Aaron said goodbye to his parents as he boarded the train to Dusk City.
More than two years ago, he was in this exact situation, where he boarded this train for the first time in his life to reach the Dusk Academy, when he got first accepted as a student.
Though he was moving just like that, he knew it won't be the same.
Back then, he left thinking that he won't be seeing them for four years, but before the second year was done, he was back at home, spending time with his family. Also, this is his third year, and there was not much left in it.
The fourth and final year is almost upon him. Once he graduates from the academy, that would be it. He would be free to do whatever he wants to. No one would or could question him.
The only chances were supposed to be when there were missions, but everything went haywire with the War against the Cults and the Monsters.
A lot of deaths occurred on all sides.
Recently, he heard rumours that the Monsters might have withdrawn from the war. Though there were battles against low ranking monsters, high ranking ones were not seen much.
It would only meant two things. Either there are no more high ranking monsters or the monsters withdrew and the ones still seen are factions that didn't truly agree and were acting alone.
The first one is less likely. No one would believe that there monster numbers has reduced to such a low number. The most likely reason was the second one.
Rumours spread, but there was no declaration from the Alliance regarding the matter, probably trying to verify whether that was true. They didn't want to declare something without knowing it to be true, as it could bite them in the ass.
Without how things were going for the past two years, the morale and trust among the people in the Alliance is falling. If the monsters had really called off the war, that could be a win for the Alliance. The trust among the people would increase, but if that turns to be false, the backlash would be worse.
So, they didn't declare anything, but didn't stop the spread of rumours as it helped them a bit.
They went with the flow.
It was also estimated that the war with the cults would be over soon. The recent set backs, many believe that the cults are pulling their trump card as they were at an disadvantage, almost getting wiped out by the alliance, which made them use their trump card, which was sending shivers among the people, but many understood as long as this trump card was taken care of, maybe the cults would face the end.
Many hoped so.
Aaron knew these things, as he heard people speaking openly about such matters, especially because there was a curfew because of that trump card of the cults.
So, he believed that if he returned to the academy he could meet up with the girls, especially because Zara and Reyna would be graduating in a few months.
Yeah, he was already in his third year and those two girls, they were a year his senior, which means they would leave the academy and it would not be as easy to make contact with them.
Yes, they can speak using the communicators, but physically, it would become difficult to do so.

Luminar Academy...Headmaster's Office...
"What do you mean that he was returning to the academy?" the headmaster of the Luminar Amacemy spoke.
He was asking the messenger in disbelief.
Aaron has once again became the talk of the town among the higher officials of the Alliance.
Long ago, as a Death Mage, he entered their folders as he achieved the first rank in the alliance exam. Then he thwarted an attack on himself by the cultists, which indirectly saved a lot of students.
Later he became the top in the tournament and even made the Dusk Academy to stand at second position, which it has never done before. Now, the first rank was the only higher rank for the acdemy to achieve.
After that, there were no huge mentions of Aaron, not until Duskmist City. It caused some ripples. Later on, he stumbled on sem cultists as he patrolling Rock CIty, which was on the list of the cults to cause some ruckus.
A lot of cultists died because of him, and a lot of lives saved, though what he did directly was very minimum.
From that it can seen that, whether one does a huge thing or a small thing, it wouldn't matter. There would be ripples, for both scenarios.
Now, he fell into the ruins, which everyone in the world is eager to enter and see what they were about. Anyone that entered the true part of the ruins, they were dead. None made it out.
For months no one returned. So, it was believed that they might be dead. It was the same conclusion everyone came regarding Aaron when he fell and ddn't return for weeks.
All of a sudden, he returned alive, without missing any body parts. That was a great achievement. He not only returned, he has detailed report that he prepared while in the ruins. Also, he brought sovienours, of the people that he found dead in the ruins.
It didn't account for everyone, but most people got peace about the situation finally.
His return this time cause a huge ripple, something that the alliance can't ignore anymore and so can't the cults. They put on a huge bounty on Aaron's head, unlike what they did when he was still newly awakened.
They didn't take him seriously at that time. They didn't think that a Death Mage was a true target when there was someone with SS-Rank Class.
So, this time they put a huge bounty, so huge that could make even a Rank-6 professional would make a move on Aaron.
What they didn't know was that Aaron crossed a stage where Rank-6 would be of no threat. In terms of Skills and Attributes, he even surpassed Rank-7 but he heard rumours about what happens when one cross the threshold to Rank-7.
It was the only reason why Aaron didn't believe that he could defeat a Rank-7. If not, he could even defeat them and that was what the ones who were plotting against him would learn but that would be too late, and they wouldn't have a chance to ever put such a lesson into motion in their life.
