quickly stained with thick, black blood.
"How can Wendigos fly?!" Patrick demanded, his own technique masterful as he conjured phantom swords that decapitated five Wendigos simultaneously.
"I don't know, but that doesn't mean we won't end them all!" Elizabeth roared back, pulling her spear free from the bodies of two Wendigos. With a powerful kick, she struck the corpses, sending them tumbling like projectiles into the next wave of charging creatures.
"AHHH!!" Miranda yelled, channeling raw power. She smashed her battle-axe onto the ground, releasing a powerful, concussive shockwave in all directions. The sheer force shattered every Wendigo within a mile radius into dust, creating a momentary vacuum.
"Okay, this buys us some time," Draco acknowledged, nodding at his wife's decisive action. He spun around, his attention laser-focused on Olivia and Miami, who were still reeling from the shock of the overwhelming assault.
"Okay, girls," he started, his tone urgent and deliberate, forcing them to listen. "We did some deep investigation after your tube enhancement, and discovered that both of you are twins."
".....?!?"
Olivia and Miami stood dumbfounded, the personal revelation hitting them harder than any Wendigo attack. The two women, who believed they were unrelated, were suddenly given an unexpected, foundational truth.
"You two have something in common—a skill that activates upon kinship," Draco continued, racing against the clock.
"Once both of you hold hands, and a target is locked by your combined focus... that target will be instantly killed. That's the only reason we brought you here. You are the hidden weapon that can easily kill the Wendigos' King."
".....?"
The shocking news—that they were twins, and that their latent power made them assassins capable of killing a deity—caused the two women to freeze, their minds blank with overload.
"Snap out of it, you two!" Hell roared, his warrior's instinct overriding his patience. His gaze was fixed on the hordes of Wendigos rapidly closing the distance. "Keep your heads on the mission! Once the Wendigos' King shows his face! Take him down. No hesitation!"
"But, where is the King?" Rosita asked, her eyes scanning the overwhelming enemy.
"We will just draw him out!"
Draco raised his sword into the air, drawing upon his immense power, and smashed it into the ground.
BOOOOM!!
Blinding pillars of light shot out of the planet's surface, vaporizing countless land-bound Wendigos.
"I will deal with the airborne ones!" Patrick declared. He manifested his twin Dragon Wings—and shot into the air, charging toward the flying Wendigos, meeting their charge with an aggressive, deadly grace.
The nine elite warriors and their remaining soldiers clashed violently with the horde. Black and red blood flowed like a horrific stream across the red planet. They fought with the ferocity of cornered beasts, protecting the world that relied on them.
_
A moment later, the sky above the fortress reacted violently.
BOOOOM!!
A colossal pillar of red lightning dropped from the gateway above, striking the ground with earth-shattering force. The strike separated the two warring armies.
Vancouver landed heavily before his team, his eyes locked on the smoking impact zone. As the smoke slowly dispersed, it revealed the Wendigos' King—a massive, eight-foot-tall creature with a deceptively human face and limbs, but dark, terrifying dragon wings. The King stared at the exhausted group, then immediately focused on Olivia and Miami.
"Planning on blowing me up is useless," the King spoke, his voice deep and arrogant, fixing his gaze on Draco, the leader of the alliance.
"Because I brought this."
He opened his palm, revealing a sinister green glowing gemstone.
"What is that?!" Patrick hissed, landing hard beside his allies.
"Your doom."
The Wendigos' King crushed the gemstone. A malevolent red light burst forth from the fragments.
"Lord Lester!! I temporarily give you my body, help me win this battle!!" he yelled, a plea of desperate surrender.
"Lester?!" The nine warriors and their soldiers were utterly confused; the name was completely foreign, striking a chord of unknown terror.
"Lord Lester Blood!! Descend!!"
Everyone watched with mounting horror as the green light shot into the Wendigos' King's body.
"AHHHH!!"
The Wendigos' King growled in agonizing pain, dropping to his knees. He clenched his head as the demonic possession took hold: two more eyes snapped open three inches above his natural ones, and dark green veins pulsed violently across his body and wings, completing the horrifying summon.
"Hahahahaha!!"
Lester let out a bone-chilling, demonic laugh that echoed across the desolate planet. "Your world has hidden so well! If not for my minions, I wouldn't even know such a small world existed."
"You?! Who are you?!" Draco yelled, feeling the terrifying, oppressive energy of the newcomer—a power far beyond anything they had ever faced.
"I am Lester Blood! And I will use my slave's body to deal with you all!" he declared with a wicked smirk.
"You were prepared. You knew we would attack. How?!" Miranda demanded, her voice cold with strategic analysis, refusing to yield to fear.
"Of course. I have someone in your castle," Lester grinned, his smirk turning into a chilling, triumphant expression.
"Killing you will set my plan in order."
"Who will die first? I'll take care of those kids," he said, turning his focus back to the vulnerable Olivia and Miami.
"Don't you dare!?!" Hell hissed, his immense protective instinct overriding all caution. His body began a rapid transformation, shifting into a monstrous, huge Black Werewolf, standing eight feet tall.
"No matter what happens, we will kill you!!" Hell roared, his claws elongating as he lunged toward Lester, a fearless charge fueled by fury.
"Aren't you so arrogant?"
WHOOSH!!
A beam of raw, concentrated power burst from Lester's four eyes, striking Hell instantly and violently blowing up his head. The fearless werewolf dropped to the ground, dead before his body fully collapsed.
"Hell?!!!" Rosita screamed, clutching her chest as the mate bond was violently and completely severed, the shock of her husband's death a crippling blow.
"I will kill you!!!" She stood up, her eyes turning pure white with rage and pain:
"I will kill you!!!"
BOOOOM!!!
Pillars of blinding light smashed down from the sky, colliding directly onto Lester.
"Hahahaha!! You are fascinating! I like you," Lester walked casually out of the blinding light, his skin only mildly burnt, unaffected by the celestial-level attack. With a devastating flash, he appeared directly in front of Rosita and clamped his hand around her face.
"Why don't you become my second wife!"
"NO!!!"
Before the rest of the group could charge—Draco, Miranda, Vancouver, Patrick, Elizabeth, Olivia, and Miami—a wave of demonic energy pulsed outward from Lester, smashing into them and sending them flying backward, helpless.
Lester then injected his corrosive demonic energy into Rosita, his power completely overwhelming her mind and soul, turning her evil. He had not just defeated her; he had enslaved her, twisting her love into his darkest weapon.
"From now on, you will be known as Nymeria," Lester stated, releasing Rosita, who stood now as his newly corrupted consort, her former self completely annihilated.
